the furfrou's ability is replaced with simple. it doesn't seem to affect the pokemon much in a physical sense until the furfrou uses cotton guard, increasing it's fluff in an abnormal amount, doubling its effect.

"look at how cute he looks," kyle fawns over the furfrou.

kyle takes out his phone from his pocket and takes a picture of the furfrou. the smile lingers until it turns to an expression of someone who's dead inside. kyle doesn't want his pokemon to shed too much with this move, especially somewhere as humid as the beach.

If you could consider his half-scowl and narrow eyes as an expression of being chipper, it paints just how much he enjoys his time off.

"Should be an easy first place record, no? Drinks on me if our names end up on the leader board."

It goes without saying, Fernando endears himself whether they come in first or last. This is just an excuse to cheer them up to an impeccable performance. Without the same fortitude as the other Pokemon, his Girafarig PSYCHES UP to match their showing. It looks out of place among all the fur but the menacing sheen of its coat dares for someone to try and test its durability.

fernando's offer piques kyle's interest as he steers away from his furfrou for a moment towards him.

"how come you don't do this all the time," kyle whines.

fernando certainly did not do it when they finished the tower challenge, and after they accomplished a lot of things, such as shaping a meta, in a vrmmorpg among other things. kyle wonders if he should start bringing people that looked professional so he can impress them, and kyle gets to be the collateral.

Remiel acknowledges the interaction between the three men, and only nods in approval when he catches Fernando's sight. He isn't typically one to fraternize in such a way. But he's willing to make an exception given the climate. Especially considering the company involved.

Regardless, not much more attention is spared to that afterwards as Wednesday absolutely endures a pelting of foam balls. She uses her psychic powers to force the next wave of them backwards from her, giving Remiel a chance to safely catch up. "Well done, Wednesday. Let's do better."

Just as he manages to get the question out, a ball flies right over his head. Fernando ducks a bit too late but the shot is barely off the mark. Keeping a bit lower, he follows after his Girafarig, using it as a meat shield.

there's a yelp from the furfrou after kyle's protest that distracts the trainer. it keeps on going through the course regardless as kyle notes that it's relatively unmoved by one of the obstacles trying to throw them off the track.

The next platform they hop onto is more or less just a big round saucer that shifts and tilts according to the weight placed upon it. Moving across it to get to the other end isn't initially too difficult. It simply requires a bit of balance and agility. But the foam torpedos that are fired at them while they try to do so, from volunteer-manned cannons surrounding them all over, makes things a degree more difficult. It's when Remiel realizes most of these volunteers are children that he nearly slips and falls, threatening to destabilize.

Thankfully, Wednesday tanks a torpedo for him like it is nothing, then uses her Psychic abilities to stabilize him before they continue to push on.

Despite his demeanor and reputation, Fernando's much too preoccupied with the course to retort with actual malice. The fact Kyle brings it up at all boggles his mind. Although he considered their relationship as casually profession, maybe Kyle really did want to make him his best friend.

Unlike Remiel, Fernando doesn't have the added safety of relying on his Pokemon to maintain his balance. So, to accommodate his lack of ability, Fernando resorts to a slow crawl to evade the blast as well as centering his gravity.

maybe he should be separating his hoarding tendencies he does on games to real life. he doesn't even like going to any establishment that serves alcoholic drinks.

the furfrou gets dropped as kyle uses it as a shield for another obstacle. there's a yip when it lands, but a whistle from kyle gets it back to its feet as it moves on.
