Elinor gave a small confirming nod. Sygna suits were truly great, though it sounded like there were some new functionalities that hers hadn’t quite acquired yet. She would have to look into that.

But Sygna Suits weren’t the focus here. “I didn’t. And that’s probably for the better.” Elinor admitted.

“Homesickness got the better of me. Alto Mare is nice and all, but it is no Hoenn” Though she didn’t like to admit it. Being back home in Hoenn was like eating the perfect milk and cookies.

The battle came to an end. Time stood still for what felt like months. A gentle breeze washed over the participants of this little situation.

Shaymin had been defeated. Elinor felt the itch in her hand, her trainers' instinct to capture it. Yet, she would give it the choice. It could run away if it wanted to. Yet it did not. Shaymin stuck around, and Elinor took it as a sign.

She allowed the Red and white sphere to gently fall upon the Shaymin capturing the little creature. And with it her tour of this place came to an end. With her newfound capture, and her partner Pokemon she made her way over the Floral bridge safely.

You would think that Lars was being attacked by a Yeti the way he reacted. It managed to get quite the chuckle out of Elinor. Still, Lars managed to defend himself quite readily. Perhaps years of experience in cuddly assaults had honed his defense?

Minccino used his raised hands as a set-of for a change in directions, letting herself land elegantly on the desk instead.

“Morrigan, come back here.” Elinor stated and with that the Minccino was off the desk and onto her shoulder in the blink of an eye. Just in time for Elinor to answer Lars’s question.

“Boredom, home-sickness, realized you wouldn’t survive without me. Take your pick.” She cheekily replied.

Kaleo was hard at work, breaking as much ice as he could while also avoiding getting a facefull of ice cold water.

Elinor’s eyes had been focused on this display of physical prowess that Kaleo was performing when something else caught her attention. A flying Pokemon heading in her direction… No wait, that was no Pokemon! That was a human, and not just any human it was Andrea!

Elinor grimaced shortly at the sight of the landing, but that was quickly exchanged with a big beaming grin as Andrea pounced her with a hug. Elinor was caught off-guard and it took her a moment to reciprocate the hug, but in the end she did.

A “I missed you too.” was quickly and honestly replied, quickly followed with a “It’s.. It’s okay. That’s in the past now.” And it was a past she’d rather not spend too long reminiscing on.

“More importantly. You can fly now?”

Lars’s reply caught Elinor by surprise. Still, she took the challenge he now posed her head on. And for a moment she tried to compose some manner of elaborate explanation that would be enough to convince the salt-bae to believe her.

But then an idea struck her. She had a Pokémon in her collection that was sure to convince him. And so she pulled a Pokéball from her belt and said feigning hurt. “You wound me Cuz. Maybe this will convince you.”

And with it a Pokemon was released. The Minccino released in mid air. Going in a downward jump toward Lars with a Peppermint-fresh smile on its lips.

LOCATION: Verdanturf Ranger HQ

“Oh?” Something caught her attention in the distance. “Is that?” She muttered as a smile formed. Afterall what were the chances? But whether it was or wasn’t a familiar face, Elinor could see that Pokemon had been set to work breaking the ice.

I suppose I could help. Elinor thought as a shiver ran down. She turned to a sailor that stood nearby and quickly asked how the ship would fare against chunks of ice. Once the ship's safety had been confirmed Elinor returned her attention to the ice and the helper in the distance.

She grabbed a Pokeball from her trainer belt and allowed the bright shiny Kommo-o manifest on the ship’s deck.

“Kaleo Bulk-up a few times and then help break that ice.”

The Kommo-o didn’t seem eager to jump into what looked to be ice-cold water. But it nodded nevertheless. An orange huge washed over Kaleo accentuating its muscles before it jumped off the railing of the ship and toward the thick ice. And as it fell toward the Ice fire ignited around its fist.

And as it was about to land the Kommo-o threw a heavy FIRE-PUNCH transforming a huge piece of the ice into a loud cascade of cracked ice and splinters flying away. Dexterously it used one of the larger pieces about to float away to jump onto what remained of the ice.

There was still plenty of ice to break.

Lars didn’t know she had returned yet. And this gave her the perfect opportunity. She would surprise him. An early present, surely it would please him. After all, he had looked so drearily sad when she had told him she would stay behind in Alto Mare.

Clad in her old? Ranger’s uniform, she would move through the Verdanturf HQ with speed and precision making sure that no other ranger had the chance to inform him of her coming.

She made her way to his office quickly. How did she know this was his office? Well, that question was better left unanswered.

With a firm grip on the door-handle she swung the door open as she loudly proclaimed “Wake up Sleepy head, guess who's back!”

Two months might not seem like much in the grand scheme of things. But it felt like enough. Alto Mare could only keep her occupied for so long before her heart began to yearn for home.

And so Elinor had returned by cruise ship, taking the long trip because she wasn’t in a hurry. Admittedly the tour over the ocean had been dark and gloomy, the skies seemingly never showing an ounce of sun at the best of days and at the worst of days it had been rather tumultuous. She wondered why.

Still, waves and wind be damned they made it to Slateport Harbor or at least close to. For the Harbor had momentarily frozen over with a thick layer of ice alongside a neat white carpet of snow. To make matters worse it seemed there was not an ice-breaker in sight.

Elinor stood upon the deck alongside her fellow tourists, wondering why the Silent Icelands had reached this far all of a sudden and thanking herself for the foresight to dress warmer than she usually did.

Leaning leisurely against the railing, she couldn't help but mutter quietly to herself. "I wonder how long it'll take them to fix that..."

Before answers could be given, they had unfortunate company.

An Onix would deign them with its presence angry for one reason or another. The wide swinging attacks and the rocks falling from the walls all combined into one quick mix of get-the-hell-out.

She gave Josh a quick nod, then gestured for her Dragapult to keep the Onix occupied for a moment.

The Dragon Ghost nodded and went to work while Elinor would attempt to help the rescued Pokemon escape from this unfortunate mishap.

Lars’s little joke did manage to urge out a little smile and a chuckle of her own. And yet she did not add to the joke, instead diverting her attention to the question posed.

“Let’s do the outdoor pitch then.” Elinor confirmed.

And as she spoke the Aggron did a few initial warm-up stretches, readying itself to unleash hell upon what unfortunate Pokemon Lam would put in front of it.
