Molech took the time to beef up its defense as well when Captain Rose pulsated in verdant glow. The noctowl flapped its wings before an kaleidoscope of colors surrounded the avian, REFLECT taking hold and shielding him from possible attacks. As the roserade deflected poison stings towards his target, Selena’s pokémon prepared a counter as well.

“HYPNOSIS, now!” Stings cut through the bird’s flesh and he felt an excruciating pain as it slippes through its feathers. Selena’s worried looks inquired on her mon’s condition, but the creature reassured her he would not give up without a fight. As soon as it reached a considerable amount of distance, the noctowl screeched his lullaby, attempting to put the roserade to sleep. “Will you get the Mystery Badge or not? I guess we’ll find out soon!”

NOCTOWL uses REFLECT. PHYS. ATKs are halved.
NOCTOWL is hit by POISON STING. It deals low damage. Noctowl is poisoned.
NOCTOWL uses HYPNOSIS.

seeing the barrier go up was disheartening but not worrisome due to the face that the poison sting managed to hit its mark and pelt the owl with its acid. the feeling of relief didn't last very long however as a the noctowl was quick to use its own song to put captain rose to sleep, kazimir was going to have none of that. "captain! cover your ears and try ta counter it!"

the roserade didn't really need telling as it raised its hands to its head to try and block out the sound as it stood tall and firm. as the song ended there was a second where the roserade was as still as as a statue and kaz began to wonder if his pokemon was ok. "hey cap-?" his worry was once again alleviated as the roserade suddenly let out a battle cry and aimed his bulbs at the flying owl and waves of psychic energy began to flow forward and up towards the noctowl.

Molech glowered when the hypnosis did not take effect upon hitting the roserade. The angered noctowl braved the pain of the poison and the extrasensory as it dealt few more attacks against his opponent. “Drown them with attack, Molech!”

Flying above Captain Rose, Molech casted MOONBLAST towards him, his TINTED LENS dealing normal damage against the grass and poison-type. He then swoop downwards to follow-up with AIR SLASH. “Will you get the Mystery Badge or not? I guess we’ll find out soon!”

NOCTOWL is poisoned. It deals low damage.
NOCTOWL is hit by EXTRASENSORY. It deals normal damage.
NOCTOWL uses MOONBLAST. TINTED LENS doubles damage of non-effective moves.
NOCTOWL uses AIR SLASH.

the psychic attack hit its mark but in retaliation the captain was met with a barrage of attacks that would probably taken out weaker pokemon than him. first a moonblast that to the roserade felt like it packed a much more stronger punch than he would have imagined followed by an air slash that felt like it would cut him down right at the roots if it was any stronger. knocked onto his back the grass superhero did his best to get back onto his feet, triggering another growth in order to show that he could hit back just as hard.

"captain rose let's try and catch a second wind by taking the wind outta their sails yeah!" the roserade knew what he meant and couldn't agree more as his bulbs began to grow and beams of light erupted from them and came right for the noctowl. a giga drain that was buffed up was sure to regain some if not more of his lost energy and put him back in this fight on equal ground.[break][break]

The noctowl was satisfied seeing his attacks connected but not until the roserade decided to beef up its offense once more, to which the avian agitatedly tried another HYPNOSIS at its opponent.

Once Captain Rose was ready, he blasted Molech with his powered up giga drain which the bird would dodge easily if not for the pain of being poisoned. “Molech won’t let your Captain Rose siphon more energy from him.” Selena reassured Kazimir, but in reality she knew by intuition that all cards are piled up against her: noctowl might be losing again, just like how it did during her and Katherine Fairburne’s match. Kazimir is a strong opponent and it made the noctowl very eager to win.

NOCTOWL is poisoned. It deals low damage.

NOCTOWL dodges GIGA DRAIN.

the roserade was taken aback as its drain on the noctowl was completely avoided his giga drain meaning the roserade wasn't going to get back any energy anytime soon. sad because thats what it needed at this moment as it was hit by a hypnosis and the world around it started to get more dark before it fell forward in a state of sleep. kaz was at a loss for words but he knew that he was probably going to need to come back with an
even better team, probably some ice types to serve up some ice cold revenge and make sure her birds couldn't fly far. for now he rushed over to his roserade's side and shook him to try and wake up with no response. "man...you got us good...looks like he's all tuckered out."

returning the roserade to its pokeball so it can get even more comfy kazimir walked up to selena and held out his hand and gave a smile. "talk about a close one. guess i need to work on listening to my intuition better so thanks for the lesson."[break][break]

Panting, Molech almost believed that it would not win. All of his hardwork and training has been paid off as he copied Captain Rose, knocked out on the ground from both pain and exhaustion. Selena also retrieved his capsule and returned the noctowl with a flash of red light.

Kazimir approached the gym leader and appeared sport and confident. “You certainly give us a hard time too,” she responded. “I have no doubt you’ll win against us the next time.”

She finally took his hand and shook it. “What are you gonna do now?”
