[attr="class","spiral"] One improper jump is what separates faithful adventurers with an ill met death. That's why Fernando refrains from making any sudden movements. His MAGNET RISE outlines his character with an invisible crackle, allowing him to levitate to a small extent. His motor controls change significantly and the feeling of flying is beyond foreign but it gives him some wiggle room to avoid being tossed off the Avia cliff-side without protest. A double jump, if you will.

Despite being the KING Fernando is still a ranger. He has to remain in the back line and find his attacks when the opportunity arises. His number one priority is safety and the MAGNET RISE takes time to channel.

he loads his weapon as he enters the fray, the click signifying that his gun is ready to be fired.

avia has been familiar to him ever since fernando invites him for regular ganking of egg mission takers. when a zapdos appears on the game, kyle is quick to come to the scene and take the spotlight.

"hello, hello," he greets to everyone ready for the raid.

he stands far away, utilizing his range to fight the boss from safety. pointing his gun at the zapdos, he fires off an icicle crash.

The legendary thunderbird would prove a worthy foe. Though he knows it's only in a game, Gavin still finds himself in awe of Zapdos' majesty as their small party approaches its roost. The islands are treacherous to navigate, and a fierce gale threatens to blow them away.[break][break]

Gavin will not be cowed by mere weather.[break][break]

It feels alarmingly real as the gathering storm tugs at his hair and armour, the sky darkening overhead. He wonders, absently, if they can be struck by ambient lightning in the middle of a boss battle. He supposes they might find out.[break][break]

He readies his first attack, taking great care before he throws the dagger imbued with its toxic threads directly at the beast's neck. He could only hope that the wind would not alter the trajectory...

AS THE BOSS FIGHT COMMENCES, the zapdos emits an ear-splitting screech. hairs rise as the air is charged with electricity. behind the zapdos, a wretched bolt of lightning impales into the clouds of avia.[break][break]

several attacks land, the health bar above the boss showing; however, upon impact, only two of the "barriers" shatter while the poison seeps behind them.[break][break]

the zapdos spreads its wings, cawing as a DISCHARGE surges forth toward everyone. afterward, the zapdos begins whipping a flurry of winds, its wings flapping harsher and harsher... as if wanting to blow off any paralyzed adventurers.[break][break]

[attr="class","spiral"]Fernando's restraint in attacking allows him to observe the scene as the battle unfolds. There's a distinction in the way that the barriers shatter when their attacks land. He's not sure what happens when they all go down but the answer seems obvious enough.

The DISCHARGE seems to have little effect on him due to his own typing and for that Fernando is thankful. It grants him enough time to line up his weapon for a clean shot of CHATTER. The bullet travels toward the Zapdos and will implode when it enter striking distance, unleashing a blast of sound waves that look to CONFUSE the enemy.

+5 due to CROWN.

STATUS ROLL:

If STATUS roll lands between 0 - 100 CHATTER will CONFUSE.

the discharge is negligible. the only other thing he has to worry about are flying-type attacks. while he doesn't really know what other moves a zapdos can use, resisting two of its typing's attacks proves useful for the fight.

kyle doesn't stop even with the move hitting. his gun continues to aim at the zapdos. he still has enough shells loaded before he needs to stop and reload for another round of attacks. offensive momentum was in their favor right now.

with the legendary pokemon now riddled with status effects, kyle aims to stack more of them to prevent further damage. the success chance of a flinch was low, but even then, icicle crash was his best move regardless.

Though the identities of those he fought alongside had not escaped his notice, Gavin's goal is singular: fell the Zapdos.[break][break]

His determination is rewarded as he sees the 'PSN' status condition appear above its health bar, though their volley of attacks seems to do less than the rogue would have liked. Its barriers are chipped away, but not completely broken.[break][break]

A discharge of electricity hits the rogue and lances painfully through his limbs, but he holds fast to his position.[break][break]

They had tried and failed to pin it down; Gavin elects to try for the same. Extra damage from his Venoshock wouldn't help much if they found themselves obliterated by the bird's attacks.[break][break]

THE SURGE OF ELECTRICITY, travels across the rock platforms. @iris's typing allows her to absorb the shock, while the rangers are able to withstand the electrical surge with ease. however, Cillian Quinn suffers a little more damage than the others- but is able to stave off the shackles of paralysis. the poison slowly ticks away at its health.[break][break]

three out of four attacks land. a CHATTER confuses the zapdos, causing an animation of small yellow torchic to cycle around its head. kyle lopez's round seems to miss its mark- but a split decision allows the rounds to curve into the barrier of the zapdos. a dark blade shatters the final barrier.[break][break]

with the barrier shattered, the zapdos shrieks once more and spreads its wings. its charged up attack is canceled. above the zapdos, the following text appears:[break][break]

ZAPDOS NULLIFIED ALL STATUS CONDITIONS!

from its wings, a intense surge of heat flows forth. in this frenzied state, the lightning bird summons several floating rock islands and hurls them at the king of pugilis.[break][break]

[attr="class","spiral"] They're spared no quarter. The DISCHARGE has been little more than a tickle but the ANCIENT POWER and HEAT WAVE find no innate resistance. Both land and Fernando can see his health drop in accordance to each blow. He'll have to top himself off soon and without a healer in their group handling both tanking and sustain proves impossible. It looks like it's a race against time and Fernando contributes what he can.

His MIRROR MOVE copies the ANCIENT POWER and dislodges some of it to turn against its initial user. Although Electric types show no weakness to Rock, the same cannot be said about Flying.

with the shields shattered, all that is left is to beat down the boss.

his arsenal for a pokemon with a typing such as zapdos was limited to one move, a skill that he got from equipping his current weapon. he loads shells before aiming the barrel of the shotgun to the behemoth in the skies.

kyle's attack flies through the air, hitting an icicle crash at the zapdos. ice forms just before the point of impact, where multiple shards of ice attempt to pierce through the legendary pokemon's armor. it's all data and codes though, so it won't really pierce through it, he supposed.

A wave of heat washes over them, and Gavin instinctively throws up an arm to shield his face from the burning heat. The pain is great, but he's relieved that the volley of rock is not directed at him.[break][break]

With its barriers down, the thunderbird cleanses itself of its conditions and Gavin's focus once again switches to the application of status effects. The brawler's freeze-dry doesn't seem to do the trick, so the rogue tilts his dagger and fires another toxic thread at the Zapdos.
