His words made Mila laugh. "He seems like the type to think he's a lap dog." Her eyes twinkled with merry amusement as she looked at the large canine, who seemed to have no qualms about getting close in her Vincenzo's personal space as he breathed puffs of warm breath in his ear.

[break][break] Vinny made a bit of a grunt, but otherwise allowed him. There weren't many pokemon on Mila's team currently that were as friendly as the large hound appeared to be, but that didn't meant that the ice-type didn't have his fair share of experiences. Plus, at the very least, the fire-type didn't seem malicious.

[break][break] "Touché," the woman said with a smirk, in response to the other's comment about it being a bit early for alcohol. Even if she wasn't sure she agreed - some early mornings made for a lovely time to open a bottle of Chardonnay, or at the very least, some mimoas — he did have a point. She hummed under her breath lightly as she considered his words, her eyes playful, as she decided whether to take him up on his offer of asking her a few more prying questions. "I suppose I have no choice, huh?" she smirks.

[break][break] In the meantime, she allowed the quiet to settle over the both of them as angelo vestri prepared the second cup of coffee for the morning. The caffeine was finally beginning to settle, making her feel a little more settled and a little less sleep-deprived than she had a moment earlier. Her gaze follows his hands as he pours her another cup of coffee, and she goes over to grab it. "Well - " her voice, perhaps coy, lets out a sound of surprise as a wild Passiman appears out of nowhere and nearly bowls them over.

[break][break] Mila is quick on her feet, a hand going over to tug the back of her companion's collar so that he doesn't get barreled over in the process. Unfortunately, the coffee in her hand is knocked over and part of it spills on her skirt. She watches the ape pokemon disappear with a small huff, and then looks down at her skirt. It isn't ruined - at least, it was leather - but it does make things uncomfortable. Without a regard for her company, Mila unzips and steps out of her skirt, and then lifts it up in the air, likely somewhere near Angelo's face.

[break][break] Sensing a need, Vincenzo is quick to hop away from his canine companion and over to his owner, where he deposits a gleaming ice cube in her hands with a breath of cold air from ice shard. The ice sparkles in her grip as she runs it over the skirt, the cool liquid merging with the coffee stain and dripping down onto the grassy floor. Since the fire is still running - somehow - Mila leans over and places the fabric somewhere dry to warm, before finding another dry spot and settling down next to Angelo again. "Sorry about that," she says with a grimace. "Looks like I'll have to stay with you a bit longer. Not that I mind," she says with a wink.

Gyms weren't her thing — or at least, in the past, they hadn't been. It hadn't been an option for her, back then, being part of a crime syndicate who's main focus was to commit nefarious crime. And it was sort of difficult to complete said nefarious crime if people knew who you were. So Mila, and many people like her, had laid low. Because that was what she'd been told to do, by her parents, by her superiors, by the general law of rule and reason that she had abided by back then.

[break][break] But part of a fresh start meant actually starting afresh, and meant starting new things. New exciting things.

[break][break] "This'll be fun, don't you think Vicky?" she said cheerfully, to the Alolan Ninetales at her side.

[break][break] And that was how Mila Alexopoulos found herself standing in front of Billi Marsh 's gym.

[break][break] The fashion designer walked in with a flourish, opening the doors with a gust of cool air and a bang, stepping onto the fresh grass and soil of the ground. Normally, dirt wasn't really her thing, considering that it didn't really lend so easily to the 5 inch heels that were strapped to her ankle. But Mila had spent many years running around in heels to know exactly how to walk on the heels of her feet, or rather how not to. Her strides were smooth and easy as she crossed the pavilion, greeting the new gym leader with a dazzling smile.

[break][break] "Hi handsome," she said with a wink. "I'm Mila. And this is Vickey." The fox at her side raised his tails in greeting, but otherwise said nothing else.

[break][break] Up early? Well, that was one way of putting it. Or maybe, she had just never slept. It was impossible to tell, with the put-together nature of her outfit from her heels to her full face of makeup to the hat adorned just right on her person. Either way, Billi eventually went off to explain the conditions of the battle to her and Mila listened.

[break][break] Mila had been preparing for a boring old gym battle, but the challenge that the blond man offered her was intriguing. Her eyes brightened with interest, mind already churning with the possibilities. Vincenzo looked at his trainer, already recognizing the look on her face. It was the same face she wore when she had a new design in mind. Before he could even ponder what that meant, Mila was already stepping back from Billi and putting several yards of distance between them. With a twirl, she grabbed the pokeball at her waist and flipped it into the air, light sprawling onto the soft earth in the form of a snom.

[break][break]With a snap of her fingers, she directed them both. "Coco, use Powder Snow and Vickey help him out." Obediently, the ivory bug turned his mouth skyward and immediately began spewing a pool of beautiful, soft snow in the shape of a fountain. Vincenzo leaped backwards and opened his maw, releasing a Blizzard with his mouth to speed up the process. It was only a matter of time before they were able to turn Billi's forest haven into a winter wonderland.

[break][break] Mila, who was already slipping on the gloves she had pocketed, clapped her hands together with finality. She grinned. "Let's get started, huh boys?"

and there it was!

[break][break] mila's patience had finally paid off. just as she turned tail on the strange pokemon, there was a flicker of movement in the distance. soon enough, the sight of a wooper came into view but not just any wooper...

[break][break] "it's pink!" mila gasped with surprise, before her face brightened with glee. her footsteps quickened as she walked up to it and dropped to a squat as she inspected it. her hands wrapped themselves around her knees as she looked at it with a smile.

[break][break] the wooper stared at her with owlish eyes, before cocking it's head to the side. "woop woop?" the pokemon uttered, tilting it's head in the cutest way. mila wasted no time at all, she reached for the last safari ball in her possession and pressed a pokeball to it's face before it could run away.

what was that?

[break][break] faraway in the distance, almost immediately after mila had mentioned waiting for a masterpiece, a strange-looking creature appeared out of the icy mist. at first, mila thought it must have been a bagon or charmander, some other dragon-type pokemon. then, she thought, perhaps it was a wandering ducklett? it did have a beak after all.

[break][break] but no, the pokemon that appeared was not any of those things. it was... it was...

[break][break] "it's ugly," mila said, her nose scrunching up with a bit of disdain. whatever she was looking for, that was definitely not it, she thought, as she turned on her heel and headed in a different direction, the cold billowing around her. startled, her pokemon only stared after her. that was a little mean, even for mila.

[break][break] regardless, they eventually followed suit. mila was their trainer, after all.

with two new pokemon added to her team, mila was more than satisfied in her little adventure to the safari zone but she was also still waiting for her magical third friend. she by no means was fatigued, not even as she turned with a dazzling smile towards both her pokemon, pocketing the newly-caught trapinch in a satchel at her side.

[break][break] she pranced down the path happily, only pausing briefly as she allowed the bergmite waddle out in front of her, a few miles away. it was amongst a sea of other bergmite, and for a minute, mila was tempted to try to use her last pokeball on the pokemon. after all, it would make a lovely piece of furniture for the studio once it evolved.

[break][break] however, something in mila said that this was not the pokemon that she was destined to capture. she looked to vincenzo, who was fixing her with a questioning gaze. "i'll know it when i see it," she said, the very same thing she said whenever she was wracking her brains to try to create a new masterpiece.

[break][break] but mila wasn't concerned — she knew it would happen. she was an artist, after all.

Where skyler dross was positively lost, Mila Alexopoulos was perfectly at home. She flounced around the PRIMARINA DESIGNS STUDIO with ease, her short skirt flaring out behind her as she jumped between clients and her own personal projects. Though there were many things that Mila could do, the thing that she did the best with was fashion. Or at least thought so. She felt at home whenever she was at the studio, no matter tasks that she had lined up for her that day, no matter how many deadlines that she had to make and definitely no matter how much sleep she lost. [break][break] Luckily, it seemed that this day - much opposed to the day that she met angelo vestri she felt energized and exuberant, rather than lethargic and sleep-deprived. She smiled as a satisfied client waved back at her, offering her what she thought was a pleasantly kind tip, and ignored their suggestive comment about meeting her for a cup of tea around the block. She walked him through the glass door and watched until he got into his car and drove off.

[break][break] As she pocketed the cash, however, she noticed a flutter of golden hair that caught her eye. She turned, and there she was, a beautiful girl looking at one of Mila's personal line — a blue shellos-themed skirt, that she'd only been testing out, and that wasn't even on the rack yet. Well, officially.

[break][break] Mila Alexopoulos was good at many things, even perfect, and she had no weaknesses. Except one weakness. And that was pretty - no, beautiful girls.

[break][break] Hands twisted behind her back, she flounced over to the stranger and introduced herself. "Hi there! Don't think we've seen you here before, miss..." she trailed off, hopefully to give the woman a chance to introduce herself, and then fingered the skirt that the other seemed to be eying, maybe enough to brush their fingers lightly together. "This," she said, with emphasis, as she turned her gaze with a sparkle in her eye. "Would look perfect on you."

With Vinny fed, Mila was more than happy to continue her trek up the slope. Whether or not the alolan Ninetales was actually content was not on her mind — if he wanted to be huffy, he could be. She and Mickey were going to enjoy their nice trek up these warm mountains, and he could be left behind if he wanted to.

[break][break] Soon enough, as they are walking up the path, they are greeted by the sight of another. At first, it doesn't seem to be anything out of the unusual, as there are plenty of people who might have thought the same as Mila — that it was wonderful weather, albeit only slightly chillier due to the time of the year, and it would be a perfect time for a hike. Still, it is the first person that they have really met on their hike - passerby joggers hardly count - and Mila blinks at the sight of him. Then, she blinks again for extra measure — there is something about him —

[break][break] "Oh!" she gives a small gasp, then a dazzling smile. "You're sterling matthews right? From the paper?" What she doesn't say — what is suggested but not voiced - you're the Sterling Chase from the scandal, right? Mila is a professional, after all. She knows better than to burn bridges before she's even crossed them.

[break][break] Meanwhile, a Marill trotting down the path goes unnoticed by Mila and her team — - well, relatively. The Camerupt at her side gives a maybe too loud snort, sending the poor mouse scurrying away a little too quickly.

with their ride now incinerated, mila and her party were left to no choice but to walk. not that mila particularly minded -- she felt like she'd needed to stretch her legs a little bit anyways. stretching her arms about her head, she gave a yawn as she began walking down the icy path.

[break][break] "do you think we'll find anything cool? something cute?" she asked, probably to no one in particular. she was used to it, between the two of them. even if they haven't been restricted by the boundaries of poke-speech, she knew that their personalities wouldn't have allowed them to be talkative. well, at least not to her. she was sure that they would have plenty to say to each other.

[break][break] honestly, the two could squabble like children sometimes.

[break][break] mila was lucky that they were being civil now.

[break][break] as they walked along the path, a trapinch appeared. it's orange shell struck out from the icy landscape and mila was quick to spot it, pointing at it. "ooh! that looks cute," she said. as if on command, vincenzo released a blizzard to encase the pokemon in ice and when mila pranced over to pick it up, all she had to do was press it to the warmth of mickey's rocks to heat it up. as it melted in her hands, she pressed a pokeball to it to capture it. "perfect!" she said with a grin, as if she'd had anything at all to do with it's capture.
