Stormy continues, minding her own business and keeping her eyes peeled for movement when something breaks her concentration.[break][break]

At first, it's the sharp tug of her Wooloo against its lead. The poor babe bleats a warning, fear turning its eyes almost entirely white. Stormy hesitates, one hand brushing the top of its head to calm it.[break][break]

And then there's an incredible and intense

vacuum wave

of power that's launched in their direction. Both she and Wooloo are tossed off their feet entirely and thrown into the snow. Stormy comes up gasping, but there's no Pokemon in sight. Whoever or whatever it was had already disappeared.[break][break]

After several meticulous minutes of gloved hands brushing off snow from both herself and the thick wool of Wooloo, she stands up and stretches her back.[break][break]

"Well, that was pretty fuckin' rude if you ask me. C'mon bud, we can shake it off."[break][break]

She has to admit though, even with the snow landing she'd had, she might feel that bruise later.[break][break]

The woman does a double-take as they make their way past what looks like a young Poochyena with his tongue stuck against a low-hanging branch. His

ice fang

seemed to have gotten him into a tricky situation.[break][break]

But she moves on. He'll figure it out. And he does, as he sprints across the snow wielding a giant stick between his teeth. He looks proud.[break][break]

The same group of Growlithe reappear as they tumble and play in the snow. Their warm bodies melt snowflakes off the tips of their noses as they crash and tussle. A couple of them play a little too

roughly

, as yelps of pain and surprise take hold.[break][break]

Stormy coaxes Wooloo calm again, as the sudden change in pitch startles the poor lamb. They remain quiet for a moment while the group of puppies moves along once again. [break][break]

She smiles a bit, pondering her chances of running into them again later.[break][break]

Familiar grunts catch Stormy's attention, but by the time she turns around - nearly falling in the process due to how deep the snow was and how there was a sudden patch of ice beneath her boots - she misses whatever it was.[break][break]

And then it reappears, a particularly rotund Tepig charging through the deep snow. His thick fat seems to keep him warm, but he has no interest in her or her Wooloo.[break][break]

The woman brushes her fingers again through her companions black fur, a small smile on her face.

Just over the hill, she can hear and feel the heavy footsteps of several heavy-footed Pokemon. She comes just over the crest to peek, curious as to what might be making such a ruckus. A Bouffallant swings his head abruptly, jostling the base of a tree. It drops a heavy amount of snow on another one and a fight breaks out.[break][break]

And.. typical Stormy continues on her way. She's in no hurry to get caught in between a couple of rowdy bulls. Clearly they were ornery about more than just the snow.[break][break]

Someone shy approaches, and Stormy can only tell because of the softness of their paws. She almost doesn't hear her approach.[break][break]

And then she steps on a branch that had fallen on the fresh snow and it cracks underpaw and the Riolu hesitates, eyes wide. Stormy turns to face her and regards the young bandit calmly.[break][break]

"I hope you aren't thinking of stealing from me, baby girl."[break][break]

She feels a smirk pull at the corner of her lip and the Riolu prepares a

cross chop

, deciding to ditch the stealth and just go for it. [break][break]

However, as a pre-emptive measure, the Wooloo at Stormy's side seems to swell up in size courtesy of a

cotton guard

. With one heavy stomp, the Wooloo shakes the ground just enough to unbalance the wild Riolu. It stumbles and only bumps harmlessly off of Wooloo's puffy coat.[break][break]

Humiliated, it runs.[break][break]

Once more, perhaps like a blatant reminder, Stormy stumbles across the same pack of young and prosperous Growlithe. Familiar faces catch her attention but she pauses. There's something in them that they're lacking and she hasn't put a finger on it. They don't rival the same strength her own Arcanine does.[break][break]

She's looking for something specific.[break][break]

They pass on by once again without fail, this new one that catches her eye using his

agility

to sprint right through a pile of snow.[break][break]
