"look..." the one thing that stood out the most from all their attempts were @eliajh's seed bombs. the tentacle had detached from one of the scientists nape. some progress was made, cadis would use the earpiece to issue an order. ", your breloom seems to have done something. can you try doing what you just did again?" he requested. for now decidueye remained on standby, maneuvering to cadis's side as he stood beside the oran berry tree.

he'd issue an observation. "i think breloom's seed bombs might've had some effect. perhaps grass-type moves have some sort of effect on it? either way, we'll try together. let's test our theory, shall we?" to decidueye cadis would order, "decidueye, fly above and remain at a diagnol position. use leaf storm upon the beast!" orders given, decidueye maneuvered into the sky. making sure not to peer overhead, decidueye remained several meters from the unknown creature's location.

gathering its attack, it'd release a slanted grassy funnel toward it from above. attempting to hit the main body.


notes:
- an observation was made: may be weak/effected by grass-type moves. only an assumption.
- cadis remains beside the oran berry tree.
- decidueye used leaf storm from above.

this was a tiny bit rushed. pls excuse my poor energy.

flinching at the sudden loud noise, priam wonders if he has to suffer from screeches throughout the raid.

he watches his arcanine's attack be repelled like it was nothing, sliding off of the unknown pokemon's surface like it was nothing. "fire isn't effective at all!" he tells everyone within the comms, ire evident in his voice. "and it didn't even get poisoned earlier!"

the arcanine is returned to its pokeball until the next time priam finds use for it. his head tilts up, looking at the skarmory from the sky. a finger blocks the comms device's mic for a moment as he barks an order to the flying-type.

"skarmory, stealth rocks and then come back!"

a layer of rocks from the skarmory surrounds the ultra beast and the scientists in an effort to limit their movement before the flying-type flies back to priam. he recalls it back to the pokeball as well in favor of another pokemon. he releases another one out.

"be wary, espy. calm mind for now."

and the espeon did.

Thoughts race as Kingsley cards a hand over his jaw, dark brows furrowing. Five possible choices: dragon, fire, rock, ground, or water. The tentacruel like appearance makes Kingsley think of water. The seed bombs, too, seem effective in contrast to earlier attacks. Water type seems increasingly more likely.

Cadis gives one command and Kingsley gives another: "Someone hit it with an electric type move!"

His eyes snap to the Audino. "Use reflect."

The Pokemon makes a noise in response before she summons forth a transluscent shield. As she does this, Kingsley summons another Pokemon. His own Espeon lands at his feet, an order given before it has even fully formed: "Use helping hand on Decidueye."

The Espeon's eyes snap to the flying bird. A faint aura surrounds it before it transfers to Cadis' pokemon to empower the leaf storm.

"you got it boss." after pulling his fingers away from the earpiece, elijah directs his breloom to continue its onslaught- but with the specific addendum of movement.

to stay in one place may be worrisome. he sees the braviary knocked out of the sky. how it falls like a shot albatross.

with a spry cry, the fungal kangaroo complies. alongside his frogadier, which darts from branch to branch, the breloom strafes, firing a relentless stream of SEED BOMBS at the tentacles' points of attachment.

elijah hopes her aim is good.

"looks like there's something like acid inside its body." elijah cringes, and his jaw settles uneasily below his scowl. the sounds of a melting earth settle like a curse in the marrow of his bones.

pressing upon his earpiece once more, he continues. "i'd be careful of hitting that ugly thing face-to-face."

the ever changing threads of fate conjoined for only the briefest of moments; but in that blink of an eye ricky saw the horrors that would be inflected unto them and with those terrifying revelations, the psychic kickback sent the love bat flinching into goro's chest with an "Oomf!" from the dastardly disguiser. He patted the bat Pokemon, cooing, "there, there... we'll try again soon." his voice took on a more serious tone, akin to that of elijah even, as he barked orders. "katya, sword strike." the dodrio began to bob its heads this way and that, in a sword's dance before charging forward with its enhanced speed in a jump kick at the nearest tentacle.

"i think the garden boy has a point; we should focus on the tentacles before attacking the head... thing." goro added.

@kingsley 's HELPING HAND allows 's decidueye to conjure up a vicious LEAF STORM. the funneled attack is focused and acts like sandpaper against the nihilego's smooth body, scratched up by an infinite amount of invisible chips. the damage is far from irreparable but it cements their first step toward literally whittling the pokemon's health. unfortunately, such minor damage doesn't seem to back up their initial claim. [break][break]

has no trouble with setting up a perimeter of STEALTH ROCKS. they levitate in an entombed formation around the battle field and have yet to trigger. although the scientist have retreated to the nihilego, the newfound obstacles will prove an ample barricade to prevent them from roaming too far off. well, those that can still roam, some of the tethered scientist are reduced to crawling, missing their lower limbs but otherwise unfazed albeit bleeding out in with a purple ACID. [break][break]

's breloom does not let up. it remains mobile and the SEED BOMBS hit the tentacles with a generous accuracy. several hit the tentacles' point of attachment and those that bounce off do nothing. it is the seeds the explode upon impact, the force of the combustion, that produces enough force that dislodges flesh from glass. those that end up release splutter out a vile purple as they become an inanimate mass of melting goo. [break][break]

's dodrio takes a moment to perform its SWORDS DANCE and thanks to the wide window of inactivity presented by the mysterious pokemon goro's dodrio is able to land a solid strike on the pokemon's tentacles. the jump kick has enough force to wrench the tentacle loose and the bird's gravity lodges it onto the floor. however, being forcibly torn away causes the tentacle to continue to spew out an ACID that splashes onto the dodrio and burns into its feathers and body. the liquid is corrosive and doesn't stop at the feathers like most poisons. it eats into the flesh and leaves exposed wounds that burn with pain. at least that one tentacle seems to have been crushed, spilling wildly due to the sheer strength of the dodrio's strength.[break][break]

the pokemon has remained relatively docile until now but with the amount of scientist decreasing so will the pokemon's inactivity. the last SCREECH was the last real sign of sentience the pokemon's displayed and it reacts with a newfound suddenness that feels eerily menacing. the hundreds of tentacles that drape out of the pokemon's body flounder and TICKLE the ground in a frenzy, stringing the scientist around like ragdolls with little care for their well being. the main body is the puppeteer and it presents the scientist in the direction of 's breloom, ' decidueye, and where 's arcanine was. [break][break]

"SCREEEEE." [break][break]

the high pitch SCREECH from the scientist dies immediately when they vomit out a thick stream of ACID SPRAY. the potent poison will burn through flesh and protections alike. @kingsley 's REFLECT will do little to diminish the special attack but the sound of something burning sizzles as the liquid passes through hints at the capabilities of the attack. even the MISTY TERRAIN reels back anywhere that the poison lands, maintained but with noticeable blotches where the attack lands. those hit will feel the full effects of the corrosive attack, losing their abilities due to being VENOM DRENCHED. [break][break]

the moment it began to fling the scientists about, cadis would extend deicdueye's pokeball, an order given, "return, decidueye." with his grass-type recalled, he'd come to remain behind the oran berry tree. "little effort was done on our end, i suppose grass-types moves aren't effective. they only just annoy it, like sand paper..." what was his next option?

looking at his pokeball, he'd come to call out STARMIE and DRAGALGE, "use WATER PULSE and PSYCHIC." targeting the ENEMY, a chromatic beam of energy was lunged toward the jellyfish. though, not alone, a SPHERE OF WATER was, too, lunged toward it alongside the PSYCHIC ENERGY. attempting to see if that would do anything.

as cadis hid behind the tree, his dragalge and starmie would come to reveal themselves. attacking as they stood beside the oran berry tree. "honestly, we'll just have to hit it with every type in the book." on the communicator, he'd say, "let's try our best to get rid of the of those corpses it's flinging around. try to sever the tentacles everyone."



notes: honestly, my mood isn't the greatest atm and idk what i just wrote. but this post is severely weak and i just...wanted to get this post out now. so, if i missed anything, pls let me know.

- returned decidueye.
- called out dragalge and starmie, used water pulse and psychic at niheligo.
- made a comment that we should try to hit it with every type in the book, and also try to get rid of the rest of those corpses.

Kingsley takes a step back, lips peeling back as he watches the ground rot underneath the splatter of purple. His eyes snap upward and his Audino clings tighter to his side. At Cadis' command, he grabs two more pokeballs: a gliscor and froslass are called out.

The Froslass hovers at his side, hands presed to her mouth. The massive gliscor hovers in the air, tail twitching like a rattle, a warning.

"Swords dance into earthquake. Ominous wind."

The Gliscor's eyes flash. Its body trembles further, energy barely contained. It rises into the air and then strikes down, tail slicing through the ground a few feet in front of Kingsley. The ground splits forward until the area underneath the scientists and creature are caught in the attack.

The Froslass, too, attacks. A vicious wind tears through the scientists and towards the monster.

"fucking weirdo! there's no one there!" he yells when the tentacle goes to where his arcanine once was instead of other targets. "ya blind or something?" he taunts. he'll get no response from it, but he does it anyways.

the acid was dangerous, though danger wasn't exactly new for priam. he faces the unknown pokemon without faltering, wearing a determined expression for throughout the battle.

"you're up again, skar-skar!"

priam tosses a pokeball in the air, releasing the skarmory he just recalled. the avian flies straight up into the skies, circling the target until priam calls out a command for it. "steel wing!" iron blades for its wings would attempt to slice against a section of the tencacles as it swoops in, stealth rocks ready to contain them should they hit the skarmory while it draws near it. nevertheless, the action was quick and it doesn't take more than a second before the flying-type moves away.

he turns to his espeon, unsure if he'd still try to throw out a move whose typing differs from the other moves already thrown. he complies with the instruction of hitting it with every type regardless, despite both typings that do not get affected by poison resisting the type of the move he'll yell.

"and you. there was a dramatic pause before he points to the target in an equally dramatic manner. "dazzling gleam!"

light emanates from the espeon, hitting the ultra beast as soon as the skarmory is away from it.

tl;dr:

elijah's lips curl like a burning strip of bitter paper. pressing against his earpiece as he catches his frogadier's attention, he says in a hurried script: "maybe the answer's not grass- it's force! explosions!"

whipping a directive finger toward breloom's location, elijah tongues his command.

"substitute!" frogadier, in its persistent patrol, leaps from the branches.

arcing before breloom, frogadier disappears into a mottle of smoke. from the resulting cloud, its substitute (a tree log) descends, hoping to act as a defensive barrier against the VENOM DRENCH.

elijah asks breloom to retreat toward the standing log, fearful that a strafe to the side or backwards would unwittingly place it in the spray's direction.

goro winced as he watched the acid of the monster burn through his dodrio’s feathers and flesh alike. ”fighting and grass seem to be doing the job... maybe it’s a rock type?” he questioned aloud hoping of one of the others would pick up on the clues. meanwhile, the rocket recalled the three headed bird with a flash of red light it was safe in its pokeball.

as the earthquake rumbled goro produced another pokeball to release his flygon, solange. ”ricky, give ‘em a kiss. solange rock this thing’s world.” he ordered to the two pokémon flying in the air. the swoobat released a powerful HEART STAMP at the nearest tentacle while the flygon unleashed its SUPER POWER.

[attr="class","anyapost"]she is dealing with other matters when she gets the call. unlike her rocket counterparts, she is not in a position to engage with the threat immediately. 

(this is what she tells herself as she toils over her work.)

but there is a calling she cannot resist. and so it is with a churning belly, sweat in her palms, that she dons her jacket and rides to battle. she has a camera mounted on her shoulder, so that she might reflect upon this encounter later. 

katya flies low over the treetops; the monster is visible above them. and she has no idea the state of her companions until she comes upon the clearing.

curiosity, insatiable interest takes over, and her shaking hands are steeled. she gracefully slips off the back of the oversized bird, keeping far back behind her companions so she doesn't draw the beast's attentions. 

some of their pokemon look battered, a bit bruised, but they've held themselves strong. she observes the beast, its frenzied tentacles skirting over half-torn bodies, puddles of putrid muck staining the grass. 

she drops two pokeballs. shiva and kain stand before her, half-crouched, waiting. 

"fowl here with reinforcements. waiting for instruction."

Alakazam returned; the lesions upon its skin festering as it sat itself by Desmond's side.[break][break]

There was a moment of silence from the Head Scientist as he held his hiding spot, watching the events unfold without his interference. His psychic pokemon took that chance to display the full extent of its injuries. With his attention split, there was only so much that he could garner from the sections of its body that had almost burst.[break][break]

It was like filling a balloon with too much air; the skin had been stretched too thin from where the power had been absorbed, and it had sought an exit to relieve the pressure.[break][break]

This creature was far stronger than it appeared to be.[break][break]

“Livius. Telekinesis,” and he would issue those commands as the voice of greeted his ear-piece; he would press his thumb against the device to speak, “Right on time. Keep your distance, and be aware that it has proven resistant to fire attacks.”[break][break]

The Alakazam would close its eyes, raising a trembling and split hand to cast its psychic energy towards the creature.[break][break]

“I'll be testing the effectiveness of psychic attacks—I'll continue to try and nail down its typing,” and the psychic attack would raise nearby rocks and other rough projectiles that the forest could offer; they were launched at high speed, aiming to collide against the glass-like hide of this suspended creature.[break][break]

tldr: alakazam uses telekinesis and psychic. desmond is pondering if psychic attacks will be effective.

The potency of the ACID SPRAY is no joke. It eats through anything that stands in its way with a gluttony that demands sacrifice. Luckily, had recalled his Decidueye while 's Arcanine isn't even in the vicinity. It is 's Breloom that finds out first-hand how lethal the attack can be. The Frogadier may have lined up a perfect SUBSTITUTE but the attack will impart a lesson devised by a full time teacher, cutting through the clay doll with impunity, soaking the fellow poison type in a copious amount of digestive fluids. The VENOM DRENCH renders the Pokemon's POISON HEAL useless and even with the ability the severity of the poison isn't something a regular Pokemon can handle. The Breloom cries out in pain as the Pokemon literally starts to melt before you. [break][break]

Numerous attacks are launched against the giant Nihilego and some seem more effective than others: [break][break]

' WATER PULSE seems to brush off the Pokemon's glass surface, doing little more than spit washing its reflective surface. His PSYCHIC seems to do more, discoloring the spot that it hits with a bright pink tinge. [break][break]

@kingsley 's OMINIOUS WIND seems to do nothing and the Pokemon remains unfazed. The scientist seem to sway with the unnatural breeze but that means little when the ground splits from his Gliscor's EARTHQUAKE. Split earth opens up a small chasm and they fall in, spewing out more poison that continues to erode at the ground but proves harmless to those on ground level. The upheaval of debris strikes at the Nihilego and small scratches can be seen on its surface. [break][break]

is one of the few that call for a physical attack and his Skarmory comes in close with an alarming speed. The STEEL WING glides across the surface but is unable to cut into the material, scratching it with the sound of nails against a chalkboard. Unfortunately, coming in close allows the tentacles to lash out to entangle the Pokemon, poison bleeding through microscopic pores and melting through rock and steel alike. The STEALTH ROCKS that look to intercept end up being melted while the Pokemon's steel armor crumples like aluminum. The bird gives one final squawk as poison oozes into some of its internal organs, rendering it limp as the poison dissolves it into scrap metal. [break][break]

The much safer DAZZLING GLEAM finds its mark and with a concentrated blast, the glass turns a heated orange from enough exposure. [break][break]

's attempt has mixed results. His Swoobat's HEART STAMP pushes the tentacle back but it lashes out like bent bamboo, tilting in one direction until the tensions snaps and swings back at the Pokemon. The whip like motion of the tentacle is enough to wrap around the Swoobat and CONSTRICT it in the same manner as 's Skarmory, melting it until it fulfills its FUTURE SIGHT. Rest in peace. [break][break]

The Flygon almost suffers the same fate however its SUPER POWER beats back any invasive tentacles that stray too close. The further they snake out the more brittle they seem as the Flygon smashes them into crystalline shards. [break][break]

@desmond 's Alakazam attempts to hold the Pokemon with its TELEKINESIS. Like 's Meowstic, Alakazam will struggle to immobilize the Nihilego. The Ultra Beast resists in FRUSTRATION but the Alakazam feels a resurgence of strength, pushing the extent of its PSYCHIC powers. Lifting up nearby debris is child's play despite the struggle to prevent the Nihilego from moving and they pelt the Pokemon, scratching it much like the other projectile based attacks. [break][break]

What the Alakazam falters against is the mental intrusion happening invisible to human eyes. Despite its intelligence, it'll be unable to multi-task to the degree of letting the others know that something is probing against it, mentally assaulting the Pokemon with an energy that is not only invasive but eagerly curious to communicate with the Pokemon. A blue hue starts to outline the jellyfish Pokemon as it charges up an attack. [break][break]

Note: Alakazam holds Nihilego in check due to TELEKINESIS. If Alakazam stays on the field, roll on your next post. [break][break]

[attr="class","anyapost"]she keeps off the front lines and listens carefully to desmond's information. the beast crushes and melts and destroys her companions' pokemon without a thought and she is unblinking, skin tingling, a fervent interest in her eyes. 

its poison can melt organic flesh in an instant. oh, what they could accomplish with such a thing. but is such a power tamable? 

her talonflame is uneasy and settles on a branch above her. she recalls it and drops another pokeball. a fennekin appears and the fox startles at the sight of the monstrosity before them. she settles at anya's feet, ears flat against her head. shiva and kain look nonplussed. 

"bolster the terrain. we will provide support for now." the fennekin's ears twitch and a soft glow gathers around its fur. it ripples at the edges of the pokemon's form and then expands outward, like an elastic band snapping, engulfing desmond's alakazam in the psychic terrain.

"prepare your hyper beams should we draw its attention. stay on guard," anya orders her lions.
