The energy spreads across the room in a dazzling display of light, undoubtedly touching every other prisoner with that same dormant power.

[break][break] Drawn back by this destined strand, the admin's expression contorts into agony. Pain etches across his features and gradually, his limbs grow numb. The toxic chains constricting his body crumble into frost, frozen crystals cutting into his cheekbones.

[break][break] His eyes fade from deep cobalt into chilling blue.

[break][break] All the Pokemon are released from their prisons too, their toxic chains withering away to ash. Like the others, Jayden finds himself reuniting with them, but it's not them that matter. Even far across the room, as it's paws touch concrete, CHIEN PAO'S devastating influence is inevitable.

[break][break] Here, there is no MATIAS SILPH, no Ashley Shepard, no Chu-e Choi to stoke his hatred and draw it's power. No, that damned fern delaney's heroic efforts are too strong in this place, their loving influence too potent.

[break][break] It's deadly gaze snaps instead to the closest thing they can see. The WILL of a child screaming, begging, for another's to stay alive. AZELF.

[break][break] The cavernous pit rumbles with the effort of the violent smashing above. Something is coming. Something is coming. Something is coming.

[break][break] But there is no need for time, because Jayden has already seen her. Her cries split through the air cleanly, cutting straight through to him, and he can feel the HATRED and resentment of all his past memories unfold behind his eyes. It imbues him with sudden power, glimmering white frost in the palm of his hand. And before he knows what he is doing, he is aiming a beam of hateful FROST directly towards the back of Eris Halla' head.

The way jayden cross leapt at howard slayte, driven by a desire to destroy and ruin, could have easily poisoned him, just as CHIEN PAO once sank its fangs into his own flesh.

[break][break] whether it's by the WILL of his dreams, of the delusions that were only supported by the influence of THE COVETED in that floating megalopolis, or by the sudden hateful desire that floods him, jayden breaks free of the crowd. thorny toxic chains sink into his skin, draining his body of it's remaining energy, taking advantage of the deadly poison that floods his very person.

[break][break] the cursed springs away from the alchemist, allowing his icy hand to guide him towards another fold in space. slowly but steadily, he witnesses the gilded touch of palkia's chosen intertwining with mysterious red ore. it glitters like a crimson river, evoking strong memories of his father's blood-red gaze. yet, it's not the fractured timelines that drag him towards the looming danger. it's the sight of layered rock and vivid red, a fissured basin, the glimpse of something fearful and ominous behind a glimmering tree.

[break][break] immediately and without pause, jayden pivots. his heart pulses with sudden resolve, as he positions himself in front of the panel to shield it from view, and locks eyes with the alchemist several feet away.

[break][break] glimmering blue shine like teracrystals in his eyes as the fog clears to reveal the sight of megalopolan guards running towards him. one bellows, wielding its chain with intent to cleave heads in two. yet, an icy-white energy envelops jayden's chains and infuses him with it's toxic might. the admin breaks free from the crowd— suddenly, the azure-faced assailant stumbles, knees buckling beneath him, horror piercing his gaze as he collapses to the ground.

[break][break] his voice is his own, no longer shackled with the chaotic influence of a being greater than him. no, his vision is clear and his influence untethered.

TOXIC CHAIN ABILITY: temporal terror [break]
jayden's toxic chain ability traps foes in a timeloop of their worst nightmares. upon activation, foes become ensnared in recurring cycles of terror, immobilizing them with fear and hatred.

[break] seeing their brethren fall, several other megaloplans run after him. but jayden is determined. even in the darkness, he refuses to fall prey to the feeling of powerlessness that had weighed over him in the cell. that he'd felt for the majority of his life.

[break][break] he thinks about what dionysus had said to him in the dream, how every choice could lead to a potential future. how every action, no matter how small, was his own.

[break][break] he thought about how illeana reyes had raced through palkia's plane, stitching together the broken parts of their universe.

[break][break] he spots freya morningstar as their target, her dragonfire illuminating her against the darkened web of their shared prison. jayden channels his newfound power, aiming to carve her a path to her hateful future.

[break][break] white energy ripples around his body, wielded by the toxic might of his chain, before blasting out. curdling screams echo through the air as several guards crumple to the ground at the strength of jayden's might, the power of his hateful will.

[break][break] the addiction of the dreamworld is too sweet — it grants him strength and power he has always sought, but never enough. he enters again and again, meeting those like THEO BECKETT or Grigori Sokolov or howard slayte. each time, he is pulled towards something greater, like tracks in the sand. the nauseous blink of the city lights guide him towards the burning vestige of PENELOPE LIVY.

[break][break] in the waking world, they could not be farther apart. yet in this haven, the elements of greed and spite pull at them, puppet strings pulling them taut. here, in this false utopia, they are the same.

[break][break] yet with each passing day, his mind begins to spool and unravel, fraying at the seams. his mind fractures like a spring well, threatening to shatter. each additional thread reminds him of those hours spent in PALKIA'S realm and so he begins to seek her desperately too. the holder of his fate, the alchemist of space herself. illeana reyes.

[break][break] but he doesn't find her. each time he thinks he catches a glimpse of silvery white, he is pulled — dragged into the waking world — to suffer.

[break][break] and while jayden cross and suffering go hand-in-hand, nothing readies him for the agony of being compelled to laugh at fern delaney's expense. the mockery wrenched from him slices his throat like diamonds, flooding his mouth with blood.

[break][break] it's all the more heart-wrenching when he wakes from each dream, chains coiled around his neck, tears streaming from his eyes and pooling in his hands like glittering stars.

[break][break] bringing his palms to his mouth reverantly, he attempts to breathe them in, as if it's liquid essence will be enough to remind him of all that he cannot have. of all that remains so bitterly out of reach.
