It was a painstaking effort to cross the length of the river that traces back to the hills of Fortree City. The path is wet and muddy and there are no other options to reach it from Mauville other than a corviknight taxi, which is too expensive for her taste. And so the two decided to brave the long journey, after all, it is a good opportunity to train and catch more pokémons.

The tangela is a force to be reckoned with.

Despite its miniature size, the creature proved to be capable of handling bigger adversaries. Selena grits. And Medusa accepts its challenge.

Starting strong with a blast of ICE BEAM, the milotic easily freezes its enemy, but it did not back down as it attempts a POWER WHIP at Selena’s serpentine moments before it becomes ice solid.

Selena finishes it off with another ICE BEAM, hurling the tangela downstream. Its frostbite will mend and the ice will thaw, but the vine creature may never see both of them again.

MEDUSA (MILOTIC) uses ICE BEAM.

Sooner after, the duo are entraced by a PSYBEAM from a distant source—a butterfree hovering atop the canopies lining the entrances to Fortree.

And with such luck, the psychc attack manages to confuse its target—her owner naïve to her current predicament. “Ha! You won’t get away, butterfly. Medusa, use ICE BEAM!”

The milotic takes her time adjusting to her wobble surroundings, her line of sight fixates the target of her attack. It sees something white. So the serpentine breathes in, then breathes out a gush of air, its tendriling and swirling columns of ice crawling towards the target. It leaps out from its direction, sliding to the right as Medusa wakes up from the trance of confusion.

“Medusa, no! I got you. We can do this!” Selena guides back her pokémon towards her targrt. This time, the status is wearing off, but there is still hints of hesitation. “Get ready another ICE BEAM.”

The milotic repeats the process—breathe in, the air fills her tiny lungs with moisture which temperature her body converts; at the same time, Selena gaging Medusa’s body language, before dictating her to release the attack—breathes out, as it hits the butterfree completely with one swift blow!

Selena comes across a group of travelers, donning robes and gowns from familiar places. They are Kalosian and Galarian inspired. One of them, a girl who is about five, holds tightly into her chespin plushie. It is a smart move, perhaps, as a threat from the distant part of the woods becomes apparent. A trevenant appears!

The lass starts crying as the grass-type approaches them with a SHADOW CLAW. Medusa is quick to block it off and use another ICE BEAM to throw of its opponent. The ice freezes the enemy as it connects to its trunk, giving the lady a chance to throw a pokéball at its solidifies body. Red glow begins to surround it, like a veil, and in an instant it enters the white sphere.

Selena approaches the girl and pats her head. She washes off the tears from her eyes and says, “Don’t cry now. The tree pokémon will not bother you anymore.”

MEDUSA (MILOTIC) uses PSYCHIC.
SELENA throws a PREMIER BALL (CATCH).
