Their footsteps and hoofprints crunch in the snow. It's almost irritating, the sound. Like nails on chalkboard. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.[break][break]

Stormy tries to focus her attention elsewhere, and can hear the subtle and adorable sounds of something foraging for grubs. She stands quietly, waiting and listening to the calming break in her own discomfort. Whoever it is had found what they were looking for, and with a squeal of glee, mows down on it.[break][break]

By the time this new Riolu appears, Stormy and Wooloo have settled down someplace the sun hangs the heaviest. The sun warms their backs as they spread out their waterproof tarp and park their behinds for a nice lunch break.[break][break]

Stormy is just offering the Wooloo something simple to eat when the Riolu peers around a corner. There's a look in its eye that suggests it's up to something. Then she hears its belly growl plaintively and witnesses the young Pokemon touch its belly in response.[break][break]

"We don't bite. Just don't bite off more than you can chew - there's plenty to share."[break][break]

She tosses him a corner of her sandwich and he takes it slowly, sniffing it carefully.[break][break]

He lingers a while longer, sharing some of her food, before ultimately moving on.[break][break]

Someone familiar catches her eye - or at least she thinks they're familiar. Whether it's the same Riolu from earlier that had tried to steal her food and her Wooloo, Stormy turns to catch the culprit a second time.[break][break]

"Hey there, bud. You here for round two?"[break][break]

Wooloo puffs out its wool again in retaliation, hoping to put on a very 'I'm so squishy and innocent!' vibe. The Riolu's guard goes down almost immediately, and Stormy let's go of the Pokemon's lead just as the Wooloo rushes the Riolu with a

This time, Stormy captures the little

. Better she comes with them then pick on some other innocent traveller.[break][break]

The Riolu goes down without much more of a fight, which Stormy is thankful for. Pocketing the new addition to her team, and genuinely excited to train the Riolu into a formidable Lucario, she clicks her tongue for the Wooloo to follow her.[break][break]

Burying her hands in the Pokemon's wool is quite relaxing and comforting and warm. [break][break]

A half-frozen Treecko goes unnoticed by Stormy, unfortunately, so the poor starter is left to fend for itself a little longer. Sorry, pal.[break][break]

Once again, probably for the hundredth time, something pulls at the hair atop her head. This time it's more pain ful than the last and she cries out in surprise and pain, swatting above her head.[break][break]

Her swat is so quick, it seems, that she connects hard with the rotund little bird that had decided to use her hair as a nest. Because of this, it lands in a puddle in the snow, fighting its wings to let it back up into the sky.[break][break]

Stormy approaches slowly, peering down into the divot in the ground.[break][break]

"You're the pesky little asshole, huh? Not so tough when you're stuck in the snow."[break][break]

She releases her Zebstrika to electrocute the little sucker, before tying Wooloo to the Pokemon's saddlebag and mounting the Pokemon.[break][break]

"Alright, then. Let's keep goin."[break][break]
