[attr="class","box"]He never envisioned himself going to a Gym again. Not willingly, at least. That part of his life was done and he wasn't eager to return to it any time soon. The Mauville City Gym was just as vibrant as the City itself; Josh had done a good job with it since he became the Gym Leader. It was hard to imagine Mauville City without Josh and his Gym there.[break][break]

Kōji found himself heading up to the front doors of the Gym, a massive complex that held all kinds of racetracks and courses for young Trainers to compete in the Gym Challenge. He actually had never competed in this new Gym himself; Josh Devlin had only been the Gym Leader for a couple years. His hand stayed on the handle of the door for a moment, and he looked down at the Sylveon at his side. "Ready for this, Sakura?" he murmured to his companion, who waved her tail and reached up one of her ribbons to rest it on his hand. "Yeah, we haven't done one of these in a while..." A sigh escaped his lips, a resigned sigh, and together he and Sakura pulled the door open and stepped inside.[break][break]

The atmosphere even in just the Gym lobby was electrifying. A pit settled in his stomach. It was noisy and bright and it made Kōji want to run back home and hide under some blankets with his Pokémon. Sakura seemed to sense his unease and bumped her shoulder against his leg reassuringly. "Veee~...!" Frowning, he reached down to pat her on the head. "You're right, I know...It's a good opportunity for us."[break][break]

He willed himself to move again and walked over to the front desk. A secretary girl was sitting there typing away on a computer and he cleared his throat awkwardly to get her attention. "Hi, excuse me, I'm Kōji Morishita, I'm here to see Josh?" At her blank stare, he added desperately, "It's for the job interview."
