The Illumina pokemon is easily lulled to sleep. It’s rather cute slumbering and Lex admires the adorable little ghost, giving it an extra little scratch under the chin as it sleeps. Not very professional, but she doesn’t give two shits.

Regardless, they get the job done. Mostly, Mars does. Lex plays along and does what she is told to help, too nervous to mess any of it up. When Mar exclaims they are finished, she sighs in relief, “Alright, that went well I guess,” an unfamiliar smile lights up her otherwise col complexion, “High five!” she promptly gives the Underboss a high five.

“Pleasure uhhh doing science with you?” the statement sounds funny as soon as she utters it. Lex had never been a fan of science. Maybe she was missing out on something.

Naaahhh. She’d stick to her skillset.

“Catch ya later then, Mars,” with a little salute she disappears in a flash of light, the Shadow Gardevoir grabbing her form the darkness to TELEPORT her home.

The explosion catches her off guard, unexpected and difficult to dodge, regardless. The reverberation shakes her other core, ears ringing and the pressure throwing her forward. Air is forced out of her lungs for a second time when she hits the ground, rolling to a stop once the momentum wears off. That one hurt worse than Guillermo Marceliño’s suplex. Damn.

No time to waste, she’s a sitting Duckling on the ground. A primal drive for survival kicks another rush of adrenaline to numb the pain, forcing her to her feet with a narrowed gaze fixed on the culprit.

The ghost’s pursuit of his soul is cut short by the dizzying haze of SPRINGTIDE STORM that rushes around her. The ghosts full form rises from the darkness and into the fae storm. Within an energy fueled of hate and love, the dark creature remains stoic, lifeless. It knows little of emotions, but it does know hunger.

The Shadow pokemon shifts its target. The bear-like pokemon poses a rather intriguing challenge. It’s darkness calls to her, a threat.

The creature’s bony arms raise amongst the storm, turning the tide of the fae energy to harness it and blast towards the Urshifu with a DAZZLING GLEAM.

Hot off the exhilarating battle with Guillermo Marceliño, Lex has set her sights on bigger fish. Oh look, is that an Elite Four member locking eyes with her?

Accepted, motherfucker.

There had been enough PRECIPICE BLADES in the vicinity for Lex to become familiar with the shift in the ground beneath her to not assume that is what was coming her way. Nimble on her feet, she runs towards Matias, barely missing to piercing rocky blade that erupts from the ground.

Her amber eyes are wild with the heat of battle. In a natural motion, the Shadow Gardevoir’s Ultra Ball finds its why into her clenched fist. The cracks open, light replaced by darkness. The miasma bleeds into the ground, a shadow racing beside her. Lex stops just shy of an appropriate battlefield. Her shadow continues racing forward across the marred ground.

There’s no warning, just the subtle whisper of a cool breeze across Matias’s ankles when the shadow settles there. A demon emerges from the darkness. The fingers that try to grab at his legs are more like claws, tearing at flesh as if its desperately trying to pull itself free of the abyss it’s trapped in. The glow of crimson eyes burns through the darkness and as the beast’s lips part to unleash a piercing shriek from behind rotting fangs.

The ghost is no longer pulling itself free, but try to drag Matias down into its darkness, each attempt like a set of thorns, trying to latch on and drag across his calves.

Sacred Sword is a success, and the data that spills out is surprising. Lex had never seen a Porygon 'bleed' and although it wasn't blood, she found it more disturbing. Perhaps it was the fact that it was a sentient machine. Strange.

TELEKINESIS takes hold of the ghost's own ability to control its levitation. It's a strange feeling. For a pokemon use to levitation, not having control over it is rather confusing. There had to be an ulterior motive. Whatever trick the Proygon had up its sleeve, Aegislash would be prepared for. Instead of taking the chance to land another blow, the pokemon's STANCE SHIFTS in preparation. The sword disappears behind a broad shield, ready for whatever the PorygonZ had in store.

Lex’s fist finds nothing but air. The desire to feel that punch connect flares into frustration, and in that moment of distraction, Memo makes his move. Suddenly, the air in her lungs is gone, one large exhale secondary to the shoulder wedged into her gut. A sudden wave of nausea hits her but nothing comes up. The ground slams into her back, threatening to expel what little air is left in her lungs. An involuntary gasp expands her chest and in a moment of panic, all she can think to do is ram her boots forward, looking to connect with an ankle, a knee, a shin, anything that might hurt and give her a moment to recover.

Whether Lex’s own strike hits or not, the Zoraork is relentless in its pursuits. With a Banette struggling with consciousness, it turns its hungry gaze on Memo. Before it can advance too far, the earth below them violently cracks open, tearing fissures through the ground and Lex if forced to roll away from Memo as one separates them. She forced herself back to her feet, glaring through the dusty air at Memo with a fury unmatched by many.

A howl of surprise draws her attention to the Zoroark, “Nova!” she gasps, scrambling to retrieve the ghost’s pokeball before the fissure has a chance to swallow her whole. A beam of light catches the pokemon while it scrambles, clawing for its life to stay above the ground.

It seems there are bigger fish to fry. The Beasts gaze narrows, peering across the battlefield at the titan that rises above the tree line. Groudon. Her next target has been set and without a second glance she leaves Memo to collect himself, and disappears into the shadows

Work-life balance didn’t seem to exist in Rocket, that’s for sure. The thief turns the corner of her lips into a smile, “Sounds like we both have some self-exploration to do,” Lex typically found most of the Rocket’s to be unbearable to spend time with, but Kepler was growing on her. Slowly. Like a creeping moss. Even for being a scientist, which she didn’t trust, she wasn’t completely turned off by his presence.

“Maybe we should try something new,” she comments softly as she send the Joltik after the Haunter. A zap later, and a pokeball is quickly following it, “I have no idea what that would be though,” it’s not lke she got much free time from her Beast duties, and Kepler likely got even less working in the lab. Their Head Scientists were ruthless when it came to working hours . . . or at least that’s what she heard. Again, Lex avoided the labs at all costs.

Lex cast Theo a passing glance as she turns her attention to the Phantump, “Yes, we must,” Lex refers to all of the above – League and Rocket’s own Avatars. They’re not all powerful nor are they completely controllable – they need to figure out a way to blunt their powers for all of their sakes. If Rocket’s deities choose to get unruly, there need to be measures in place to control them.

The Gardevoir reaches out a clawed hands to lull the Phantump to sleep with HYPNOSIS. Lex follows with a pokeball to collect the slumbering ghost.

“Have you encountered many avatars?” Lex asks curiously. If anyone had a strategy to disable them, she would put her money on Theo.

The Spectreir is quite the sight to see. It truly is a beautiful creature; a blessing Lex often takes for granted. There aren’t many in the region but there are certainly more than her own.

“Yes, they’re quite beautiful. And powerful,” she adds, after the display of aggression towards the Banette. Lex retrieves the pokeball and give the equine a pat on the rump, “I found them here on Mt. Pyre, actually,” With Killian Decker, though Killian’s has since disappeared.

Lex smiles as the ghost pursues the sentient sand playing near a gravestone. War stabs it with another PSYCHO CUT and lex follows with another pokeball, “That’s putting it lightly,” she scoffs, agreeing with Dione’s sentiment. If it wasn’t for her Shadow Gardevoir, she’d have a much harder time keeping her little ghost army in line, “But they are amazing,” she whispers, tucking the Banette’s pokeball away and moving to retrieve the Sandygast’s.

Memo seems anxious to accept her advances. Finally, a Leaguer she can find some shard of respect for. Her dark red lips curl up into a wild smile, shoulders tensing to raise her arms in defense. His reach is just short of her throat as she subtly leans back. One hand raises to deflect the attacking arm while the other curls back strike forward with a RIGHT HOOK. She didn’t grow up fighting, like Memo. She quite literally learned by being thrown into a room and forced to fight for her life. She fights dirty and messy. There’s no discipline and plenty of mistakes.

Meanwhile, the sky parts and a CRACK of THUNDER rains down. Electricity courses through the ghost’s body. Every muscle painfully seizes uncontrollably, a sharp aching sensation rippling through the Zoroark that opens her throat to let out a painful, bone-chilling shriek of pain. It takes a moment for the wolf to recover, likely enough time for the Banette to slip away from beneath her.

Rage blinds the ghost. Every sensation of pain coalesces into a need for revenges. A sinister power pours fuel into engine. It builds and builds until she is literally exploding with hatred and violent intent. The fur across her legs splits and cracks, fresh wounds opening along the fault lines of those before them. Fresh, marred flesh peeks out. And suddenly, the pokemon snaps, opening her maw to scream. The full force of BITTER MALICE follows, aiming to engulf the Banette.

The sudden shriek and cacophony of metal clattering against the tile floor is enough to make Lex jump back a bit. She anticipates another, more violent, bit of retaliation from the dragon but it doesn’t come. Lex grunts, frowning as she regains her posture and glares over towards Mars. The smallest hint of a smile twitches at the edge of her lips, “Close one,” she jokes, waving her hand in the air for her shadowed companion to join them on this plane.

“I know what you mean,” she wasn’t expecting to put the beast down just for that little outburst. It seemed to rare to consider such drastic measures. The thief calls forth a ghost from the phantom plane. A subtle chill dissipates through the air as black mist curls around her feet. A pale hand with long, grotesque fingers reaches out and curls over her shoulder. The rest of the abomination follows. The undead Gardevoir is typically an unnerving sight to see for those that aren’t use to its presence.

Melinoe settles behind Lex, floating just high enough for her crimson eyes to peer over her master’s shoulder at the other ghost, “Hypnosis,” she whispers to the Shadow Pokemon. Crimson fades to pale pink as Melinoe fixates on her target. It’s a subtle push at the Dragapult’s consciousness at first, but it blooms into an overwhelming pressure as the pull power of HYPNOSIS attempts to put it to sleep.
