[attr="class","monty"]A call came in to the department about a troublesome amount of COMBEE in the Oldale area. They were furious about something, and what it was, he needed to figure it out.

So, Montgomery took it upon himself to go and see if these claims were true, and, in one fell swoop, see what he could do to stop it.

He approached a field, on the outskirts of town. In the distance, there was a low buzzing noise.

"I'll be damned. Look at 'em."

Ahead of him was a swarm of COMBEE, buzzing furiously.

Icy-blue eyes landed on the shape of a man, apparently similarly mystified by the Combee swarm. She raised a gloved hand and began trotting in their direction, adjusting the scabbard on her back.[break][break]

"I suppose you are on bug duty as well, yes?" It would be nice to have help with the situation, Emiliana didn't have a particular fondness for insects.

[attr="class","monty"]It didn't take long for the deputy to notice another person at the scene. A woman, clad in armor with a scabbard at her back. She appeared to have emerged from a storybook tale from Galar, in his eyes.

Wasn't she hot? He was already sweating due to the late summer heat.

He tipped his cowboy hat in a greeting to her, then nodded. "I am. There's been manya call about it. I didn't think it was this big a problem, though..."

Montgomery placed his hands on his hips, considering what they might be able to do. "I'm tryin'ta figure out the best way to go 'bout this. A full attack seems worthless. There's too many of 'em."

A beat went by before he balked at himself. "Sorry. Name's Montgomery."

As the swarm was mentioned, her gaze flicked towards the source of the buzzing. Emiliana hummed softly while she considered the appropriate method of assault, attempting to resist her urge to run in sword first. [break][break]

"We divide and conquer." She turned on heel back toward the man, placing a hand on the Pokéballs affixed to her hip. "Disperse and many of them as we can, then we neutralize the those that remain." An elegant plan, crafted by the sharp mind of the Duchess of Snowbelle herself. Which, reminded her of a social faux pas she'd been committing since this conversation began.[break][break]

"Emiliana, a pleasure." She returned, in kind.
