POISONED AGAIN BY GAVIN, the zapdos finds itself barraged by ice as well. although the attack of the pugilis-king misses, considerable damage is done to the bird, considering its barrier has been destroyed.[break][break]

dark, stormy clouds unite overhead. as the zapdos attempts to use RAIN DANCE, the ICICLE CRASH from kyle lopez's shotgun causes it to FLINCH.[break][break]

the zapdos uses HEAT WAVE once more, before beginning to flap its wings. it seems to want to blow everyone off the rocks again![break][break]

another HEAT WAVE comes, no more bearable than the last. the ground underneath her shakes and shakes as the heat threatens to suffocate her. she tries to focus on the slight chill radiating from her knuckledusters.

a quick glance at the status condition screen shows she hasn't sustained any secondary effects, fortunately. the same could not be said for once of her teammates--at this, she is all the more grateful. watching the bird, she carefully aims before using FREEZE-DRY.

a status condition flashes on his ui, indicating that he has been inflicted with a burn. it was annoying, but rng is still rng. nothing else could be done with it besides ignoring it for a while.

he trains his shotgun up the zapdos. he only has one move that hits for super effective damage and he aims to spam that until the boss goes down. it's not like he has any other choice anyways.

icicle crash shoots from his shotgun, hitting the zapdos with a barrage of icicles. the last one had stopped an animation for a move, and he hopes this one will too.

Right now the battle becomes a game of attrition in seeing if they can bltiz the boss before their lack of a healer overcomes their own health pool. With the poison setting in once again, Fernando resists the urge to spend some time recovering his own health with ROOST. The fact that its barrier has shattered is the only thing that pushes him to continue with the rest of the team's offense.

This time he uses MIRROR MOVE to copy Kyle's attack, purposefully favoring the secondary effect of ICICLE CRASH.

the attack is different from the previous behavior. kyle assumes it's one of the desperation moves for when it turns low health, and could aptly be described as the move that ends the run for unprepared players.

kyle has kept the move around, although he seldom has any opportunity to use it. the opportunity calls for it, and for once, he was glad to have the move in his arsenal.

he waits in the shadows with phantom force, turning corporeal for a moment and being invincible against attacks and environmental hazards. he readies an attack in the shadow, ready to strike once the blunt of the boss's attack peters out.

Frustrated with the lack of effect his attack seems to have had, Gavin's readying another attack when the winds begin to pick up speed.[break][break]

His position is precarious, footing uncertain upon treacherous ground, and instinct sees him activating his BANEFUL BUNKER instead.[break][break]

With Zapdos already poisoned, and Whirlwind being a special attack besides, it would serve little purpose but to shield Gavin from not only the winds, but the damage as well. He digs his heels in, braced against the gale.

AS THE WINDS BILLOW FORTH, lightning surges in the aerial matrix. while FERNANDO SILPH and Cillian Quinn fortify themselves, the remaining two heroes risk everything to claim victory. as the zapdos challenges their approach with electrifying gales, the rocky cliff-faces of the floating islands erode and crumble.[break][break]

however, @iris and kyle lopez are able to deal the finishing blows. the zapdos shrieks, flapping its wings with a horrific twitching before it falls as a limp heap on its main platform. the loot drops for everyone in the form of equippable zapdos wings.[break][break][break]

everyone receives:[break]
thunderous wings - immediately grants immunity to paralysis, and the access to the move, zap cannon. the ability of temporary flight is granted as well.
