He watches the vial fill up with blood, almost a little too intensely. It would have been morbid, had it not been for the fact that it was Jayden.

Despite the fact that they were friends, or for that matter in-laws, there was still the risidual nature of his upbringing to take into consideration. It was difficult for him to relax around anyone. Even with people like Tempest Quinn and mint, who were generally laid-back about personal space and had no issues displaying physical affection with him, he still felt the urge to push back.
