Understatement of the year. If half of the communications received from the city were to be believed, declan walsh and freya morningstar had gotten into bed together to come to some sort of ceasefire. Something had happened in the crater, but getting appropriate intelligence was proving difficult.

"The League saved Mossdeep. I don't know whether to shake Gwyar Wledig 's hand or punch him in the jaw." The admin didn't seem particularly annoyed by the development. If anything, he seemed pleased by it. "So much for our general, hm? Maybe raising a hitman to the level of strategic command wasn't a particularly wise move."

Knowing that the Devourer had failed was greatly satisfying. Necrozma didn't magically make someone good at planning for war. It just made their failure more prevalent.

"Gather your things and set out by the end of the week."

He didn't need that helmet anymore. It was replaceable. Kouji would return again, stronger and more determined than ever before. He would return because this was not a death sentence. It was a chance to save the world.

"Of course. Fulfill your obligation, and return to Sootopolis with your head held high. I will accept nothing less." Kouji would return. He would because it was expected of him. No matter what happened, the man's drive was unstoppable in the face of unfair odds. That was the only way that he could choose to face Admin Fox on the field and suffer.

"When you return, rise stronger than you were before."

Those were the last words from Howard Slayte to Kouji Matsubara as Admin Fox descended into the void.
