True to its name, the Skarmory is but a small thing, barely big enough to fly and leave the nest. It chirps here, down in the black abyss, oblivious to the danger. His wings glow, illuminating the path forward brighter and gentler than any lantern.[break][break]
One last trip with her. One last question he never thought to ask himself: does Eternatus eat? Can he, if he finds a stomach, starve his great enemy? Would this undying beast, so far removed from the concept of death that eternity draws His name from the well of its power, even care if He starved? Navy does not know. All he knows is that Eris is strong, and it distracts them both to be here rather than above.[break][break]

Tiny hums. He hums for no other reason than he wishes to do so. He hums because light and mirth and sound are good, brief as such things are in the face of unending black. He hums because to cease his tune is to cease being alive. Like all who are young, he is full to the brim with life, oblivious to the cruelties it will inflict upon him.[break][break]
He casts a spotlight upon the chamber into which they step. Where once there was darkness, they now can see. It is not just hypothesis but fact that Eternatus digests. Some great gargantuan creature, perhaps once a Buzzwole, lists into the green mire.[break][break]
“How in the world do you know what it’s like to be poisoned by cyanide?” He asks. Not even Rocket would stoop that low, or so the man thinks. “Wish we had a few wheelbarrows full of the stuff right now. Wouldn’t that be a way to kill a god?”[break][break]
Flesh contracts around them in quick contractions, as if laughing at Navy’s words. It carries the cadence of condescension. Mortals are quick to anthropomorphize that which they do not understand. [break][break]
“This place gives me the creeps.”

Those are concerns for another day. Tiny’s chirps grow frantic, an attempt to get his owner’s attention. The light cast by his Skarmory flashes to the green below. There’s blood in the water, and just now there is movement above them. Quiet, frantic movement grows louder and louder as time passes.[break][break]
“Think we’re good for now.” He insists. “Let’s get back. No more trips like this for now.”

It is not they that the Sharpedo pursue, Navy realizes. Trapped on the path back is a pair of Phione.[break][break]
Arceus. It’s like that one Isaac n’ I rescued.[break][break]
“Shuwen!” Navy shouts, sending out the burned bear in a flash of red. He rushes forward, fists already flying. They crash into the first of the Sharpedo, then another. His fists never stop flying, not until something soars through the air towards him. “Catch!”[break][break]
In his hands is an axe called Ragnarok, a harbinger of the end-times. It is imbued with the power of lightning. Shuwen clasps the axe, squeezes it tight, and screams out his battle cry.[break][break]
“ORA!” Thunderbolt, a technique no Urshifu has used before him, rings out from the axehead. It pushes the Sharpedo back just far enough for the two to break through. Navy scoops up one Phione under each arm. Neither protests or tries to break free.[break][break]
“Come on! Let’s get outta here!”

“Get up here! Don’t think Reiner can keep up with Valkyrie.” As much as he’d love to see the electric lynx try, they have an army of dead things and ultra beasts on their heel. Best to rush off and see it done. Shuwen strikes one more mighty cleave and their path forward is secured.[break][break]
Now, they just have to take that path.
