Chubs seemed oblivious—too fixated by the cheers of the crowd, the small ice-type could swallow his stage fright as the contest came to its last round. Or, maybe, it was the occasional clap and whistle from persephone amavi 's walreign that soothed his anticipation.[break][break]

He sought them in the crowd, catching sight of Perse's ivory locks, and spared a last wave. It was getting close to his turn. After @iris finished, he would be next. It would be his last chance to clench victory.[break][break]

Not that he understood—the ice-pokemon was unaware of his score. He was just happy to be up on the stage, giving it his all. Seeing the happy faces of the crowd was all that he wanted.[break][break]

Bailey was hiding offstage, covering her eyes, because she felt like her gaze would be a curse upon his luck.[break][break]

The spotlight graced him, refracting light off the smooth white edges of his bowtie.[break][break]

The finale—he sucked in a deep breath, as if anticipating that this would be physically exhausting. All moves. All for one performance.[break][break]

He started with a move that would not signify a start, but a harkon back to the previous round: encore. The bouquet of flowers was back in his small flippers, and gently, ever so gently, he would breath the same ice that had encased him. Except, he would not be the target, as ice would ever so gently form across the arrangement of flowers like morning dew.[break][break]

Ice so gentle, ice so thin, a mere press of the finger would have shattered it—something that any hardy flower would be able to withstand.[break][break]

He would bounce, once, then twice. Like a ball being dribbled, each bounce would lift him up higher; then, body slam to gain full height as the small spheal would almost launch himself into the air.[break][break]

The same crystallized flowers would be thrown from his grasp and to the crowd—the bouquet unraveling to release them. Ice-encased flowers, weighed by the water, would be able to fall, not float, into the hands of those in the front row.[break][break]

But that was not all—the disbursement of flowers was only a small distraction as the spheal transitioned. He breathed, just as Bailey had instructed him to do, and breathed the cold-like breath of aurora beam.[break][break]

Yet, these bending and flowing light curtains were contained, because he alternated his focus between his breath attack and the execution of ice ball; like the very capsule he came from, the spheal, and his rainbow lights, were consumed by the thin shell.[break][break]

His first performance hadn't drawn enough of a cheer from the crowd, so maybe this little twist could make it more beautiful.[break][break]

This time, when Chubs slammed down into the stage, the ice would break and what overflowed from its fracture would be a cascade of color that would root itself through the air with its twisting, bending shape. Branching out from the ice-shape seed, maybe the northern lights could have been perceived to be a sapling emerging from a core—[break][break]

But Chubs was not privy to such observations, because as the cold mist and colors cleared, the small ice-type was curled in the display of fractured ice he had made; at rest.[break][break]

He gave a snore, as if too exhausted from the repeated sequence of moves; or, maybe, it was time for some much needed beauty sleep.[break][break]

First, Drayco began with another Aqua Tail. A flick of his tail summoned up a cyclone of spinning water. He let it release and then used Thunder Wave, slightly electrifying the twister of water. Nova moved onto Drayco, placing her hands onto the beast's shoulders. He took off into the air.

Two warriors defying the odds of a ruthless storm. Drayco swooped and soared all with Nova on his back. Red hair and bangs blew aggressively against the winds. Despite the feeling of danger, Nova trusted Drayco. They'd wow the crowd together!

Energy coated the beast's wings in a Wing Attack. Drayco battered the cyclone, energies of his appendages and the sparkling water colliding with a cool flash.

"It's time to finish this! Drayco, Dragon Pulse!"

He did as told. Parting its jaws, Dragonite released a purple ray of bright plasma. The beam drove straight through the water-storm, spreading particles of its essence around the stage. Without a tail to man it, the cyclone lost its swirl and began to lose shape. Nova held on tight as Drayco drove through it, fist first with a Thunder Punch, almost like some sort of superhero.

Nova and Drayco were both dripping wet, but they'd come out victorious against the storm. The swirling water subsided and only left lame puddles on the ground. Nova grinned ever so brightly, just so happy to have done this all with her closest friend. Drayco landed and Nova set her feet onto the ground, thrusting a triumphant fist in the air. Behind her, fiery aura coated Drayco's bodice. With an Outrage, he let out a beam of energy straight up into the air like a victorious beast.

"This, is a true knight's way!"

THE FINAL ROUND CONCLUDES. As the judges tally the points, the audience murmurs with anticipation. Regardless of the results, the contestants and their Pokemon have gained fans today.[break][break]

The coordinators are asked to line up on the stage. First, second, and third place ribbons, elaborate in their garnishings, await their new owners.[break][break]

"IN THIRD PLACE, WE HAVE @iris'S MUNNA!" Cooper announces into the microphone. Feedback rings out from the sheer intensity of his voice. "IN SECOND PLACE, WE HAVE A TIE BETWEEN @nova'S DRAGONITE, DRAYCO, AND Valerio Dachev'S KINGDRA, MAIA!"[break][break]

The blue tails of the ribbons flow proudly as they are bestowed upon their respective winners. Swiftly, cheers and whistle rise from the seats. Some give standing ovations as enamored new fans.[break][break]

"LAST BUT NOT LEAST, WE HAVE THE WINNER." Cooper shouts into the mic, voice almost cracking as he declares, "Bailey Cooper's SPHEAL, CHUBS!"[break][break]

Confetti falls from the rafters as the first place ribbon is placed upon the Spheal. The speakers roar with celebratory music, drowning out the ruckus below...[break][break]

"Pfft, they don't know a good show, do they? You're a beauty, aren't ya, One?" Rex drawled lazily, him and his partner lounging in the shadows where neither the winners or audience were looking. One chattered back in what Rex assumed was sone kind of agreement, getting a smile from its trainer. The smile froze on his face as the ribbons were distributed, a quality he was happy he possessed, made him look happy and shit while he and One got nothing out of this farce. Guess everyone likes a damn cute seal over its betters. Some beauty contest. [break][break]

He found himself giving a wave towards @nova though, perhaps the only person up there he actually thought deserved it, it was a dragon after all. She tried with that awesome thing, didn't get lucky with a cute or pretty Pokemon and won, like he should have...not that he tried, did he? [break][break]

Under all those eyes, how great would it be, to be fawned over like that?
