Maverick felt a twinge of tension built in him as the woman wink at him before smashing the car. He wasn’t really sure what to make of it but his attention was swiftly turned to the task at hand when the announcer yelled go. With all his might, the man slammed the bat into the back window. His first hit only made a dent in the glass without breaking through. Orbs flickered to see if the woman saw how little of a dent he made. How embarrassing. He huffed. Swinging the bat above his head and bringing down all his weight onto the glass, the glass shattered into the car sending small particles of glass on the upholstery. Much better. Pride filled him at that moment. It felt good to destroy something.[break][break]

But before he could do another swing, the massive ground type creature bulldoze the car. It even made Maverick take a step back in an attempt to not get swished along with the car. “Shit,” he mumbled under his breath as he stumbled back for a moment. The crowd around them screamed and cheered at the car was already close to destroyed. He couldn’t help but feel as though he wasn’t contributing. Stormy and her pokemon pretty much destroyed the car not their own.[break][break]

His warm gaze flickered to Azula who moved to the front of the car after the other pokemon plowed the car. Her lips peeled back, muzzle opened wide. Teeth suddenly engulfed in flames as she launched forward to bite down on the grill of the car, her FIRE FANG melting any plastic pieces they came in contact with them while any metal got red hot from the flames. A thought crossed his mind at that moment. They did drain the car of any flammable fluid, right? [break][break]

After being sure to stay clear of the donphan, Maverick moved to another part of the vehicle and swung his bat once more into anything that didn’t look destroyed enough. The clock was ticking down rather quickly and they needed to get the car as fucked up as they can. Of course, Maverick would occasionally see whether or not the gym leader was watching him in hopes he didn’t make himself look bad in front of the woman.

If it wasn’t for Stormy and her Donphan, Maverick would have never destroy the car in time as it ticked down quicker by the second. Or, so it felt.. Even has Azula’s fiery fangs clamped down in the car barely missing Stormy, Maverick really needed a bigger and more destructible pokemon. Another thud of bat on car sounded off, Maverick drawling back for a moment to see what damage he has done. Disappointment crossed his expression, seeing what little damage he was actually making. Using his sleeve the wipe off the sweat that started to form along his forehead, the man gripped the bat once more. Taking in a deep breath, the man moved to another part of the vehicle that looked like it needed some brute strength.[break][break]

The earth shook with the pokemon earthquake, forcing Maverick to try to regain his balance though it did not distract his focus. Lifting the bat above his head once more, his brought down all his force on a doorframe. The bat smashed a small dent in it though it bat rung from the contact. Not satisfied with his work, Maverick pounded the bat again and again until he was happy with the results. His gaze shifted to Stormy to see where she was and how much damage she was doing before his gaze shifted to the clock. “We don’t have much time left,” he hollered over the roar of the crowd who cheered them on, “come on Azula. Rip this thing a new one.” At the sound of her trainer distressed, Azula snarled. A dark aura surrounded her body only for a brief moment as she started to BEAT UP the car with slamming her body into another part.

When Maverick first heard of this odd mission or job, he didn’t think he would enjoy it as much as he was right now. Even as a bead of sweat rolled down the side of his face from swining the bat as hard as he could at the car, there was something about smashing this car that felt oddly satisfying. He watched as his houndoom rammed her body into the car, leaving a decent dent. He took a moment to catch his breath, warm orbs turned to see the gym leader motion for him to follow her lead. The trainer blinked and brows rose. Did she just say she wanted to flip the car? … Alright![break][break]

Crouching down next to the ground type and his beloved houndoon, the man found something to hold onto and began the attempt to flip the car. Azula shoved her massive body underneath the frame, using her rapidash skull to protect her skin against the metal of the car as she put her weight into it. Maverick huffed, arm muscles flex with the weight they were trying to move. He strained for a while, doing his best in the attempt to flip it. And surprising, the car started to budge. Of course with the help of Stormy’s Donphan, flipping the car happened rather quicker than Maverick expected as the creature was much stronger than all of them combined.[break][break]

Once the car was flipped, Maverick took a moment to gather his breath once more. Azula, however, was already targeting another part of the car that needed some damage. Her body took on a low glow as she started to beat up the car before clamping down on a tire with a crunch. Picking up the bat once more and being sure to stay clear of the donphan, Maverick started to beat the car once more. A rare occasion was seen. A grin on his face.

Stormy enthusiasm over flipping the car caught him off guard. Even as she came up to him and gave him an offer the head double high five, Maverick was almost inspired by her excitement for what they have accomplished over the corse of just a few minutes. Of course, none of this probably would have been possible if it wasn’t for Stormy. In the corner of his eye, he noticed the gym leader had stopped beating the car. Although at this point, the car was well destroy to no questionable doubt. And taking a step back, he could see why she was grinning ear from ear. The car was gone. Mangled and beat up metal. His gaze shifted to Azula who pulled on the rubber of the tire, finding the tire rather enjoyable to chew on. The houndoom pulled, paws pressed into the ground as her tried to rip the tire off the car completely. And with just a few more tugs and a few snarls of anger that she was struggling to get it off, the canine stubbled back before her long arrow tipped tail twitched with satisfaction.[break][break]

Maverick chuckled, turning to Stormy as the buzzer rang and their time was done. Whipping the sweat from his face with the bottom of his shirt, he nodded to her. “Well… That’s was that. I think we destroyed it pretty good.” Warm orbs flickered to see Azula sitting on the side, still chewing on the tire she managed to get off. And when a clean up crew tried to take if from her, lips peeled back and a nasty snarl ripped through her throat. “I won’t if I were you.” Mav warned the guy as he backed away, moving on to something else to pick up. “She does bite.” As the man moved on, the canine returned to nibbling on the tire.[break][break]

His attention back to Stormy, he offered his hand in a finally goodbye hand shake. “It was nice destroying a car with you. We should do it again sometime.” Maverick chuckled lightly, a grin on his face. With that, the man nodded to her and strolled up to Azula. “Let’s go.” Azula stood, tire in her mouth. Rolling his eyes, the man made his way through the crowd to head to his next mission. He wondered when he would see her again other than whenever he decides to challenge the gym. Would she remember him? After all, it’s not like he left an impression for anything. Either way, he left with a smile on his face.
