Route 112 has its charms and she revels in it, quite literally. For the better part of the afternoon she lays, arms spread, in the tall grass. The sun is blocked by clouds and, whenever it reappears, her arm covers her eyes until it passes.[break][break]

She spends a long time doing this - just laying in the middle of the route enjoying the day. In fact, she might even be napping.

[attr="class","lancepost"]route 112 is lovely and lance finds himself back there again just a day after his hike up the mountain. maybe it's the soot in the air but he can't seem to get enough of the route. or maybe it's the throh and pancham he knows are waiting for him.

someone's napping in the middle of the route and he has to stop and just stare at the audacity of it. how rude.

There's a very sudden lack of sunlight shining down on her face, and when she lifts her arm from her eyes to appear confused, that confusion quickly turns to something. Is it surprise? Is she startled? Angry? Annoyed?[break][break]
She isn't even sure, but she works to keep her composure and lay back down. Her arm is replaced over her eyelids and she twitches her nose.[break][break]

"You're blocking the sun, my friend."[break][break]

In the distance, a group of Primeape beat up on each other. She pays them no mind.

[attr="class","lancepost"]no response meets her words but he does take a step to the side to allow the sun to shine down on her. it's only then that he recognizes her: one of hoenn's elite four. how prestigious.

"mind if i join you?" he asks but he's already lowering himself to the grass. he keeps a respectable distance from her, mindful of her space. he falls back and stares up at the sky.

a hawlucha glides over him and he swears it's the third one he's seen this week. must be cursed or something.

The moment the sun is back on her skin, she smiles. She only slightly moves her arm to peek when she feels movement to her side and a soft thud as the stranger lays down next to her.[break][break]

And then she inhales deeply, followed not long after by a long exhale through her nose. Her arm returns to cover her face as she speaks.[break][break]

Stormy laughs, shifting her arm laid out to the side. She doesn't see the boop coming, but the moment he taps her cheek she pauses.[break][break]

And then she removes her arm from her eyes and raises an eyebrow.[break][break]

But she's clearly amused given the lingering smile on her face and the fact she laughs again right after.

something steps into the vicinity and his trap card activates. rotta springs out from hiding and ambushes the throh that was probably just out for a nice walk in its lovely judogi. rotta, still roughed up from previous battles, slams his entire body in an ENDEAVOR. with the throh now disoriented and close to fainting, lance lobs a single pokeball at it and ends his turn.

the little rattata sprints back to his trainer's side and drops the single pokeball before running away again. he's always been so energetic and eager. it doesn't take long for his next friend to show up.

he just had to do it to the hakamo-o. ENDEAVOR levels their health and a single pokeball hits the dragon-type before it has a chance to react.

lance smirks the same and takes her hand in his, holding it long enough. "lance."

The battling in the background is ignored because she has something more interesting to pay attention to. That, and she hadn't come all that invested in battling - she was just out to relax in the grass and enjoy the few minutes of peace she could spare.[break][break]

Something pink behind the man catches her eye, however, and she gets to her feet and steps over his legs. There's a Pokeball in her hand and she's sending out a Toucannon to terrorize and take down the Medicham. It only takes a few painful pecks to the head and a point-blank BEAK BLAST to set it straight.[break][break]
