Dorian lead a warband of Rockets across Route 102. The Mad Dog intended on taking as much of the Route as possible, crushing any League resistance he could along the way.

Suddenly, one of the Rockets with him dropped. "Sniper!", one of the Rockets cried out, as they scrambled for cover.

After taking cover, Dorian brought out his Gouging Fire, Baron Bashington. The Gouging Fire wasted no time in calling in a Sunny Day. Protosynthesis kicked in, strengthening the ancient beast.

"Any idea what direction the sniper fire came from?", Dorian asked one of the Rockets.

Dorian thought back to previous jobs, namely those involving Zev Harcourt as a sniper. Though he never personally cared for something so 'cold and distant', he had never been on the receiving end of a sniper attack before.

The smell of gunpowder burns the inside of his nose. The sting is familiar, and he closes his right eye briefly, letting both relax for a moment before peeking back onto the scope. The casing is cause by a delicate psychic as his shiny Porygon picked it up and set it aside, keeping watch against potential attack. "Cassidy on point 23D, contact with 7 Rocket. Firing." he relayed, as he loaded another in and watched them scramble for cover. [break][break]

The sun came out , blasting its heat down and he thought he almost spotted a paradox. "Pulling out all the stops to push." he murmured to himself as he waited, closing his one eye and picking a spot at random. He waited patiently, becoming stone itself. He's not sure how long passed, only that he saw movement. A head pops out of rock cover, to the side. He loads a shot into the chest, sending them off balance before pulled back behind the rocks for treatment. [break][break]

"Bad shot." he murmured, closing his eyes again as he ignored all the worst ones from before. As much as he hated Rocket, Kanto had shown him the benefits of a quick and easy death. It was less of risk for himself, and his team. Less time to watch someone grow desperate or struggle. The fear someone felt under the edge of his guillotine was enough. He's too far away to be bargained with. That would have to satisfy any need for revenge still burning in the pit of his stomach. Every Rocket he added tp the pile was revenge enough for him. If Rocket would act like monsters, he'd respond in turn like one too. Swiftly, and without mercy.

Dorian glanced over to the injured Rocket. Though the shot to the chest wasn't immediately fatal, the chances he'd make it were slim. Another Rocket desperately attempted to apply pressure to the bullet wound, to prevent his comrade from bleeding out. The white gloves of the Rocket were stained ruby red with his fellow Rocket's blood.

Rather than back down, and retreat from the area, Dorian decided to make the sniper pay. His rage and bloodlust overcame his better judgment.

Dorian sent out a Talonflame from his Pokeball. "Draw the sniper's fire! Tailwind!", Dorian orders, effectively sacrificing the Talonflame.

The Talonflame flies out, flying in a zigzag pattern. All the while, the flaming avian creates a Tailwind, in order to allow his team to move quicker.

Taking advantage of the situation, Dorian attempted to press up. Baron Bashington's fur began to glow, a Burning Bulwark forming. Dorian moved under the cover of his ancient Paradox Pokemon, pressing up towards more cover. Like their master, the Baron wanted to tear the responsible party to pieces. But the first priority was protecting their own. And if that meant drawing the sniper's attention to them, then so be it.

Whether the other Rockets joined him, or got out of there was up to them.

He loads another shot with ease as the Talonflame zips in the suddenly bright sky. The heat beats down on him and his partner. The Porygon keeps watch, triangle feet spinning as it charged up a TRI ATTACK and tried to smack down the dual type from the air, even against the strong wind it created in its flight. [break][break]

Paxton keep his eyes on the humans, waiting to catch them as they turn tail and ran. He's not sure what the plan is, but it's uncoordinated. Had they never heard of a sniper fire? How many times had Rocket attacked the League now? Well whatever. Easy targets. A couple of grunts chase after Dorian while a few others turn to the side and try to weave to their escape. He fires, dropping one and pulling up another shot. [break][break]

Is this what Navy had meant when he said big? Deadly? A hot casing rolls away and the top of his rip is hot. He takes aim at another runaway before firing. As the rifle hits the same, numb shot in his shoulder he grabbed another pokeball. The Gouging Fire is a familiar enough creature, and he didn't have much to combat it. "You're up, Victor!" he shouted as in front of their little nest the Raging Bolt appeared and issued a loud roar. The harsh sunlight only makes the sparking and glowing in the dual type's eyes brighter as he let off a dangerous DRAGON PULSE to stop Dorian's charge. [break][break]

Dorian looked behind him, only to find his fellow Rockets rushing after him. Much to his horror, they got cut down by sniper fire. "Stay in cover!", Dorian shouted at the others, pleading with them not to get themselves unnecessarily killed.

As the Tri Attack sailed through the air, the Talonflame pulled off a feat of Acrobatics, aided by the Tailwind he summoned earlier, that allowed him to dodge the attack with ease. Seeing where the sniper fire came from, the Talonflame descended towards the duo, attempting to dig his talons into the sniper.

Dorian and the Baron were met with a Raging Bolt. The ancient Raikou, taking advantage of the sunlight laid out by the Gouging Fire, loosed a mighty Dragon Pulse at the other dragon.

The Gouging Fire roared in pain, as the attack struck them. Despite this, they weren't done, as they charged the other beast, attempting to retaliate with a Crush Claw, the Tailwind allowing them to close the distance quickly.

Dorian waited with bated breath for an opportunity to arise. He needed to close in on that sniper, and fast. The fact that he was out of his element in dealing with a sniper was not missed. He was used to more direct confrontation than this. And if he didn't find a way to turn the tables soon, assuming his Talonflame failed, then it was game over.

The Talonflame lands, gripping at the arm that was holding up his rifle, forcing him to let out a sudden yell of pain. White hot claws burn and melt at his uniform and the talons pierce his arm and sear his flesh. He ripped his arm back, and Hopper came out, slamming into the bird to get it away form it's owner. Paxton nursed his burnt arm and moved back form the fight as the Porygon gave a sudden beeping warning.[break][break]

Paxton moves, and Hopper sparks with electricity before letting off its DISCHARGE. Paxton felt the sparks of proximity. and hustles to keep himself from attracting any of his partner's attack onto him. [break][break]

The RAGING BOLT didn't expect it's opponent's speed and roars again in pain, stumbling backwards from the blow. But Volta catches his breath and instead slams a foot forward swinging its long neck as it tried to bash the GOUGING FIRE's side with DRAGON HAMMER to knock it backward, unrelenting in its attempts to imitate a wall. [break][break]

Paxton can hear the pokemon clashing and tries to hold up his weapon. His arm shakes and the smell of burn skin and blood followed him. Still, maybe he can at least get one more shot off. He needed to swap positions, especially with Hopper distracted. Last he checked they were running. [break][break]

As the Talonflame descended onto the sniper, Dorian finally had his chance. While the Baron kept the Raging Bolt occupied, Dorian bolted towards the sniper's position, attempting to follow where the Talonfalme ended up.

The Talonflame made the most of his opportunity, doing his best to rip into the arm of the sniper. While he managed to sink his talons past the man's uniform, and into his arm, the Porygon cut his assault short.

Before he could properly retaliate, the Porygon unleashed a Discharge that managed to get him. The Talonflame let out a screech of pain, alerting Dorian to their position. Despite the pain, the Talonflame wasn't done yet. The flaming bird took to the skies, before descending down towards the Porygon in a Flare Blitz.

The Baron was struck by the Dragon Hammer, stumbling back. Stepping into the sunlight, the ancient Entei began to take in the Morning Sun, rejuvinating their body, and healing off the injuries they've incurred during the battle.

As Dorian attempted to creep up towards where the Porygon and Talonflame were fighting, and close to where his prey was, Dorian grabbed at a custom-made Luxury Ball, one that had been meticulously maintained. The Mad Dog was on the lookout for booby traps, or anything that could otherwise allow the sniper to get the drop on him.

Volta is panting, but he does not let up. Even as the Gouging Fire glows with healing power, the Raging Bolt only took a couple of steps backwards, planted his stance, and unleashed a ZAP CANNON to push back the fire beast. He aims to push for time and become the wall that the sniper desperately needed to reposition himself. Hopper for their part, nearly TELEPORTs away once Paxton makes a break for it. But with the Talonflame insistent, the little blue pokemon turns. Upon seeing the flaming assault it quickly summons another TRI ATTACK, hoping to keep the powerful fire type away but they struggle to charge up the blast in time. They're a little slow, and force of the bird flying into them pushes them back, but they glow with a strange reflective energy to protect themselves form the fire. [break][break]

"Enough!" As he watched the Talonflame surge towards his partner, Paxton loaded a round with a shaky hand and took aim. This closed and at this distance, it wouldn't be very good. But at this point, anything to get the pesky dual type away from him and his pokemon. [break][break]

People don't usually make it this close to Paxton when he sniped. That's what Hopper was there for. They made his quick getaway and they prepped other possible nests. But Hopper is occupied and so Paxton would have to handle the encroaching Mad Dog himself. He lefts off a shot, white hot casing flung out before snapping the weapon over his shoulder. "We're moving to position Bravo." he instructed the Porygon as he began to move backwards, a hand already reaching for a knife at his side. He hadn't had much time to survey the area aorund himself so better they turn tail now than wait for further attack. He turns to move, as quickly and quietly as possible. [break][break]

As the ancient Entei-like beast basked in the intense sunlight, they found themselves struck by a Zap Cannon. The Gouging Fire let out a cry of pain, feeling their muscles tense, as paralysis set in.

Despite this, the Paradox Pokemon managed to charge towards the Raging Bolt, attempting to maul them in a fit of Outrage.

A Tri-Attack hit the Talonflame, causing it to cry out in pain. Its muscles seized up completely, paralysis setting in. This allowed Paxton's shot to strike the bird, causing it to fall to the ground, spasming violently, before abruptly stopping.

Dorian tossed the ball aggressively towards the sniper, as if trying to bean him in the head. Whether successful or not, a red Genesect emerged from within. Downloading data from the opposition, the Genesect adapted to fit. From there, it attempted to run down the Porygon in a burst of Extreme Speed.

Dorian, seizing the opportunity, grabbed his club, and came at the sniper, attempting to strike him down. "You'll pay for what you've done, League scum!", Dorian bellowed at the man in a vengeful rage.

Volta, despite valiant efforts, isn't able to continue on. When the Gouging Fire isn't down by the ZAP CANON they begin the retreat only to cry out when the fire type mauls them in their OUTRAGE. The pain is intense, and after everything it's already been through, it faints and collapses. Paxton's hands are at his pokeball immediately, see the head above the trees fall. A beam of red light returns the paradox and he stashes his partner away for later. [break][break]

Hopper beeps, analysis on the Talonflame being conducted mere seconds after their trainer downs it. They approach the bird but see no signs of life, and beep a confirmed kill, eyes roving to the distance where Volta had fallen and expecting the appearance of the feral Gouging Fire next. Even so, Hopper floats back to orbit near Paxton as it keeps watch from their six. [break][break]

Paxton is barely able to get his partner back to him before the pokeballs smacks him upside the head. It doesn't take him out, but it is pretty annoying. "HEY!" he snapped before the pokeball released a shining red Genesect. This one most likely wasn't defective like the ones they'd collected during Sootopolis' aftermath. [break][break]

The Porygon is slammed backwards by the Genesect, beeping incredulously before attempting to shove it against a tree wit ha violent PSYCHIC attack. Paxton grunts at Dorian comes out of the shadows finally, eyes the large club. "FUCK!" He catches it, sorta, on his forearm, screaming as flesh bruises and bone possible cracks. He's not sure yet, everything is a blur right now. "That's my line you Rocket Bastard!" he snarled, lifting a leg to slam back his attacked and get the goddman club off of him. [break][break]

As the Gouging Fire took out the Raging Bolt, the rampant Paradox roars into the sky. Partially out of pride, primarily one of rage and bloodlust. But before they could change their target to the human, their muscles seize up, Paralysis taking hold.

Thanks to the Genesect's armor, the Psychic throw into the tree does little to deter the cyborg insect. The red bug pointed their cannon at the Porygon, attempting to wipe them out with a Techno Blast.

Dorian continued to bare the club down on the sniper, rage fueling his already immense strength in the moment. It wasn't until he was repelled by the kick that he let up. Dorian stumbled back, before catching himself.

"You're not like those craven do-gooders, are you? No, you're a killer, just like any Rocket worth their salt!", Dorian questioned the sniper, a sinister grin on his face. "I like that! No, I respect that!", Dorian added, before going in for round two.

This time, he moved to carefully size up what the knife-wielder was going to do next. Though he might've had range on his side, who knew what the man could do with a knife? For now, Dorian went in for a feinting blow towards the man's midsection.

Hopper can't take much more of these attacks and he says just as much with a sudden SOS beep, the raping electronic noises, high pitched and cutting through the danger of their encounter. As the Genesect encroaches and sends a terrifying blast, they TELEPORT pulling their attention towards the direction the Raging Bolt had come through. Better here where they could keep the pokemon's attention off their trainer. [break][break]

Paxton curses to the wind, his arm aching as he griped his weapon of choice tightly. He hadn't fought hand to hand this close in a long while. If he couldn't put space between this nest and the Rocket, he'd have to gather Hopper to retreat. But he can't do anything with Dorian so close. [break][break]

His words irritate him, mouth open with harsh pants as adrenaline mixed in with a sudden flash fire of fury that coursed through him to fight off the pain. Teal eyes sharpen, locking onto Dorian. Another target, another Rocket to mark and hunt. That's all he was really, in the end. But he'd be damned if he agreed with a terrorist. "I'm not anything special, just realistic." He thinks he might be able to out speed him. That club was heavy to wield. Anyone sensible would've dropped gear, but he wasn't about to give Rocket a gift. So when Dorian feints he side steps quick intent on round him to drive the knife into his side. [break][break]

"Don't pretend I'm anything like you!" The blood on his hands had always come with a cost. But whatever corruption he suffered through he would inflict that suffering ten fold onto Rocket. If they were going to turn him into a MONSTER,force to pull the trigger, then he'd be what they wanted. And he'd kill his creator while he was at it.

As the Porygon Teleported in, the Baron turned their attention towards them. The beast attempted to mow them down with their Raging Fury. They managed to stave off the effects of paralysis, only to stumble, and hurt themselves in the process. Most importantly, this left them opened to be finished off by Hopper.

"Something most of your compatriots clearly aren't.", Dorian retorted.

Dorian's eyes widened as the man slipped in, and managed to stab him in the side. As the sharp pain coursed through him, Dorian's grip on his weapon weakened, until it fell from his hand. Dorian grunted angrily, attempting to shove the man back, before he gripped his wounded side as tightly as he could, stepping back.

"You - you got me.", Dorian muttered, unable to respond to the man's other statement in his state.

The red Genesect, noticing that Dorian was injured, got between the two of them, cannon aimed at Paxton. The cyborg insect had one directive: protect their master.

Paxton doesn't respond immediately, his work speaking for itself, laser focused on a kill mission that had been hanging over his head since his days as a Captain in Kanto. While his body count wasn't nearly as high as Dorian's it was heavy all the same. "I've more than got you, scum." he snarled, pulling the blade back with force and leaving behind a messing wound. "Get a good look, Mad Dog, I want to see your eyes when you start to see the ghosts of every Kantonian you ever killed!" It's not a threat, but a promise. Paxton had never touched a weapon without the intent to kill. Whether it was his rifle or his scout's blade. He knew better than now. Even if the scar of it is erased from his neck. [break][break]

He's about to stab again when his bloody blade meets shiny red metal. It doesn't indent but he backs off all the same as the beetle robot covers for it's master and turns its weapons on him. [break][break]

The Porygon beeped frantically as the paradox closed in in and out of reality as it crashed through the underbrush, When it collapses the little polygonal bird gets ready to throw the beast as far away form them as possible, only to noticed their opponent has moved to intercept Paxton, and redirect the beast instead. The Porygon throws the Gouging Fire, at the Genesect and trainer hoping to intercept whatever canon blast it was about to let off.
