The gun was fired, the ringing of the bullet resounding in Melody's ears over and over and over. Yet, it never really happened did it? Melody watched as ameena instead missed her shot. "Wha?" she mutters, bewildered by what she observed or she THOUGHT she observed. [break][break]

That observation was cut short as Lucario managed to get a clean hit on Melody, the songbird's throat was punched and she's sent flying backwards. The surge of infinity energy from Meloetta's partnership with her makes it so she'll make a recovery but Melody's still reeling back. She coughs trying to find her voice, it was no throat chop but it was still effective. It seemed using her voice to assist Yuina was no longer an option. She couldn't even speak anymore as she tried to catch her breath.[break][break]

They were so focused on Yuina and Melody was proving to be ineffective to help her. What could she do? She saw Lulu Flint in front of her and pointed the baton right at her. Despite no words being muttered at the woman, she'd be able to feel melody's Maliciousness rising, a grin started with each passing tick as the music that played on the field slowly started to become distorted and changes almost instantly to match her emotions. [break][break]

Melody's hair began to float weightlessly as she raised the ground around herself. She circled her baton and pieces of the platform broke off and sharpened themselves into spears. Melody was going for blood now, with a flick of her wrist 3 sharp rock spears rushed towards not Lulu, or her houndoom, but instead they flew towards ameena abadi in an attempt to kill the woman. [break][break]

She didn't want any harm to come to Yuina, she had begun to grow attached to her. Meloetta feels melody's malice and becomes more aggressive as well, Meloetta's feet become covered in ice, creating glass slippers that rush forward towards HOUNDOOM as she tries to use TRIPEL AXEL to kill the pokemon.

The battle grew feral, aggressive, as the Pokemon continued to clash. Daikenki had tried to abstain from causing himself and the Houndoom more harm, the canine was on its last legs, but their would be ally wasn't through yet. The Samurott saw the malice, knew what the energy felt like, and found the intention clear as MELOETTA rushed towards the Houndoom. Daikenki howled as the Shadow Break made contact, and too tried to shield the Houndoom from some of the blow of Triple Axel, but both attacks simultaneously did him in as the water type was felled, the energy from Yuina's sygna suit fading and deactivating.[break][break]
In one single second, one single moment of time, everything took a turn for the worst, the chaos of it all feeding into the rampant fight. Yuina was stood, faced with the pink haired woman who's bullet missed, the gun still clutched in her hand. Melody's will inflicted upon her strained her senses, and there was a pull on her seamitar that she could feel, yet another will trying to enforce itself upon her. The panic began to mount in earnest.[break][break]
The other woman stalked towards her now, all but leaving Melody behind who was muted now at the strike to her throat, all attention was on her, everyone was watching her, disecting her every move... Yuina's hands began to tremble clutched to the hilt of her seamitar.[break]
"Wh-what? No, I'm not, I'm just a shadow," Yuina bit back, she wasn't an avatar, she couldn't be, not when her will belonged to so many others. In a feral rage, her main adversary took things to a drastic measure and pulled back her arm, throwing the entire firearm at Yuina.[break][break]
Yuina side stepped what would have been a hefty blow to her head if she'd allowed the gun to strike her, raising her seamitar to match the broad side of the blade to the woman lunging for her... But between the heightened will Melody inflicted upon her, and a hold that tried to draw her seamitar away from her, Yuina realized one second too late that she wasn't in full control of the blade's path...[break]
Crimson coated the blade's tip, Yuina paled, eyes fixated on the horrendous color, memory flashing to another wound she'd caused before... But still nothing stopped. Everyone was closing in on her, the Pokemon continued to fight, and Melody seethed in a fire fueled by power she still had yet to fully realize.[break][break]
Spears flew through the air, their intention clear, the woman obstructed by Yuina's own hand, and as her pulse beat in her ears, breathing strained and panicked, Yuina only had one thought.[break][break]
"STOP!"[break][break]
Her scream permeated the air, resounding with the final threads of space time snapping at her fingertips. The very fabrics of reality broke and gave way to the energy of a Distortion as it surged and burst out from around her, consuming both herself and Ameena in its wake. Within this domain, within what little control Yuina had, where she just wanted everything to stop, everything did. The spears that could have meant the woman's end hung frozen in the air, frozen in time, just behind her, caught within the flickering, unfocused haze of time being bent and shifted.

Ah, Lulu posits an interesting theory. It tracks: Yuina seems to hold some prowess over space-time all on her own as Celebi isn't around and doing it. But Yuina rejects the Avatarship claim. "A shadow?" She laughs, an unhinged sound clawing its way out of her throat. "Are you lacking in substance, my dear?" And then the gun's tossed, she's lunging, but she's not weighed Melody's influence as a variable - she's struck with the tip of the blade, her left eye screwed tight as a lick of blood follows the blade. [break][break]

Ameena's still carrying through with the movement, the soldier's instinct to continue in the face of adversity - but it's that tunnel vision that keeps her unaware of the spears heading her back (unaware of Lucario's desperate dash to save her, always the loyal companion, always so unlike Gardevoir in how he serves her above his own needs) - and then Yuina stops it. [break][break]

It's a familiar sensation. Nausea's flame is renewed in her gut. Vertigo fills her vision and the momentum of her lunge is brought to the ground as space-time flickers, holds. [break][break]

By the grace of Yuina's prowess, Ameena earns an opportunity to catch her breath. One hand braces her against the ground as the other cups her eye. The pain grounds her. The gun has fallen to the wayside. Her hair drapes over her shoulder and spills onto the earth alongside a few drops of blood that slip past her fingers. She owes her success as a soldier and a scholar to her obsessive personality and her ability to sacrifice everything for a sole goal... but she owes this failure to it, too. [break][break]

She turns to see the spears cradled by Yuina's willpower, then back to the Leaguer. She sees Yuina, for once, as she really is, no longer blurred by Gardevoir's malicious influence nor the veil of her own obsession. She sees herself, too, and her lip curls before she can control the expression. "I will remember this." The tone is absent of the emotionality of her prior statements but all the heavier, too. She rises to her feet and staggers backwards, still holding her injured eye as her working one flickers between Yuina's expression and the tinge of blood on her seamitar tip. [break][break]

She must step far enough to be accessible to Lucario again, for he follows through on his original intent and uses extreme speed to grab her and flee.

”a shadow?” lulu asked in unison with ameena, though it was no laugh. yuina’s answer was intriguing. however, her full attention was forced back onto melody. she did not see the blade go into ameena’s eye.[break][break]

maliciousness became palpable in the music that filled the air as the top champion’s baton was pointed at her. the head scientist raised her chin, defiance in burning amber eyes. her glare widened, however, as spears were pulled from melody’s earthen stage and sent in the direction of ameena with murderous intent.[break][break]

then, something shocking, and better than she’d imagined. a spacetime distortion’s familiar edge began to manifest, taking ameena and yuina into it. ”perfect,” she said under her breath. adrenaline coursed through her, out of both concern and excitement.[break][break]

the scream of celebi’s chosen had resonated with mercy – a foolish thing, but hopeful for ameena’s survival. with no ability to pull her out, lulu’s eyes settled back on melody .[break][break]

”just like the league, to go for the kill when the gun’s been thrown away and the odds are so tipped in your favor.” she sneered. her grudges surfaced for the likes of FERNANDO SILPH and Greyson Connors , and all others with seats at aqua’s table. ”a fitting representative you are for the scum who hold your leash.”[break][break]

a dusk ball, with dark crimson and the green of shaded forest, was held out to return the already falling body of her houndoom – just in time to avoid meloetta’s deadly triple axel.[break][break]

she reached for a beast ball, and soon the silhouette of a large celesteela appeared in front of her, obscuring her from sight. once it was clear ameena had successfully fled, she stepped onto one of its boosters from behind. substitute illusions of the scientist appeared around melody, to distract from the escape. fire roared against the ground, then, sending the ultra beast, lulu, and lunatone skyward and away.[break][break]

shortly after, she spoke over comms. ”ameena, where are you?”[break][break]

It seems like the distractor of pointing the baton to lulu yet attacking Ameena wasn't successful. But no thanks to the rockets, instead her own ally stopped her. She pauses, shocked by Yuina's actions. "What?!" she shouts, her voice horse from the attack earlier, it was quickly recovering.. [break][break]

Yuina stopped her attack, creating a distortion in the area around them causing all the inanimate objects around them to freeze. "No!" she shouts in response to Yuina's attempts to thwart melody. She had to establish herself as a threat to rocket, she had to protect Yuina, why was yuina working against her?! How was she able to stop her?! [break][break]

Melody froze, that gap in time allowed the two rockets to not only recover but escape, one of them taunting her in response as well.
A dog, she was called. "Takes one to know one!" she screams out loud. "Go back to daddy walsh, let him know I'm coming for him and monroe!" she taunts in response. [break][break]

As Multiple illusions appeared around her and Melody took action, she let out a weak scream and used her powers to amplify it, sending out a shockwave and hitting them all at once. But it was too late, they were both gone. She turned to yuina and stared daggers at her, "What was that?!" she asks her as she throws her hands up, the platform slowly descending into the ground and melody steps off it. [break][break]
