Stormy finds it easier to find dark-type Pokemon in the dark, and so she travels route 120 just as the sun sinks below the horizon. The temperature drops significantly compared to the dry heat she's used to. She absently curls her fingers around the jacket she wears, tugging it tighter despite not really feeling the cold. Perhaps she's a bit nervous.[break][break]

Her fingers reach for a Pokeball, tugging free the capsule containing her Arcanine. As soon as the beast appears she feels more at ease. Her fingers sink into the dense golden fur of the canine Pokemon, comforted immensely by the warmth of his fur. He pants happily, glancing this way and that, ears on high alert.

Out of the brush jumps a Lillipup and it brings forth a squeal of surprise from Stormy. She steps back and Arcanine huffs in amusement - he had probably smelled the pup long before it had ever had the courage to leap out.[break][break]

However, due to the scream that Stormy emitted and the surprise the Lillipup had as a result, the puppy Pokemon doesn't stick around. He runs off into the dark, leaving the two to wallow in their embarrassment and amusement.[break][break]

"What? I never said I was a fan of the dark."

More rustling causes Stormy to slow her pace and glance over her shoulder uneasily. She can feel goosebumps spread across her skin and along the back of her neck in anticipation. She almost laughs aloud when she sees an Alolan Meowth creep out with poise from the same bush the Lillipup had appeared from. She quickly realizes that it hadn't been her or Arcanine that had startled the Lillipup, but the cat.[break][break]

The Meowth licks its paw in a dramatic fashion, eyes lazily staring across to stare her down. She's taunting her, and the sad part is, it's working.[break][break]

Stormy rolls up her sleeves at the disappointed stare she receives but it's Arcanine who steps in to break it up. He assumes the role of defender, or attacker, since the Meowth had no intention of attacking, just resting-bitch-facing. With a loud bark, the giant dog leaps forward, only to be quickly tackled to the ground in a perfectly executed PLAY ROUGH. It appears there was a reason the Lillipup was so scared.[break][break]

Fortunately, Arcanine's immense size and thick, shaggy fur is enough to overwhelm the Meowth. Her sharpened claws get caught in the middle of her FURY SWIPES because Stormy hadn't had a chance to brush out his fur. The knots catch the cat off-guard and she struggles to detach herself. Arcanine rolls onto his side and crushes the Meowth before getting back to his feet. gg ez.[break][break]

Stormy captures the wild Meowth before giving her puppy a scratch under the chin.[break][break]
