She has a remarkably kickable face. Annalise's temper is remarkably similar to June's, now that the admin thinks about it. No wonder June ended up in Ultra Plant, with someone like this driving her forward. It's a perfect recipe to bring out the best and worst in a person when their time is spent looking into a mirror.

Annalise spoke. He listened. The restraint she tried to keep in check is quickly capered out as he grabbed her wrist with a hand as cold as ice.

"Back off, bitch. His voice is low and flinty. "She's mine."

The last time he had heard those words, June had spoken them as she ripped into a cop. There was a small part of his soul that was immensely pleased at the prospect of doing it for her. The notion of something coming full circle greatly appealed to the archaeologist.

History was a cycle, after all.

"Do it right now. Kill me. Do it here. Prove my colleague right and bash my head against the table. Turn Eva's message into ash." His words are taunting, goading. The prospect of this becoming a regionwide incident was one that Mint and Barnaby would love to sink their teeth into. "Regieleki is mine. Do you know why it's with her instead of me?"

His breath steamed, as if the air around him was freezing.

"Because I don't need it yet."

As mint frost speaks, her heart drops. Even in death that woman still haunted Melody with her past horrors.

She stares at the reflection in her glass, almost hearing madeleine's laugh coming out of robin coello's mouth as they visted the borders. Melody's grip on the drink in her flute tightens. She instantly starts to take a drink to bite her tongue, she couldn't speak if her mouth was preoccupied with the beverage inside of it.

It took everything inside of her to not answer back to him. But she'd never forget that comment, she'd get her revenge on him eventually for such a nasty statement and she'd make him beg for his life. She mutters something to herself, and suddenly melody seems right back to normal. As if nothing happened when her gaze shifts to annalise henderson. She sees the woman interacting with the admin she had made a promise to.

She could feel it, the raw anger and bloodlust she felt in that moment and just when melody thought she would act on it. Annalise instead pats him on the shoulder and walks away. She applauds her restraint against them.

Melody looks over to freya morningstar and tries to shift the tone away from rocket. "So freya, how come you never told me you had a cousin before?" she asks her as Melody is curious about roy.

Even if june sleigh didn't believe in him. He turned away, a Bagon brownie placed between his fingers. It disappeared into the helmet, and was swallowed up without a second thought.

"And if you love anyone in this world, I hope that you'll eventually believe the same. Maybe you'll even understand the nuance of the human heart. Somehow, I doubt that'll come to pass. Love is a remarkably complicated thing, see."

He stepped away, passing Freya and Eva and all the rest of them. They could mock and deride his actions all they wanted, but when Eternatus was dead and buried, and the dream of Galar was avenged, the admin's purpose would be complete.

"It's the reason Kyle's dead, after all. Matias never did learn to understand the human heart. Though I suppose that's Melody's story to tell, isn't it?" He gave Melody Miro a nod as he left the venue behind with a few grunts by his side. "I'd like to take your gym challenge while I'm in town, Melody. I shall meet you where your gym once stood."

And like that, Admin Fox was gone.

Frankly, with the way that the party's tone had shifted to something far less festive or hopeful, Makoto was eager to take the party winding down as an excuse to depart. It felt strange to be still in their civilian facade, whilst other Rocket members were waltzing about as if they owned the joint. But they didn't exactly want to join Rocket in the 'debates' that were taking place here.

It all was beginning to feel like like a measuring contest, more than anything. Who had the biggest stick to swing around, to try and win the people to their side. It was exhausting them a bit.

They take the provided pamphlet, the offered care kit... And slip out amongst the other civilians departing, back into the city at large.

Makoto really wanted to figure out a new home, someplace a whole lot dryer.

freya turns wearily from her cousin and to her pop star friend.

"have you known me to talk about things like that?" she says, eyes elsewhere - looking at annalise as she leers over admin fox - but upon realizing she'd snapped, she stiffens, takes a breath, and says, "it was recent. we met and realized we were related on the same day."

it's not uncommon knowledge that freya is an adopted child to the morningstars, and though her draconid roots have been loosely shared in tandem with her avatarship research with sapphire, she's never truly considered the part of her that is a zinnia.

in parting, howard slayte throws one last shot at melody. freya bites her lip, narrowly avoids drawing blood, and exhales.

"you and i should talk about rebuilding the spire. now that we have a foothold, we can. we can move forward."
