It seemed to be an easy job - the hard part of being the 'bodyguard' for the night seemed to be that Kazimir was more apt to join the fight himself. No matter how many times she insisted he wasn't a Pokemon, and therefore couldn't pit himself against the competition, she still had to keep one eye on the guy.[break][break]

When the third bodyguard showed up to held a hand - did they really need three? This must be a super big deal fight tonight, damn - Stormy glances up from her phone to flash the woman a smile.[break][break]

She's quickly getting in a game of mobile Kubfu-Fighters. She's grown addicted to the adorable fighting, and was effectively learning all of the combos to cancel moves, cross-up attacks, smash through their hitboxes and land tricky hitstuns. There was something else too, but she hadn't figured out how to take advantage of the enemy's frame advantage or how they could possibly keep juggling combos as they did.[break][break]

Honestly, she had been playing for hours and hadn't learned a damn thing. She wasn't much of a mobile gamer.[break][break]

But with June arriving, it gives her a second longer to die to the first boss, the tutorial boss. She sighs, pocketing her phone.[break][break]

"Think we're gonna run into any trouble tonight? Name's Stormy, by the way! It's a pleasure to meet you."[break][break]

She extends her hand to shake June's, still smiling.

when she called him up about having a job to do at a local fighting ring he was under the impression that he would get to join in on the fighting as a participant. even if it was him or his pokemon he was excited by the notion, all of them had learned many tricks over the past few weeks, a cross up barrage of attacks, juggling opponents and breaking their defense with effective teamwork, all sorts of stuff. instead he was outside making sure no one with criminal intentions would try and come in.

so far nothing had happened other than their third member of the bodyguard squad showing up a few minutes late, but by that time he and stormy were engrossed in a new mobile game. he was doing a bit better than stormy, fighting games were a guilty pleasure of his and he knew enough to recognize a move's hitbox to effectively dodge and counter attack to make use of the frame advantage that gave him cause boy oh boy were some of these bosses a bit tricky to try and trigger hit stun on them. it wasn't until stormy spoke up first that pulled him up from his phone and wave at their teammate. "name's kaz. and if we do, just leave the trouble to me. i can rough them up real good." with a twist of his neck audible cracks could be heard as the man released all the tension built up from just standing around.

”Likewise! The name’s June.” June smiled back, taking Stormy’s offered hand for the shake.

”Eh as boring as it might be I doubt it. If people are smart they’ll know not to start making trouble in a place filled with people who can and are itching to fight.” She’d add, thinking to herself starting shit in here sounded like a really good way to end up in a body bag.

The cadet took this job figuring it’d be easy and that there was a good chance that she’d be able to see a nice show. Now honestly she’d rather get into some action but watching was nice.

”That’s good and well but don’t think for a second I’m going to let you have all the fun.” June said turning her attention over to Kazimir.

As much as it was tempting to check out the fight and the fighters they had a job to do so instead June began scouting out the place and taking note of anything interesting.

Stormy glances at Kazimir as he cracks his neck. The sound is loud and honestly pretty disgusting.[break][break]

"Aren't you worried one day, you'll break your neck doing that?"[break][break]

She shudders at the thought, but returns her attention at the returned handshake. With a head tilt and a smile, Stormy beams at the girl before following her gaze to the ring. There was already some hubbub going on, excitement building as the fight underwent preparations to start. It appeared to be a Gengar facing off against a Charizard to start.[break][break]

"Don't let him have all the fun, June."[break][break]

She chuckles, shaking her head at the man and his excitement. [break][break]

"Feel free to watch, by the way. I won't snitch. I don't think anyone will be bold enough to pick a fight tonight- no one that isn't already in the ring, that is."[break][break]

The Pokemon involved tonight were way too strong to risk getting killed for. Probably.

"you'd be surprised just how dumb and crazy people can be." kaz said as they entered the establishment and he was already rubbing his neck. maybe stormy was right and he would end up getting it broken like that. still it probably wouldn't be as worse as whatever happened to the poor fellow that tried to do something criminal in here. if they couldn't stop a crook then perhaps one of the many violent pokemon fighting below just might. it would make their job a hell of a lot easier. "i once saw a guy get rush into a cage match to try and step on a charizard's tail to save his pikachu. guy came out of it ok but the whole thing turned into a shit show."

June would shrug at Stormy’s suggestion to watch, the reassurance that she wouldn’t snitch if June did decide to do so was nice and noted.

”I’m sure someone will have recorded the fight so I’ll just watch it that way.” She replied. Though she’d have to be careful doing things that way as some of these people were definitely going to try and charge people for copies of the fight and those could cost an arm and a leg.

And besides, she wasn’t trying to get yelled at in the event that something did happen but maybe just maybe she might take a peek in a bit.

”Sounds like this guy had a real death wish. So let’s hope we don’t have any of those crazy and dumb people here tonight, don't think I'd want to go 1v1ing a Charizard. Easy money is the best money.”

Absently, she glances over her shoulder and does a brief scan of the audience. Nothing amiss.

while the talk of money and betting was being had by his co workers kaz was more focused on watching the actual fight itself than even his current assignment. it was only when the question asked to june was when he decided to cut in with his own opinions. "Think the gengar has this one. its jumping around way too much for the charizard to actually land a hit on it. plus it looks like its got a few good moves against the lizard, kinda sad really. i was rooting for the big lizard." without even missing a beat or moving anything but his hand he pointed at a gentleman a few seats down from their row, "by the way that guy's been looking left and right and into his pocket for a while now. i think he snuck something in."

As all of their focus turned to the fight and they were pondering the outcome June put her hand to her chin as she thought it over a bit.

”We can’t count out the Charizard yet, one good move and the battle will be over.” She began, shrugging quickly after.

”The big don lizard’s got more bulk on the Gengar and the only way I can see it wrapping this up quickly is if it knows some specific moves like thunderbolt.” She finished thinking that this would be a fight that she wouldn’t bet on; it was much too close for her liking.

June would then look over to the man Kazimir pointed out, watching the stranger’s rather odd behavior.

”We could check it out but should probably just have one of us go. Don’t want the guy getting spooked and running off.”

"My guess is they both have moves that could take the upper hand. It all comes down to who's faster - it's gonna be a game of chicken."[break][break]

Because she could see the sneaky tendrils of warning in the Charizard's claws. The Gengar had lightning dancing behind his eyes, like he'd swallowed a storm cloud. They were biding their time, wearing each other down. The end of the battle was coming - it was just a matter of who let up first.[break][break]

Stormy's attention shifts to the man Kazimir points out. She purses her lips, thinking.[break][break]

"Wonder what it is. I'll take the hit this time. Save my seat."[break][break]

She taps the back of the bench before taking it upon herself to check out whoever this guy was. She did it as subtly as she could, opting to stand next to him and gestured to the seat beside him that was currently vacant.[break][break]

"Excuse me, is this seat taken? I'm afraid someone took my seat, and I'm wondering if maybe there was a mix-up."

as stormy sat down next to the man he almost jumped in his seat as he turned to her and nodded as she asked if the seat was taken, allowing her to sit next to him. now he looked even more jumpy than before and it only took a few minutes for him to excuse himself and ask her to save his seat as he went to the bathroom. perhaps a splash of water on his face would help calm his nerves.

he barely made it ten steps before sprinting like a mad man and tossing a pokeball into the air. from inside of it out popped a jiggly puff that floated down into the middle of the ring, interrupting the fight and getting some boos from the crowd. "wasn't expecting that..." kaz commented as the pink puffball looked around in shock and then suddenly anger at the sounds of the audience. how dare they give her such treatment! suddenly the pink pokemon brought out its secret weapon, a handheld microphone that spread its voice all around as it begun to sing.

June would watch Stormy as she approached the person of interest. The Silph would be able to take care of herself there was no doubt there but that didn’t mean June wasn’t going to watch her back and make sure things went smoothly.

And besides this was their job and June didn’t have anything else better to be doing. That was why when the man decided to get up and take off June went after him.

”There’s no bloody way I’m letting you getaway.” She pulled some Pokéballs from her belt and then released her Boltund, Herdier, and Taillow.

”Kite use Quick-Attack, don’t let him get away!” Her Pokémon would charge after the man and she would’ve followed suit but something stopped her.

”Is that singing?” She’d turn, facing the direction the melody was coming from and raised a brow. What was going on and why did she feel sleepy?

She sits, waits, quietly observes. He seems nervous, twitchy. Something is definitely up but she's careful not to rattle him further. [break][break]

When he gets up to leave, however, Stormy gets up not long after.[break][break]

Her quick-thinking would put a stop to the SING, counteracting the sleep-inducing move with an UPROAR from her loud-mouth Rotom. It clanked around like a bat out of hell, causing enough ruckus to wake the dead.[break][break]

The Pokemon in the ring simultaneously work together to take down the Jigglypuff.[break][break]

And it seems as though June was on the 'stop the weird twitchy guy' part. Or was, until the singing had put some sleep in her step.[break][break]

"Hold it!"[break][break]

Another Pokemon is released, one that has the ability to string the sketchy man up in webs. The shiny Galvantula sits on top of the webbed up man, thrilled to be of service.

the ladies were much quicker on the draw than kazimir was as they managed to not only snag the perp but also put a stop to the jigglypuff making sure everyone had a good night sleep all of a sudden. with a yawn he walked over to their captured bounty and he squatted down in front of the man and gave him a stare that could even chill a demon's heart. "so why don't ya tell us...what. ya. thought you gonna do. hm?" the man spilled his beans about how he had a lot of money riding on this fight. however he would only get paid if it ended in a draw and instead of leave it up to chance he tried to make it happen all on his own. kaz just gave a laugh.

"wow first of all, that was one hell of a dumb bet my dude. second," with one hand he managed to life the man to his feet as more security guards made their way over to escort him out of the building, "next time don't drink so much caffine or whatever, you look ready to jump outta your shoes." as he waved goodbye to the culprit he turned to both june and stormy and gave them a thumbs up. "well...that was pretty easy yeah?!"
