six weeks have passed since the battle of sootopolis that ended in an unwilling stalemate, though it has become clear that their side has come out slightly ahead as perceptions continue to shift in their favor.[break][break]

as things begin to settle, so too will the becketts.[break][break]

of course not. Raziel Beckett has never been here, but he has seen something similar in kanto.[break][break]

Raziel easily follows along with the other, more than willing to spend any time his mentor would allow by their side. Honestly he was just happy to be out of the sub and on the land to explore. Too long had he been suck down there and so when Theo offered to show him his home to see if memories would return of course he would've said yes. [break][break]

"Hmmmmm..." he tries to think about it trying to scramble his brain for any sort of familiarity, yet the only one that came to mind was from Kanto, "Sorry nothing is sparking, but I still think your collection is neat!" he tells him as he moves in to look at the fish he did have. His attention going over to the tank of Wishiwashi as his good eye follows their movements.[break][break]

"So you live in the shop then?"

As usual Raziel is quick to follow his mentor taking in the tank of bruxish. They were an odd fish but with their more predetor nature he supposes he could see their appeal in that. Though he pauses at the mention of war and take a moment to think about it. Seeing their time now as the same weeks before their forces went full force against Kanto when they took that over. "We have some sort of treaty or something there right?" he questions trying to recall the lessons that they went over before before looking to Theo. [break][break]

"But isn't Slateport one of their bigger cities? How would this place be any safer sir?"

When nothing else is said about it he knows better than to ask for more information. Raizel knows well that if he needed to know about it he would be told about it. Otherwise he would leave it at that as most of his question asking had long since been beaten out of him. So he keeps it to himself for now wanting to keep on Theo's good side. That's all that mattered to him if the disguise he had his Zorua make up wasn't proof enough of that. [break][break]

At the mention of living there he perks up a bit out opening before shutting itself again. He doesn't want to assume, but there is some sort of hope there as he can't help but ask, "'We'? Like.... I can.... I can come live with you?" he questions rubbing his arm with some nervousness at the possible rejection.

years ago, Victoria Beckett had visited him and dragged him out of the pits of slateport to move to the much nicer sootpolis. she found this place disgusting and beneath them, while he found it quaint and apt. he wonders what Raziel Beckett thinks of it now.[break][break]

"I mean I didn't mind taking your name, I don't see why I would mind living with you too," he jokes in response the smile on his face was clear as he was excited at the idea of feeling like he lived in a home again. The room in the sub was fine for what it was, and despite his current issues with his father and family, he had spent so long following a routine that the month not following it felt off. [break][break]

"Ummmm.... are there.... uhhh do you have any house rules to go by? I-I know you're probably sick of me of me saying this but dad had a lot of rules in the home to live by too and I just wanted to make sure that I'm not violating anything," he questions a bit more nervous as he knows he has brought up his father's rules on more than one occasion, but after 17 years of following a routine it was hard to break. Especially when breaking said rules usually meant pain. [break][break]

So far Theo has done no such thing to him, nor does he expect it. Yet that underlining threat of being sent back after just waking up in panic left a harsh impression.

"Am I ever not?" he quips back with some jest but then he does suppose that he did get into a fight with a higher up. So technically that could count, though it would seem unfair to count a single incident after countless years of obedience. "I mean of course sir," he corrects himself as a just in case, Theo has done a lot for him and if respect was all he was asking in return Raziel was more than happy to give. [break][break]

After he just follows the other towards the apartment level of the store, scooping up his Zorua as he drops the illusion and pets the little fox to show how grateful he was for it's efforts. After he takes in the apartment noting the wear and tear of the place and wonders if it was bought this way or if the older man just didn't have the time to spruce it up. Either way it didn't bother him, gave it a bit of a lived in feel to it, besides he was sure with some elbow grease it could look better. If time allowed it of course though something catches his attention when he mentions the rooms as this place didn't seem big enough for three people.[break][break]

"Does Victoria not live with you?" he can't help but question, he may not like the other's daughter but he had mentally prepared himself to life with her if needed. Though even more distressing than that was him admitting to not being there often, and he can't help but worry on that. [break][break]

"Was that because you just lived else where?" he can't help but question slightly distressed on the news, "Or will you continue to not be here often?" he continues his questions, hoping for the former.

Of course she would scoff at this place. Yet another large difference in both their personalities, or maybe just a result of their upbringing. Where she was always given the choice for better thanks to Theo, Raziel just took whatever was given to him, least that's how he saw it. Though there is some pity when the other describes his relationship as toxic with his daughter. A small part of him wondering if some of it stems with Theo's decision to take him in. "Oh I see... sorry for bringing it up," though it wasn't like Victoria Beckett and him didn't have their fair share of fights for the man's attention. [break][break]

"For what it's worth I don't think you're that bad a dad," he offers after a small moment of silence to try and gather his thoughts. "I don't think you were perfect," heck with the way this man hurt emotionally like when he had pushed him away years back, "but I'm sure you tried and... and you didn't treat her like my dad did me," he offers wondering if it would help at all. Unlike his relationship with his dad, Raziel is sure the two Becketts could work things out. [break][break]

"Ah I see ummm would I just be expected to stay here then? Or could I join you on the jobs?" he can't help but ask, not really sure where he really belonged in the organization now that he didn't have a connection to the labs anymore.

Raziel just makes a mental note of what not to bring up for now. Feeling that maybe it could be something to address later as he can't help but feel he'll have to also confront the other's daughter eventually on his own and they would have to deal with this. For now he nods in fake understanding as if he had any clue as to what an Underboss did. Hell besides training he wasn't even sure of the man's duties as an admin. [break][break]

Though he can't help but look a bit dejected when his weakness is pointed out. That fear of being abandoned for it unable to help but creep in at the back of his mind. "I swear I'm trying sir, I've caught more pokemon, I'm training them, and I've been making sure to keep up with the physical therapy to try and get my hand back to what it was," he proclaims as he shows the other his trying for a fist. Something he couldn't do a month back though if Theo were to try and test his grip the best comparison it would be to that of a child's. [break][break]

"What more can I do to get stronger?"

there is a ways to go before Raziel Beckett reaches the level of competence razz kingsman was once at. while he could provide a clearer roadmap, he would much rather see the boy get there himself. he did it once, after all, so he should be able to do it again.[break][break]
