Reaper continues to levitate in the air, breathless. He only offers the Lapras ahead a vacant stare before he's returned to his Pokeball. Out of all of Katherine's ghost-types, he certainly was the spookiest of them. So calm, so... Silent. It was eerie. Eerier than she was used to, at least.

Moving onto the next floor, she shivered slightly at the cold air that SHEER COLD spread throughout the tower.

"This shouldn't be too difficult, but it's definitely getting more... Specific." It's an idle comment, but one that's meant to serve her teammates just as well. Their tasks would surely only grow more difficult from here on out.

A Serperior emerges from the Pokeball brought with the Rocketess this time, a regal green snake that holds a disinterested gaze. It observes the mega-evolved alakazam with a complete lack of care - as if it would rather be anywhere but here.

"You guys focus on stealing. We'll make sure the Alakazam won't stop it."

The grass-type turned to face his trainer only momentarily, awaiting her command, "Gastro acid. Aim well, Solaris. We wouldn't want to hit someone else with it." It does as instructed, releasing a steady stream of purple acid that collides with the Alakazam and their spoons.

Yet again, their violet-haired companion is quick to determine a solution. Impressed, Orion nods at the instruction and makes his way to the rotomi; no Pokemon among his usual suspects had a penchant for theft.[break][break]

Thievul, however, as its name would suggest, was a natural THIEF.[break][break]

With the Alakazam spattered with acid, the canine slinks along the edge of the room. Its eyes shine with excitement, for Orion has never allowed it to take something before. This is normally something punished, and the aptly-named Bandit does not need to be asked twice.[break][break]

Once it's in position, it sizes up its target before wiggling its rump and leaping forward, snatching a spoon in its jaws. Landing gracefully with perked ears, Bandit wags his tail gleefully.[break][break]

"Good job," Orion chuckles.

Remiel had to agree with Katherine. He was very selective about the pokémon he kept on reserve, and that relatively small pool made the realization all too noticeable. They would each, likely, reach a challenge they were not prepared for. And, having no other choice, they would have to depend on each other. The challenge awaiting them on the next floor was a clear and frank example of that.

A little worried about the Alakazam's powerful grip on the spoons, the Galarian is pleased to find that Katherine has brought along just the right solution for it. Even Wally, the Eevee he has summoned, cheers at the sight of the Serperior unleashing its Gastric Acid upon their target. Then cheers again when the larger Thievul succeeds in its theft.

"Now it's your turn," Remiel spoke, drawing Wally's attention before it determinedly nodded. "Go fetch us that spoon." And, eager to imitate the Thievul, Wally did just so.

He casually sauntered up to the floating Alakazam, then shone him his best puppy dog eyes before uttering a cute mewl. With no leg in reach to rub softly against, the Eevee then proceeded under its target with a purr. Then, in an instant, pivoted back around before leaping into the air and snatching a spoon for itself. Excitedly, it hurried back to Remiel to hand it over and receive a good pat on the head for its well executed Covet.

"Well done."

Another success, another floor climbed. And yet, this one posed an obvious challenge. That Alakazam's psychic grip had to be quite immense to make this a challenge this far up the tower. These challenges were getting quite specific. At what point would she no longer be able to contribute? She had a large amount of pokemon, but the realization that she only had one pokemon who was capable of theft in any useful manner alarmed her.

As the woman in their group claimed to handle the Alakazam from stopping their theft, Ruby nodded her head. Best to simply trust in their abilities as a trainer, and their Pokemon to handle their assigned role.

She was quick to send out Sakura, an Espeon who looked quite pleased and calm. A rather graceful strut as she circled around Ruby's legs for a moment, clearly eager for some attention. With a quiet chuckle, she leaned down to pet Sakura for a moment as she watched the Thievul and the Eevee each take a single spoon, thanks to the Serperiors use of Gastro Acid. So far, so good.

"Time to get to work, get the spoon." Sakura yawned softly, only to continue their cute strut over towards the Alakazam. With wide, rather adorable eyes, they suddenly hopped up onto the Alakazam's lap of all places, acting like they were about to curl up for a nap before suddenly pouncing straight at the spoon with the move Covet, grabbing it with her mouth. Her split tail tickled against the Alakazam as it made the confident walk right back, seemingly eager to enjoy the praise for the successful mission.

Notes:Sakura used Covet to steal the final spoon after Gastro Acid nullified the Alakazam's Sticky Hold.

Battle Armor is an ability Orion is intimately familiar with thanks to his Type: Null. Yet even if they were able to bypass the ability or otherwise nullify it, landing a hard enough hit could prove difficult.[break][break]

He has not had the time to develop a bond with the Throh that is sent onto the field. The Judo Pokemon assumes a combative stance as it sizes up the student's Kabutops, the red Pokemon's fingers flexing as if it were considering where best to grab hold of the fossilized beast. No doubt it had intentions to lift and chuck its armored foe, but Orion has a specific instruction.[break][break]

Scrolling through his phone to find the notes he kept on his new or underused Pokemon, Orion finds the name of the move he seeks.[break][break]

"STORM THROW."[break][break]

With its ability, MOLD BREAKER, the Throh steps forward and carefully assesses its foe before aiming a critical strike at a perceived weak point.

For a fleeting moment, Katherine considers that this might be the end for their group.

But only one moment. In the next, Kat already envisions a way to work around this particular challenge. Overcoming BATTLE ARMOR meant that MOLD BREAKER had to be put into use alongside very specific moves. It's the type of challenge she expected from this tower, the type that it's been rumored to offer.

"Ah... I hope you don't mind cheap tactics."

Her comment is directed at Orion specifically. The Pokeball she chooses belonged to a very peculiar Pokemon - one she rarely had the chance to use. Ditto. It's sent out and in the same instant, IMPOSTER activates to allow the purple pokemon to transform into the fighting-type that was sent by the Councilman.

"Follow his lead. Use STORM THROW."

Maybe this was on the verge of cheating-- but Katherine remained true to her roots. Like a true Rocket-member, testing the limits and rules was a second nature for her.

Pinsir (Mold Breaker): Bind | Thrash | X-Scissor | Storm Throw

The Saint of Slateport.

She looked a lot younger in person than the newspapers in Hoenn made her out to be. Perhaps their comparison in height made it seem so. Or maybe the lack of dust on her face. Regardless, Remiel exchanged glances with her after he'd retrieved his Pinsir from the rotomi and turned around. She'd been in waiting in line behind him.

He paused and didn't say anything as his nonchalant blue-grey eyes looked back at her. But, as he calmly passed by with the luxury ball in hand, he finally uttered a few words. "Let me know if you need help, Miss Walker."

Finding his place on the tower floor amongst his peers, the prince of Hammerlocke let his luxury ball fly when the time to take on the challenge finally arrived. From the following burst of golden light, a mighty Pinsir emerged. After the Throh and the imposter Throh had done their work on the opposing Kabutops, Remiel's stag beetle followed up with its own version of the move.

"Asphodel, Storm Throw."

It charged forward with heavy stomps before capturing the Kabutops in a powerful vice with its thorny horns. Its Mold Breaker ability allowed it to strike with perfect accuracy, finding two accessible weak points within the Kabutops' Battle Armor and gripping tightly until its thorns forced their way inside of them. When the Kabutops finally struggled and uttered a sharp cry of pain, Remiel uttered a short whistle that prompted his Pinsir to slam it down and release it. It backed away as it saw Ruby's pokémon approach.

The Kabutops certainly looked incredibly tough. Ruby's eyes narrowed a little bit as she examined the situation. That incredibly tough shell was going to be nigh-possible to crack, let alone ensure that there was a critical hit without fail. She hummed softly in thought, debating on what Pokemon to grab when she was suddenly spoken too.

It was the other Galarian man among their group, his accent was completely unmistakable. His calm expression paired with his luxury ball, he seemed to give off an air of refinement. With his offer of help, he even stated her name. Of course, with a Miss tacked on, something Ruby was certainly not used to. That was what people called her mom! Perhaps he recognized her from the news, but whatever the case was, Ruby instinctively gave him a soft smile. "Don't you worry, I can handle this. I've been through tougher situations than this, but thanks for the offer!"

With a quiet chuckle to herself, she grabbed a Pokeball and sent her Pokemon out as everyone else did. Curiously, that very same man also sent out a Pinsir. Her own, named Brutus, was a new addition, and quite brutal, hence the name.
