It was only when the altaria shedded its extra cottons that the poison seeped in, her face twitching at the sensation of pain. Tyratrum, still had jaws clinging to its flesh by its string jaws, tightened its clench with crunch that made Venus howl in pain.

“Knock him off, use DRACO METEOR once more,” wisps of flame gathered again around the bird and targeted the tyrantrum in an attempt to break free.

Throughout their battle, Gavin responds to her mockery and sneers with a graceful indifference. Though his Pokemon had endured several super effective hits, he knows that the Altaria should be similarly suffering. The strong jaws of Tyrantrum had further boosted the power of already super-effective moves, and poisoned her to boot.[break][break]

At last, Tyrantrum releases her hold on the Altaria. As the meteors form around the arena, Tyrantrum's STEALTH ROCK forms around her. The meteors slam into solid rock, breaking apart the protective shell but allowing the dinosaur to remain unharmed.

Tyrantrum summoned protective rocks against the mini-meteors which Selena appreciated as an innovative way of defending itself. The altaria was still wincing in pain from the poison, and if Patrick’s way of winnig this round was to stall it further, then he is successful. But—

“I don’t think so; Venus, use EARTHQUAKE,” altaria cannonballed into the ground, creating more tremors, as the ground exploded and bursted towards the rock dragon.

The dinosaur sways with a mournful growl, and Gavin recalls her.[break][break]

In her place, a shining silver Corviknight takes the field. The metal bird shuffles its wings with a grating sound, a gentle quark rising in its throat as it quickly adjusts to its surroundings. It scrapes its talons across the ground, HONING ITS CLAWS in preparation for a fight.

the altaria chirped with glee when the tyrantrum met its expected doom at the power of her earthquake, only to faint soon as patrick retrieved the dinosaur. “seems like everything is going according to your plan, eh?” she chuckled as she retrieved the ball from her pocket, a capsule with engraved orange-tinted stone. “but i haven’t used my ace yet. go circe!”[break][break]

a huge blaze of fire conjured on the arena and the delphox appeared from the wisps of its flames. she observed patrick as he commanded the corviknight with the sharpening of its claws, but she did not want to let this opportunity go to waste. circe held her staff with both her hands, listening to the surroundings as she absorbed the reinvigorating energy from the sun. her calm mind was what she needed to get past through the creature’s sturdy shell.[break][break]

It wasn't going to plan, but Gavin offers nothing in return to the taunt. His competitive nature is disguised behind a veneer of consistent calm.[break][break]

the delphox observed the corviknight’s movement before she drew her staff. drill peck connected with the vixen’s flesh, but circe’s magic manifested with the light from the sun, grass knots hugging avian’s metallic body as it tried holding the bird down.[break][break]

More so than she'd even realise; were this a life-or-death scenario, the Rocket's Pokemon were trained to kill. Tyrantrum's powerful jaws could snap bone, and Corviknight's sharp talons cut deep.[break][break]

The glow on Corviknight's feathers slowly fades as the mega-evolution cements. Larger, heaver, the small grass knots do their maximum damage — but the corvid's natural resistances shake off most of the effect. It is, however, held in place by them.[break][break]

Gavin smiles. "Blow them away."[break][break]

Unable to fly, the bird beats its powerful wings in place and whips up a WIND that demonstrates its RAGE. It looks to scatter the grasses that try to pin it down as well as to damage its tricky foe.

the delphox braced the incoming attack from Cillian Quinn's mega corviknight, raising the blazing staff and blowing a shield made from fire blast but it failed to fend off the incoming wind rage. like a candle light blown out by the gust of air, the vixen's flames immediately went off, catapulting her back into her trainer's side.[break][break]

selena rushed towards circe, checking to see if her delphox can still battle. the impact made a critical hit on the fox's body, and seeing how her face twitched in pain, the pinkette retrieved her capsule and recalled circe. afterwards, she stood up and smiled at gavin.[break][break]

“that was quite unexpected.” her hands reached her pocket, her fingers came back with a heart-shaped token. the gym leader tossed the badge to his side, expecting him to catch it. “as far as i am concerned, i guess your intuition pretty nailed it.”[break][break]
