Zac didn't own a suit. The cost of having a tailor made piece of clothing for him to wear once or twice a year was simply crazy, and rented suits were never big enough. They squeezed his muscles and made him walk funny. He would have to ask FERNANDO SILPH where the man got his suits made.

Instead, Zac was wearing his least crumpled Alolan shirt. It was black at least, with little Volbeats set on a starry background. Zac was wearing a tie. It stretched from his neck down to an appropriate tie length.

Beside him squidged Kibou the Dunsparce, who wasn't wearing a suit either, but had a sticker from the Mossdeep Space Center slapped squarely on his back. The sticker read 'Shoot for the Stars!'

An attendant tore off one half of his free entry ticket, and Zac started to wander, on the lookout for his cooking friends. If I were Priam or Oscar, where would I be? Zac thought to himself. He headed straight for the bar, but they weren't there. No luck. Where would Ki be? He headed for the dancefloor, heart dropping a little when he didn't find it full of cats. Instead, he spotted Eva Morales . "Hey Eva! You're looking great! Love the hair," he said, grinning at his gorgeous colleague as he joined her on the dancefloor.

"Mate the reason they're so protected is because of their healing powers!" Zac said, quickly dropping into educator mode. His voice was fast and clear as he explained the importance of the plants. "Zarude vines are rumored to be able to cure any illness, and even to lift some curses! I was on the lookout for one after I found out a friend of mine was sick, and Doug gave me one he caught during the tournament." Zac took out some polaroids from him bag, showing well-framed pics of the black and green primate. "Her name is Mambo! It's she a cutie?" Zac tapped the photo where, behind the monkey, there was a twisted pillar of vines that stretched up out of view. "I've been experimenting with her loose vines. So, do you feel any different? They sure work on me!"

"Yeah! They're supposed to have healing properties too. I read about that in some medical journals, that they have been using them to heal burns and stuff," Zac said, taking another bite and crunching on the icy treat. "I wanted to test if freezing the vines lessened their impact." He finished off the popsicle. "I guess we needed to be injured first, but at least I know it tastes better. Eating the vines raw is a real struggle." He recalled trying to choke down the freshly grown plant with Chu-e Choi and chryssa glasgow. They'd resorted to dipping the vines in barbecue sauce just to make them edible.

"Mostly blended up Zarude vines" Zac said, biting a chunk off his popsicle. He chewed on the icy mix, enjoying the gummy feel of the fruit pieces. "I made a healing green smoothie for a friend of mine, and after she spat it out because of the taste I set to work making it more palletable." Zac took another bite. "They've got Moo-Moo Monsoon milk in there too, along with berries from my garden. What do you think? Have I got a winner?"

The end of the shift was fast approaching, and as they got to work on the last order, Zac realized something shocking: they weren't going to finish cleaning in time. Even with the boosted Drifblim on dish duty, there was still all of Oscar's eggplant afterbirth and the broken fridge to fix. "Don't worry, I'll sort out cleanup," Zac said, and his Porygon-Z used Trick Room to make the room look clean. This would have to be Closing Shift's problem.

Zac headed for the door, and accepted his hearty bum-slap from oscar clayton as reward for a job well done.

"Let's see here," Zac said, grabbing the next ticket. They were almost at the end of their shift, and the orders were slowing down. Clipped to the ticket were four tickets inviting them to a meteor shower viewing at the Mossdeep Space Center. "Whoa! Looks like next up is a boys night out!"

Zac's Alolan Exeggutor popped its head in the side window, both excited at the prospect of stargazing and wanting to help. Kyle O-opez put Sneg to work, and a barrage of nuts and seeds were collected for use in the Loco Moco.
