[attr="class","hearmenand2"]Sauntering into the battle tent earlier that evening, getting dragged in with the wrong sort of crowd by the allure of paraphernalia, Adrian decided it was as good a waste of his evening as languishing in his apartment. Though not a frequenter of these battles, he could enjoy the spirit of the contest, and the willingness of some pokemon and their trainers. But at times it could prove to be overly cruel, and he regretted some of the matches he'd come to watch, wishing there was a bit more regulation.

Tonight was shaping up to be one such night, as round after round he watched pitiful, one-sided displays that made him cringe. His nerves were already shot from the pills and the clamor of riotous jeering from the crowd, but watching one pokemon pummel another helpless contestant just made him want to fight on reflex alone. At some point he rudely called out the contenders, boasting that he could do way better...

...And that's how he got roped into a battle.

Adrian was in a haze; he felt as giddy and pleasant as he did anxious. But there was an unmistakable smirk as he felt the crowd's focus upon him, a sort of natural high that never left him wanting. Raising his hands emphatically, he edged on the crowd, causing an uproar. "C'mon, where's my opponent? Scared I'm gonna beat his ass?!" Some went wild while others viewed him harshly and with skepticism, perhaps detecting the faint hint of eccentricity while he was under the influence of illicit substances.

Bryan had heard rumors from roaming around on the streets. Illegal battles that don't follow the normal rules were being held and rocket was involved. Therefore Bryan was now involved with it, he had been watching most of the battles with a bottle in hand and lily's poke-ball in another. He watched as the battles ended rather quickly one after another.

The pit was doing rather well for the night, maybe it was also the drinks talking but now he wanted to throw his hat in the ring himself. There also seemed like there was someone else who was letting these illicit substances get to them as well. Pffft, maybe this would make for a decent battle or a good show.[break][break]

Bryan took a swig of his drink and moved towards him. "It's me." he said with a small smirk on his face, he hadnt battled in ages. Rocket hadn't really asked him to do much lately so he was itching to get into a scrap. "Are you ready? If you came here talking that much smack you better be ready for a challenge." he asked his face a bit red from the drinks as he tossed out his liligant onto the battle. She stood there looking around, confused for a moment but getting a bit excited that Byran had chosen her for a battle. She turned to him and clapped her leafs together and rushed over to hug him.[break][break]

"Wai-WAIT LIL- LILY FOCUS PLEASE WE'RE GONNA BATTLE." he started to shout a bit, she did always get excited to see him. He finally got her to focus and let go of him where she looked towards Adrian with both of her leafs curled up like fists and aimed punches in the air at him. She was signaling she was ready as well Bryan guessed.

Adrian pressed his tongue against his cheek, cocking his eyebrows upward with a jolt in a taunting gesture. He was only further affirmed when the opposing trainer released a Liligant. Howitzer would've made this contest all to simple, a one-sided conflict with no purpose but as a beatdown. If it was to be any challenge, he'd have to try and levy the odds in the stranger's favor, but not enough to cut himself short. He chose Furor.

Ripping the pokeball from his belt and hefting it in his hand, juggling it a few times tentatively, Adrian tossed it towards the center of their stage. Unleashing a shiny Gyarados in a crimson brilliance, Furor's daunting visage intimidated the spectators, riling up the jeering crowd. Its guttural cries reverberated throughout the enclosure, instilling a sense of dread.

He chose to overlook the display the stranger's Liligant put on fawning over its trainer, if only to avoid any further, needless embarrassment. There would be time enough for that, he wagered, when the battling was done.

"Let's see if you can even kick off the rust," Adrian sneered before raising a hand to direct Furor's attention towards the Liligant, taking the initiative: "Furor, Dragon Dance!"

Its elongated figure soared upward and crashed down erratically, thrashing around the arena but keeping itself mobile as its elegantly systematic movements brought it nearer and nearer still to Lilligant, all while keeping itself from becoming a stationary target.

Gyrados huh? he was surprised at that choice.."A loud and obnoxious Pokemon huh?" he said in response to his Gyrados using intimidation on Liligant? Liligant did seem a bit afraid at first, the fear written all over her face. "Seems like it matches it's trainer, loud and obnoxious." he said grinning a bit as he tried to get a rise out of his opponent. "Lily stay calm, we got this." he said before lily became reaffirmed by his words.[break][break]

He had the first move, that Gyrados was pretty fast and now because of dragon dance he was going to be moving a bit quicker, Bryan was going to take advantage of his new power boost though. "Lily! Use Quiver dance!" he shouted as Liligant began to follow his orders and began to dance as well, it looked like the two were having a dance battle instead of an actual Pokemon battle. Bryan took the opportunity to raise Liligant's power as well to keep up with the opponent. However he took it a step further. "As soon as you're done fire an energy ball!" he said not wanting to give Gyarados breathing room.

Gyarados used Bounce[break] bryan delarosa

[attr="class","hearmenand2"]"Oh? Is that why yours a bitch?" Inappropriate provocation aside, Adrian could recognize a threat when he saw one, and Lilligant's QUIVER DANCE made him more than a little uneasy. Left unchecked it could ruin him. But they were more than prepared for this paltry offensive they were demonstrating.

While Lilligant and Gyarados maneuvered, Furor managed to trim the gap between them, very nearly within striking distance. But the Lilligant was prompted by its trainer to loose an ENERGY BALL at his Gyarados, which Adrian immediately commanded in counter: "Furor, evade with Bounce!" Gyarados lunged skyward, allowing its serpentine figure to narrowly avoid the attack, priming it for an immediate reprisal.

In the moments following the evasive maneuver, the red Gyarados' figure would inevitably begin its downward descent, its massive girth collapsing into the Lilligant with its gaping maw leading the charge. Adrian couldn't help but wear a smug grin, confident in the results of their training, doubtlessly brimming with arrogance.

Whether it was warranted remained to be seen.
