Nestled at the bottom of a tree, disgused as a genuine apple amidst the cold, an Applin lies.

Stormy approaches eagerly at first, suddenly craving the sweet and sour taste of a ripe apple. However, the woman hesitates and for good reason. It seems to blink or wiggle, surprising her. Something PIERCE WILDE had said to her during the festival she'd met him comes to mind.

That, perhaps, this isn't actually an apple. It's an Applin, a Pokemon that looks exactly like the delicious treat.

So, she passes it.

At some point, their walk through the safari had slowed to a stroll. Stormy was in no rush to hurry things along, and her Pokemon seemed content to stop and sniff every second they could.

As such, it doesn't come as a surprise at all when the young Eevee disappears into another cave entrance, only to be shooed out by another group of Woobat.

"They only like to play at night. Stop pestering them, alright?"

The woman chastises softly, scooping the spooked pup into her arms while Flareon continues to wander.

Stormy's spine tingles as something familiar graces her peripheral again. There's a mreow, extended and catty, and as she turns, she finds herself face-to-face with another Meowstic.

It stares her down with aggression and the woman stares back. In her arms, the Eevee writhes and she points it to the stupid cat and it seems to take offense.

But its

fake out

falls on deaf ears because no one makes a move, and the Meowstic eventually moves on.

Good riddance.

A few more steps further leads to Stormy's toe tapping something soft and starkingly green against the white underfoot.

The woman very promptly backtracks and steps away from the tiny Budew who has since sprayed a surprise stun spore in every direction. It sprays Stormy in the face and she finds herself both wanting to sneeze and wanting to seize up.

But, even despite the slight paralysis of her facial features, Stormy manages to usher the Budew back in the direction she had found the first batch as clearly this one had gotten lost.

Stormy mutters this under her breath as her fingers stroke the plush fur of the Eevee fast asleep in her arms. Flareon's warmth brushes against the womans legs as yet another Chansey walks past. This one seems invested in forming a ball of mud between her hands for some reason.

"Remember, we're looking for more Eevee."

Just as she mentions the elusive Pokemon in question, a hush falls over her as she instinctively covers the sleeping snores of the Eevee she already carries. Flareon also hesitates, paw lifted mid-step and frozen.

"Shh.. shh, oh my God. Right over there. Quick, quick!"

Flareon overtakes the tiny Eevee with a quick attack, and manages to knock out the adorable little pup without too much hassle given her much larger size and strength.

Stormy approaches closely, safari ball in hand, to confirm her capture.

The wild Eevee is captured without a hitch, and Stormy secures the pokeball in her bag so as to not lose it. Meanwhile, she maintains a firm and affectionate hold on the one still asleep in her arms.

It only stirs when a very cold bug lands on his face. Some sort of odd fairy wind tugs at Stormy's hair and clothes, and she picks the weird bug Pokemon off of her's and sets it back down on the ground.

When she looks up, she sees that the tree isn't covered in snow, it's covered in Snom.

Gross.
