Fenelle might be deaf but is not without a really good sense for rhythm, forged by hours and hours spent in rhyhthm games. Der Metagross and Rotom would assist if there's any audio input dee would need to perform, but else, dee is ready to simply work the nonsensical morse code that dee has translated der drumming input into. And gladly, it's mostly about disrupting the League - not actually earning any musical award, though it might be funny if they managed, too.

"I'm ready," dee announces then via sign-to-text-to-speech by der Rotom, who brzzts in a tablet big enough for text to be easily readable. Metagross is, as ever, a steady and calm presence in der mind, and serves as floating chair for Fenelle to command the pretty large drums they somehow managed to get (thanks, adoptive parents' money).

Dee actually might be a bit excited for this occasion. There's not been many occasions where dee could see and figure out der musical inclinations, so it's actually a welcome opportunity in a way.

League events were largely stupid celebrations of nothing. Still, anything that offered them publicity - positive publicity - was a problem for their organization. So several teams of Rocket members had been dispatched to perform louder and block out their concert. "Ready also. We want to prioritize volume over quality," she reminded. Her cowbell had been a silly choice, but it's distinct pinging sound would help overpower other songs, especially with the microphone right on it. [break][break]

She hoped to use it to disrupt the rhythm of League performers. Ultimately, with the chaos of varying performances, she went for a calm approach. It set apart from the faster rhythms and would be more noticeable as a result to listeners.

“Oh c'mon, friends,” Rhea called teasingly as she set up her mic stand, her mouth peeling into a Cheshire-like grin, “I think this will be quite fun!” [break][break]

And, truth be told, the mercenary actually was quite excited about this particular job. This would essentially be a glorified karaoke session, a wonderful chance to stretch her lungs and exercise her vocal chords and drown out the sickeningly saccharine pop and electronica coming from the recently erected island outside of Mossdeep. Rhea was happy as a Clamperl just thinking about the racket they would make, and for the opportunity to let off a little steam. [break][break]

Her Grimmsnarl lingered nearby, eyeing the perimeter of their temporary venue, arms crossed over his chest like some sort of fae bouncer. His trainer took a few deep breaths, in and out, before turning back to her companions, [break][break]

“Ready!” [break][break]

Maybe those singing lessons her parents forced her to take in her youth would finally pay off.

admittedly? kasper had never went near a guitar in their life.

they know a little about guitars, mostly the obvious- that it had to be tuned- and beyond that, the instrument resting half in their hands was just as strange to them as they're sure they would be to it. if it were alive, anyway.

"this...is tuned, right?" even if their plan is to be loud instead of make anything actually good, they don't exactly want to risk most of their teammates earbuds by playing some out-of-tune guitar as loudly as possible. that's supposed to sound really bad, right?

"i mean. if it is, i'm ready to go." manifesting that someone's taken pity on them (or the group as a whole), kasper manages the world's most nervous half-grin as they glance up at the rest of the makeshift band.

Fenelle gives thumbs-up in lieu of spoken replies to most of the questions and remarks asked - being loud is something dee is actually rather good at, as someone who is entirely detached from the consequences. Still, in the group play, dee has practiced enough not to hit the drums too hard, but with a good amount of force. Upon Kasper's question, dee could only shrug however, deferring the question to the others-

But then it's also their go-signal! An obnoxiously blinking banner appears, announcing the name of their group-

FEKARHAM

- advertising it in colours that probably give eye cancer. And while dee has partially picked them, dee pointedly doesn't look at it, and instead starting to drum away. Sometime midway in the performance, dee would start increasing der volume as a drum solo nears. And hopefully, the others manage to protect their ears in time as Fenelle, blissfully unaware of the dezibel levels - no, actually, it does hurt a little bit - hits the drums as loud as possible, maybe resembling a Mega Rillaboom in the process.

And after another while, the song comes to an end, leaving sore arms and a last thunk as Fenelle's head meets the drums, creating a reverberating sound. Der arms feel tender alright, in a state that might also translate to der mind. A vulnerability of having gone all out, captured by uncertainty and certainty alike. It's a really strange feeling that dee isn't really ready to examine further as dee sits upright again, turning around to see how der band mates are doing.

Rhea's hands found the mic as the bright lights blinked to life above her. The thunderous roll of Fenelle's drums announced the beginning of their performance; the twang of Kasper's (possibly out of tune) guitar followed after. The rhythmic thonk, thonk, thonk of Ameena's cowbell was iconic enough to give the tune away before the lyrics had even kicked in. Rhea grinned wider, and wider, as she leaned against the microphone stand. It was showtime, baby, [break][break]

“Aaaaaall our tiiiiimes have come, [break]
Heeeeere but noooow they're gone.” [break][break]

A little tune about mortality would serve as a pointed message to the League, even if the cacophonous volume of their performance was probably doing a good enough job at that as it was. Rhea's voice was sonorous but loud, a skillset utilized in such a way as to drag out notes and belt out the words as loudly as she could, [break][break]

“Romeo and Juliet, are together in eternity. [break]
Forty thousand men and women every day, [break]
Another forty thousand coming every day.” [break][break]

But it was a little melancholy, wasn't it? Rhea couldn't help but feel a little sadness creep in as the song began to near its conclusion. Mortality wasn't just a thing to fear for those at the pointed tip of the blade; any moment could be their last. The next fight could see her cut down, or one of her bandmates, or her Pokemon, or a hundred thousand other possible people. And even if they lived to see another day, who knew when their time was up? [break][break]

The mercenary shook her head as if to rid herself of the thought when the song neared its conclusion and she stuffed her earplugs in for Fenelle's added drum solo. No time for such dreadful thoughts now; they had some eardrums to well and truly destroy.

For the record, the assignment was to overpower the sound of League performance, so the visuals were unnecessary. She didn't care for the color choices, but at least she had to give credit where things mattered: der taste in music was impeccable. [break][break]

She followed along faithfully with her cowbell. She mouthed along, but she couldn't deliver it the way Rhea was. Ameena knew better than to try. Besides, had she ever tried to harmonize with someone after childhood? [break][break]

The cowbell wasn't necessary a depressing or melancholic instrument innately, but Ameena did her best to register some tone of sadness that would suit the song.

the lights were...something! kasper had almost forgotten about them in their worry about the guitar, and now, with them as bright and eye-catching as ever, they find it hard to forget about.

which....worked, honestly, considering their whole thing was to be as disruptive as possible. the guitar- which is maybe a little bit out of tune (or do guitars just sound like that sometimes?) strums along, and kasper- kind of wishes they had brought a guitar pick or something with them. long before the end of the night, their fingers are going to be tender from plucking at the strings so much.

At the end of the performance and after giving the most deafening drum solo perhaps known to mankind, it's a miracle that the wodden sticks in Fenelle's hand haven't broken yet. There's real temptation to do the rockstar thing of destroying your instruments as the performance is over, but that drum set is a rental-

And so Fenelle simply opted to look around at the other bandmates, giving them a thumbs-up as dee has followed a written transcript of the performance as given by der Rotom tablet. Dee especially catches Kasper's eyes for a moment, seeing that it might seem like their arms might be as sore as ders.

But, the performance isn't over yet ... there's the opportunity to send a more verbal message to the League, and Fenelle has opted to pick defamation. Where their band name and some flashy lights have been, a new name appears - a music company that is known to support the League is now claimed to have sponsored this whole music, noise and light show. The consequences might not last too long, but it's fun to stir the flame a bit in seemingly unrelated ways.

As stupid as the entire concert idea was, she had to admit she was having fun. [break][break]

She was glad to see Kasper getting involved with Rocket projects after their chat forever ago in HQ. Rhea had been her knight in shining armor when Combees attacked. Fenelle was a newer face to Ameena, but der energy was inspiring. It was fun. [break][break]

And at least she felt productive while knocking against the cowbell rhythmically. Their propaganda was working. The sponsorship display would sow seeds of distrust in the organization if Rocket lost the propaganda war, and it would put League in a difficult spot if Rocket didn't lose the propaganda war - because why would the League support organizations that funded Rocket? [break][break]

A win-win. So she turned around on stage and revealed the verbage on the back of her shirt that would be for sale after the concert, merch for any of the viewers to indulge in.

Rhea turned back to her band-mates and whooped with exhilarated joy, [break][break]

“An excellent disruption! Wonderful work, everyone!” [break][break]

She mirrored Fenelle Miller's thumbs-up, and felt a surge of mischievous glee as the alleged “sponsorship” was proudly broadcast by the glaring lights above. But that wasn't the part she was most excited for – [break][break]

“Do you think anyone will actually buy the merchandise?” she asked ameena abadi, eyebrow quirked in an expression of genuine curiosity, “I mean, FEKARHAM doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, now, does it?” [break][break]

But the font was a pretty sick choice. Maybe the mercenary would abscond with one of the tee shirts herself; it would make a fine memento for this fun and raucous venture.

Fenelle grins as the merchandise is also advertised, with a few of the Rotom-drones flying in and providing additional footage of the band t-shirts of a band that's been formed incredibly quickly. The League could not truly believe they could just make up a whole "resort island" near Sootopolis and get away with it. Fenelle also wears the shirt and poses alongside Ameena if allowed, before it would time to clear the stage for whatever other band Rocket has produced in the meanwhile.

Dee grins at Rhea's remark, actually, signing so that it would be translated by der own Rotom, "But it's a pretty good colour combination! Visually, very good with the font, too." It's a surprisingly pleasant arrangement for Fenelle, even if acoustically, it might be a challenge that dee fortunately doesn't have to bother with. However, as dee gestures for der Metagross to pick up the drum parts psychically, dee gets lost in thought.

What could this be in sign, except all letters signed real quickly?

Rhea's question plastered a smile on her face. "People will buy anything." Gods knew, her company had sold so many silly upgrades and accessories for their devices. People didn't care what the cutting edge of technology actually was so long as it was new and something they could acquire. [break][break]

Ameena bowed at the stage as the last notes finished. She pocketed the striking instrument for her cowbell, a little souvenir, and turned to leave the stage. This would show the League for trying propaganda so close to their home turf. She considers the commentary from Fenelle, and honestly, der right about the aesthetics. "I think we should pocket a shirt or two for our hard work." It was very silly, and she'd never be caught dead in it, but it would amuse her nevertheless.
