Clad in her usual sleek grey business suit, pink hair tied into a tight bun at the base of her neck. She tried to exude the professionalism required for this undertaking.

While her face had locked itself in a friendly, but slightly stoic smile. She found her heart beating fast with excitement. It was the first time she found herself within this dimensional pocket, and it would be the first time that she would meet people from sea!Hoenn.

She gave Mathias a nod, as he reminded them that though their purpose was diplomacy, it offered them no protection in here, perhaps even the opposite. And then she turned her attention to her surroundings, trying to figure out from which path their guests would emerge.

Uncanny Mansion [M]

Elinor had to admit. She had never done much Trick-or-treating, but with a meteor hurtling towards them. She figured she should at least let her Minh her Bagon get to experience the joys of scamming people out of candy.

Dressed in a Cofagrigus-inspired costume complete with the very mask granted to her by her now deceased Cofagrigus, some might claim it was her attempt at remembering her lost Pokémon.

Elinor walked behind the young Illumina stripe-patterned Bagon. Its bright rainbow colors call attention to it. Though perhaps the costume it wore did so more than the stripes. Minh had been given her pick of any costume she might’ve wanted, and for some reason she had picked the pinkest, brightest most sparkling of all Princess dresses, complete with tiara and a handbag made to fit.

The choice had surprised Elinor, but she had indulged the Dragon-type. And for once the Bagon now walked the streets, not with a scowl but with a bright smile upon her reptilian lips.

And so after having read the message sent by Josh, they both made their way to meet their wayward Protégé. Though she probably couldn’t call him as such any longer. Once close enough for him to see and heard her, she would raise her arms in a most spooky fashion and say “Greeeeeetings!” trying to mimic the corniest ghost greeting she could.

Elinor’s attention was moved to Josh Dragomir as he began to reveal fancy new gifts for the Rangers. As he spoke and showed off these new spy glasses. She was reminded of Amor Rose’s very own Holowatch. While she had intended to get one of her own, it seemed like she didn’t have to now.

She quickly went up, snatched one, and went back to her seat as she began to fiddle around with it. “This is neat,” Elinor commented as she finally figured out how to make it unfold. “I know you’ve mentioned security measures, and I will admit I am not much of a tech person, so I apologize in advance if I am about to make fool of myself here.” She paused as she thought about her wording.

“But what measures have been taken to make sure these aren’t trackable by unwanted parties? I mean, as fancy as they are. I wouldn’t want to make our Rangers into target practice for Rocket Ambushes.” Perhaps it was a bit of a rough wording, and perhaps GPS signals didn’t work like that, what did she know, but it was a valid concern in her mind?

This anger felt wrong. She disliked it. Like poison running through her vein, burning each cell it touched. And yet it had filled her for a brief moment, enough to call the unprofessionalism out. And though it tried to keep latched on, she pushed it away as she found her chair once more and sat back down.

The comforting weight of Callan Young’s jacked found its way to her shoulder. Its smell, though the owner was right beside her still eased away the anger that tried to hold on. She accepted the pocket cloth that he offered her in these trying times and used it to clean her face of what pie pieces she had not gotten on her first swipe. “Thank you.” She quietly spoke to him. She wanted to give him a kiss, but she had just berated everyone for being unprofessional, and so she had to adhere to her own demands.

And so she sat there quietly watching as her anger awoke Laurence Anderson. He called everyone to attention, explained to everyone in no uncertain terms that this was not all right, and even pointed out that anything she saw here, would most likely be informed to the rest of the council.

And from that, the next topic of the meeting spawned. This time they were to share information. She didn’t have a lot to share, luckily Josh Devlin, Raziel Beckett, Kaida Adachi, and Talia Celes had more than enough for the whole lot of them. She listened with great interest as they regaled their tales, taking particular note of Josh’s experience. Though it had been but a vision, in the end, the pain of loss was real. Like a dagger to the heart, she felt his loss for it was a pain she was all too familiar with. And still, he stood here proclaiming his dream to the others, and that was brave, for she knew how self-conscious about it telling it, he was.

And so she decided to say nothing, only sending a very empathetic gaze toward Josh. She had nothing to add to that tale, and for now, would let the other Rangers discuss this experience.

Though for those who might be keeping their tabs on her. They might notice that the moment assassins targeting Laurence Anderson were mentioned, she would tense up and gaze towards her cousin. If anyone even dared try, then the anger she had shown before would be naught but a drop in the ocean compared to this.

Spooky Scary Skeletons (Mission)

It was that time of the year. The time to dress in spooky costumes to appease imaginary spirits. Elinor had spent far too much time in the past attending events like this. Alas, she had to spend even more time tonight.

This event was a large costume party thrown by some influential merchant family (No, not the Anderson’s this time) as a sign of strength and influence. Everybody whose name was just mildly recognizable or who perhaps knew someone with influence, was invited.

Currently, she stood at the edge of a gathering of people up-and-coming trainers and influential personas. All dressed in various costumes some tasteful others not so much. Elinor had chosen to dress in a Cofagrigus-inspired costume complete with the very mask granted to her by her now deceased Cofagrigus, some might claim it was her attempt at remembering her lost Pokémon.

Anyhow, gossip was spread quickly amongst the group. Though the veracity of it could be put into question. Of course, none of the rumors held any substance to her. It ranged from scandalous rumors of celebrity hook-ups to League conspiracies. The latter was something she listened to with a morbid curiosity, as she from time to time gently nudged the mask up to take a sip from the drink she carried.

“No offense taken,” Ivysaur said accepting the apology as the Torchic took responsibility for what it had done.

The Ivysaur looked towards the sky. “How could I not when given the opportunity? Training day in and day out with no proper rest is bad for you.” The grass-type spoke wisely, its voice sounding almost older than it appeared.

“So if I may ask. Why are you running around when you could be napping?” The Ivysaur returned the question, perhaps hoping to stir some thoughtful debating with the Torchic.

Who Ordered A Family Reunion?

The Rotom gave her a stern nod. While it didn’t like it, Porygon-Z had accepted AUTUMN ANDERSON, and so it had to agree with it.

The Porygon-Z took the luggage and left the Rotom to close the door as the Data-Pokémon would lead the woman through the place. And as they would walk Autumn would get a nice view of how Elinor liked to decorate. Each room from the foyer to the kitchen, living room, and anything in between had a clean sleek theme in sterile blacks and whites, with the occasional picture or flower, it was woefully lacking in personality. The whole thing might as well have been taken out of a home décor magazine.

However, should Autumn look around, she would find that Rotom and Porygon-Z weren’t the only Pokémon calling this place their home. From one room the sound of a bunch of Eevee emerged as they played with their evolved brethren. And as they walked past the spacious kitchen she would be able to see A Banette helping a brightly Illumina-patterned Bagon to grab the cookie Jar. Should their eyes meet the Ghost-type would put an appendage in front of its zipper-mouth to show that they ought not to snitch on them.

At last, they would reach what would be sleeping quarters. One master bedroom and one guest bedroom are located beside each other.

The door to the master bedroom hadn’t been closed properly. If she had the gall to look inside she would see the same sleek but minimally decorated room. Save instead of pictures a framed Gym-Badge display adorned the wall above her bed. So far four had found their way into the display, plus an additional Minor League Gym badge beneath them. But if the badges didn’t catch her attention, then perhaps the rather sizeable birds who currently slept soundly in Elinor’s bed. A Hisuian Braviary and a Talonflame snuggled closed up against each other as they were deep in their nap time. Perhaps better left undisturbed.

But the other bedroom, while considerably smaller would provide with still ample living space. The room was already furnished with what a guest might need such as a bed, desk, chair, proper lighting, etc. But sparse in personality as everything else was.

It was clear to anyone that while this place was Elinor’s residence, she didn’t spend a whole lot of time here.

The Porygon-Z humbly gestured for Autumn to walk in and make herself at home. But alas, unlike Rotom it did not have speakers to convert his Pokémon voice into understandable human speech.

Meeting after meeting was getting tiresome. But with a giant space rock hurdling ever closer towards them, she could do naught but attend each and every one that she was invited to.

However, all the work was starting to take a toll on her. Small hints of faint bags underneath her eyes were hidden by precise usage of make-up. Though her hair was tied in a tight-pink bun, and her professional grey business suit looked as dapper and well fitting as always, a new addition could be seen, for in her hand she now carried a mug of the strongest caffeinated drink money allowed her to buy at SAWSBUCK.

Still, she entered the meeting room trying to appear as chipper as always. “Hello there!” She gave illeana reyes a small wave with her none-coffee carrying hand “Oh am I the first one here?” She muttered in surprise as she looked around before taking a random seat at the table.

She had said her piece, she had hoped this would bring some ease to the discomforting tension the Rangers were sure to be feeling.

Oh, how wrong she was. Suddenly a pie appeared. Perhaps she had been too busy hoping against all odds that these people, these ADULTS would know the gravity of the situation and behave accordingly. The creamy pie hitting her straight in the face, only to fall down on the table in front of her, leaving chunks that slowly dripped down, proved her wrong.

She took a deep breath, cream daring to follow the air into her lungs through her nose, but she was spared the pain as she wiped away what she could with a quick swipe of her right hand. Then she slammed both palms onto the table and stood up furiously sending the chair careening backwards until it fell with a clang.

“ENOUGH!” Elinor yelled mustering every bit of authority and anger into her voice as she channeled her inner GABRIEL BLACK or was it perhaps dahlia goode ?

“THIS IS NEITHER THE TIME NOR THE PLACE FOR A FOOD FIGHT! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND SIT THE FUCK DOWN SO THAT LARS MIGHT PERHAPS KEEP SOME SMALL GLIMMER OF HOPE THAT YOU ALL ARE CAPABLE OF SUCCESSFULLY DOING THE JOB THAT WE HAVE TO DO.” She had to take a quick breath before she continued to yell loudly. “AT THE VERY LEAST RESPECT LARS ENOUGH TO SIT STILL FOR THE DURATION OF A SINGLE MEETING, THIS IS THE LEAST THAT CAN BE EXPECTED OF ALL OF YOU.”

Now the words had been said, they could not be taken back. She looked towards Lars, an apologetic look in her eyes. “I am sorry about that, Lars.”

It was not often that Ivysaur was sent to the daycare. With a strict training regime, some might even say it was odd for it to be sent here. But, sometimes you just needed to relax a little. Lay around on the lovely warm ground right in the middle of the play area, while it enjoyed the sun as it baked down upon your growing back-plant.

Or at least it would if something didn’t bump into it. It rose reluctantly from its comfortable position and turned to look at the rascal who thought it wise to disturb him as he was trying to have a most pleasant nap.

But then its eyes fell upon the little chick, surely too young and filled with energy to be contained within this place under such a lovely Sun. “Would you kindly look where you are running, I was trying to take a nap here.” While clearly not pleased with the disturbance, it spoke with no outright aggression in its voice.

As she gazed around she noticed some were looking to her for guidance. Perhaps someone remembered her station outside the Rangers. In particular, LANCE VOLLANS caught her attention. And she couldn’t fault him. But this was a Ranger meeting. If the rangers couldn’t be trusted to halt their own emotional tidal waves, then could they really be trusted with their job?

But then her attention was caught by Sénon Game, whose appearance she had not expected to see at all. Still, it was a welcome surprise, one that seemed much needed as his appearance helped curb the storm of emotions in here. Though as her eyes fell upon a baby once more, she looked puzzled. But seeing how addressing that had gone last time. She wasn’t about to pick that fight.

Luckily she didn’t have to for Laurence Anderson began to address the room. She looked towards him a mix of understanding and perhaps familiar pride in her eyes as he addressed the concerns of as many people as he feasible could.

Elinor’s eyes met with Lars for a brief moment, he did not need to say the words for her sake, she knew what was coming and was looking forward to seeing how the rest of the Rangers would react to the suggestion.

Rustboro was given their orders. She made a mental note of it, though given her other position, she was not sure she could help fulfill that part. But surely there were equally good rangers that could step up to the task alongside @boruto

While she noticed the small kerfuffle between Raziel Beckett, Matt Vice, and Josh Devlin. She decided not to pay it much attention, instead focusing on Lars’s exceptional motivational speech.

Elinor gave him an approving nod and gave him light applause for the speech before she began on one of her own. “Thank you Head Ranger Anderson for that moving speech.” She made sure to address him with the proper title and respect he deserved. “As a representative of the Council and as a Ranger, I will admit that what I just saw worried me.” She paused. “But I will not let a single lapse color my view of you all. And perhaps some of the tension in here is because of me or rather what I haven’t said.”

She looked out onto the room. “Some of you might think The League handed this task to the Rangers with the expectation that only Ranger resources would be used. This I can assure you is not the case. The League will provide what resources it can.” She took a moment to breathe. “And while I am sure a lot of you would appreciate a more detailed promise, I can’t provide these details just yet. But know that they will be given as quickly as possible.”
