Doug's eyes narrow briefly. Did his eyes fail him? For a sec there, it looked like Lyune's wing...

For her part, Kama too felt something strange from striking at the dragon's wing. A vicious part of her told her to strike at the seeming weak point again.

Then a cartoonish face of a disappointed Doug popped into her head, making her click her tongue. And then she got blasted right off Lyune, the blazing fire driving her all the way to the edges of the arena and threatening to send her hurtling out.

Nearly all living things were weak to fire, if one really thought about it, so what did it mean to have a true 'weakness' to fire? It meant nearly fainting from a single clean shot, Kama's eyes fluttering as the fire ceased, her knees buckling.

But Kama was nothing if not truly stubborn. A crimson aura surged before she fell, her foot coming down into a stomp to keep herself on her feet.

Ephemeral blue swords rose from the soil and danced around her, growing in length as their hue changed to a deep crimson, before launching into the sky and swiveling back to stab into Kama. They did not ran her through, however, instead sinking into her like acupuncture needles.

Her muscles bulged as she was filled with power, her eyes aglow before she launched forth, her silhouette becoming a blur as she rushed to club at Lyune's stomach.

The battle came to an abrupt end, the last raging bull proving more than Kama could take. 3 blows of super effective flames... perhaps she had lasted as long as one could hope.

Doug didn't look too perturbed, jogging up to the Scyther and lightly tapping her shoulder. Almost as if by magic, the wounds began to heal and the burns disappeared into nothing. Returning her to her pokeball, he turned back to Raju and waved at him from the center of the field, smiling.

"Hey! You guys did great, good job!" He called out to the other, jogging up closer to them. "Congrats on your victory, man! Good luck in the rest of the tourney."

"Melody?" He calls out as she quickly leaves the arena, confused by the abrupt farewell.

A panting Kama was laying on the ground, soaked to the bone as Doug approached the center of the arena, still looking after the retreating idol with a somewhat worried look in his eye.

"Huh." He muttered, rubbing at his neck. "Maybe I should visit more often... I've not been a very good friend to a lot of folk recently, huh?"

Kama didn't respond, merely panting, and he sighed, craning his head back to look at the sky.

"Yeah... I guess I really should."

Vs Melody Miro

Kama had come storming through so fast, she had damn near run into the wall herself, stopping herself short by... tripping and stumbling along the battlefield. Her natural agility kicked in, finding her footing just in time for her opponent to finish gathering herself after the blow.

Since the primarina was just making bubbles, Kama thought it would be a good time to gather her breath and wits...

But.

As it turned out, those bubbles were actually nuclear fucking warheads.

Kama's undignified squawks were drowned (hue) out by the explosiveness of the massive bubbles that had covered the battlefield, the Scyther finding herself trapped in land ocean.

She struggled madly against it, kicking and swinging her scythes at nothing.

And then Doug raised his arm in the air, the Z-crystal upon it gleaming brightly.

The familiar surge of energy welled up within her, Kama's eyes growing wide as she brought her scythes together and released a full powered cross swing, unleashing a storm within the ocean.

Nope, that was enough. "That's enough." Doug called out to the referee, raising a hand. "We surrender."

He jogged up to the center of the battlefield, his hand glowing as he began to heal the crunched up and torn wing immediately.

"Haah, this is it." He muttered to himself, the wound knitting together beneath his touch.

This was probably the reason his excitement for battling came and went. For every gem of a battle like the one with noah faber, there was another one like this. Accidents weren't uncommon in combat sports, but as a medic, he couldn't look past it like he had anymore.

"You good?" He asked a surly Kama, who responded by flapping her wings. He smiled. "You're good."

Returning her to her pokeball, he turned back to Blue and offered an apologetic smile.

"Sorry 'bout ending the fun early— Still, congrats on your victory. You two did wonderfully."

Kama attempted to move through the storm, her swords dance seeming to match whatever unheard rhythm it was that Melody and her lot followed.

But rule #1 of fighting was never falling into your opponent's rhythm (don't quote me on that), so...

Before long, the petals had taken her off her feet, sending her hurtling back towards the edge of the arena, her scythes coming down to keep her inside the battlefield.

Panting harshly, Kama lowered her stance and hunkered down for a moment before launching forth yet again, her silhouette blurring as she accelerated to her maximum speed, attempting to barrel right through the mist, the storm and the Primarina all at once.

The scyther had a moment to appreciate her handy work, seeing the hyena bounce around the battlefield with a smug grin.

It was a brief moment though— before the canine was right back at her, tackling her to the floor with that impressive brute force it carried.

Kama cried out and thrashed about with her arms and legs, but it was hard to beat the mightyena at her own game—

And that was when Doug raised his arm in the air, grinning.

"Play hard, Kama!" He hooted cheerfully as the Z-energy enveloped Kama, granting her just enough force to move as she pleased, weight on her be damned.

So she began to spin about wildly, arms outstretched and wings flapping madly in place, her body quickly rising in the air as a tornado was generated around herself.

Vs Thomas Benoit

Kama released a gasp of breath as her Z-move ceased, collapsing onto her knees whilst panting. She thought she might've heard Ripper last hurrah's, but was so exhausted she wasn't sure if she had hallucinated it.

Doug jogged up to the two pokemon after the match was called, crouching besides Kama to lay a hand on her shoulder for healing, before shooting some healing scales Ripper's way as well.

Patting Kama's back, he whispered with a smile. "You've been doing amazing, love. Great job." He said, before returning her to her pokeball.

Turning to Thomas, he clapped his hand around the larger man's own, smiling brightly.

"Thanks, man! It means a lot coming from ya!" He said. He felt much older now after Galar, but perhaps a part of his younger self still remained— he felt warm inside to hear those words from a mentor. "It's been a while since we hung out, man. Let's go for a meal!"

He was about to say drink... but he didn't drink anymore.

Kama's eyes bulged wide as the pincers came clamping down around her with crushing force, her own scythes rapidly coming in like hooks to try and catch before her whole midsection was crushed.

Not that Ripper would do that on purpose —Hopefully— but survival reflexes and what not.

She struggled mightily against the monstrous grip strength of the Scizor... and that was when Doug intervened, raising his own Z-bracelet in the air.

And busting down his moves, suddenly beginning to breakdance.

Which meant one thing— a red haze surrounded Kama as her eyes glowed, before she released a mighty roar and spread her wings wide. Flapping them madly, she began to spun in place, generating a large storm around herself!

Kama felt instant relief the moment the opponent was dislodged— and then the venom kicked in after the exterior pain had faded, and she was instantly in a worse mood.

Her scythes came together as the next blow came, the powerful strike forcing a wheeze out of her whilst sending her skidding back, her teeth grit.

She didn't let it deter her, however, her arms blurrying before two booming claps thundered within the arena, followed by oncoming walls of wind barreling towards her opponent.

Kama stumbled back as her opponent fell with a dramatic burst of crystal, the bug's legs buckling underneath her weight as the adrenaline carrying her before began to ebbed away, leaving behind exhaustion and elation wrapped up in one.

Even more so when a familiar pair of arms came up from behind to pick her up, yanking her off the floor with an exhilarated cheer.

"Child of a gun, ya really pulled that off!" He boomed as he tried throwing her in the air. Unfortunately, he could not throw 120 pounds of weight up, so the body came back down almost immediately. "O-woah!"

They stumbled about like drunkyards, before sprawling on the court gracelessly.

Kama could only groan, and Doug could only laugh.

After a moment, he forced himself to sit up, laying a hand on Kama's shoulder once again to begin the healing process— before pointing a digit Noah's Kama's way, shooting some healing scales as well.

Rising back up, he patted the dirt off his ass before grinning brightly at Noah.

"Hoooey! Been a while now since I saw Kama at her best like that. Think I'll be buying the CD reels for that one's soon as I'm outta'ere!" He said, holding out his hand to Noah. "Thanks for the match, man. That was really fun."

The other youth and his pokemon seemed nice. And funny.

"Biscotti, got it! That's a pretty good name!" He said while Kama stepped up to the battlefield.

The battle would begin soon.

"Hope you've been having fun with the tourney!" He said politely, before the bell initiating the match rang. "Us, we've had our ups and downs... but fun's the one thing we're good at! Ready when you are!"

Kama nodded at the Incineroar that was to be her opponent before couching low, signaling she was about to start. Then, she lunged at high speed, rushing across the battlefield to meet her opponent in close quarters with surprising boldness.

And charging through worked fine as well, the blazing flames crashing into Kama with fearsome power, searing away at her limbs.

She was gritting her teeth as she was sent hurtling away, lucky enough to not have been gored as well in the whole process.

Things weren't looking great for her.

Throwing down her scythes to the soil to grind herself to a stop, Kama stood back to her full height and breathed in deeply—

Before a surge of energy enveloped her, her eyes narrowing as she reeled back her arm, gathering the sudden power around her scythe.

With a wild swing, she unleashed a storm her opponent' way.
