EXPOSION




A name once whispered among the ranks of Team Rocket, the M.A.G.M.A division has been born from a repurposing of one of the syndicate’s most secret projects. Now referred to as MANIPULATION OF ANOMALIES FOR GENERAL AND MILITARY APPLICATION, this division exists with the purpose of RESEARCHING AND DEVELOPING POKÉMON ENHANCEMENTS, as well as TRAINING Team Rocket members to make use of unusual Pokémon as the weapons they are meant to be. After all, all Pokémon exist for the glory of Team Rocket.

The M.A.G.M.A Division is currently led by underbosses , , , and head scientist , with the continued collaboration of M.A.G.M.A's former director .


TO PARTICIPATE


ALL TEAM ROCKET MEMBERS ARE WELCOME and encouraged to participate in M.A.G.M.A division activities, REGARDLESS OF RANK. Each M.A.G.M.A sector has provided a list of TASKS available for Team Rocket members to complete, divided into tiers based on their difficulty and degree of technicality.

  • EVERYONE STARTS AT THE SAME LEVEL, regardless of IC rank or infamy. This means that at first you can only complete TIER 1 tasks.
  • Completing tasks earns you MAGMA MERITS (🝪). Reaching a certain amount of merits will grant access to higher tier tasks.
  • In order to complete a task, SUBMIT A COMPLETED THREAD (mission or social) where the task is the main theme. Each thread must have at least five post per participating character.
  • Each character can submit ONE THREAD EVERY WEEK (resets on Sunday at midnight - Saturday 11:59PM your time). Others can be completed within the same week, but won't earn merits. Each thread only counts for ONE TASK and it ideally must have been completed during the week of submission.
  • THREADS ARE COUNTED FOR MERITS BASED ON THEIR WEEK OF SUBMISSION.
  • Submitted threads must have been CREATED AFTER JULY 26TH, 2022.
  • ALL TASKS ARE REPEATABLE.

Other special events with high merit rewards may be hosted by M.A.G.M.A leadership on occasion, sign-ups will be open to participate in these and they may have requirements of their own.

OVERVIEW


The RESEARCH SECTOR of Rocket's M.A.G.M.A DIVISION focuses on the acquisition and study of Hoenn's various ANOMALIES such as Avatars, Shadow Pokémon, the Pokérus virus, mega evolution, z-moves, and more. If it's a strange and unusual phenomenon, Rocket intends to study its effects and their potential applications FOR THE GLORY OF TEAM ROCKET.

This division works heavily with Rocket's scientists, with acting as a bridge between the subdivision and Rocket's core. has acquired laboratory space in Sootopolis. All members of M.A.G.M.A are welcome to use the space, with their varying tiers restricting certain parts of the building.


TIER I

  • GATHER. A particular phenomenon has caught the interest of M.A.G.M.A. Acquire an actionable sample of this phenomenon for later study.
  • STUDY. In situations where it could prove too difficult to bring phenomenon to M.A.G.M.A directly, go out into the field and study it in the flesh. Take what notes you can before reporting back.


TIER II

  • GATHER II Certain phenomenon, such as legendary Pokemon and Ultra Beasts, may prove much harder to obtain samples from. Prove your worth to the division by obtaining these rare jewels. (Note: each unique instance of a legendary/UB can be used for only one sample, to prevent abuse of this task. These can be Pokémon owned by M.A.G.M.A personnel or outsiders, so long as consent was given OOC for the acquisition.)
  • RESEARCH. With the inclusion of any Rocket scientist (this can be a M.A.G.M.A member who is also a scientist, or a non-M.A.G.M.A scientist), run tests on phenomenon acquired in TIER I missions. (If this is a Pokémon or object owned by another character, either include them in the thread or obtain their permission first!)
  • INNOVATE. Using a Passho berry, develop a custom z-move for one of your Pokémon and thread its use with another member of M.A.G.M.A.


TIER III

  • GATHER III. Perhaps most dangerous of all is the acquisition of samples during dangerous events in Hoenn history (ie, Raids). M.A.G.M.A would be very interested in studying these anomalies. Participate in a site event and bring back some kind of trophy for study.
  • REFINE. Once enough information is gathered through the research process, attempt to refine that process for ease of replication. This must include a M.A.G.M.A or Rocket scientist.
  • REPRODUCE. Attempt to duplicate phenomenon with the aid of our scientists. (Note: unless otherwise stated or accessible due to events like the Hatchery, this will result in failure IC, but you'll still get merits for trying!)


SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT

  • EXPLORE. Join an expedition team and venture into the Wilds to collect data for Team Rocket and the M.A.G.M.A Division. This can be in the form of samples, footage, or even firsthand accounts of events. A completed Wilds expedition will grant 15🝪 to all participants.

OVERVIEW


The TRAINING SECTOR of M.A.G.M.A focuses primarily on the utilization of Hoenn's anomalous entities for the betterment of Rocket's soldiers, whether this is educating grunts on the proper handling of dangerous Pokémon or pitting them up against Rocket's own avatars to better prepare them for a clash with the League.

High-tech training facilities below Casino Starlight (owned by and ) are available for those who wish to utilize them.


TIER I

  • CONTROL I. Mega evolution and Z-moves are anomalies in Hoenn that all should come to understand eventually. Demonstrate your capabilities alongside a partner or supervisor. If you do not yet have access to Pokémon with these capabilities, recieve instruction and training from someone who does!
  • BATTLE I. Earn a gym badge or, for those who don't wish to take on the gym challenge, defeat a gym leader in a raid-style format. Alternatively, challenge a fellow Rocket with an infamy of 50+.


TIER II

  • CONTROL II. Ordinary Pokémon are one thing; handling shadow Pokémon or Ultra Beasts is quite another. If you don't have access to these Pokémon, feel free to include a partner who does!
  • MENTOR I. M.A.G.M.A agents must work together to build the division's strengths. Have your Tier II agent mentor someone in a lower tier to inspire their own growth! (This will grant 15🝪 to all involved; lower tiers may only receive this bonus once per tier.)
  • BATTLE II. Defeat a member of the Elite Four in an official match or in a raid-style situation. Alternatively, challenge one of Rocket's Beasts or a Rocket with an infamy of 100+.


TIER III

  • CONTROL III. The ultimate test of one's skills is handling a creature of legendary caliber. Together with either a partner or a supervisor, prove your ability to tame a legendary/mythical beast. (Note: This does not necessitate a bond such as Avatarship; legendaries such as Zarude, Zeraora, Heatran, etc, will count.)
  • MENTOR II. M.A.G.M.A agents must work together to build the division's strengths. Have your Tier III agent mentor someone in a lower tier to inspire their own growth! (This will grant 20🝪 to all involved; lower tiers may only receive this bonus once per tier.)
  • BATTLE III. Using data collected from various historical occurrences (Three-Day War, Darkest Day, etc) and simulation software, survive a typical day in Hoenn catastrophic event! (Note: This will be a small event moderated by M.A.G.M.A's leadership; as such, somewhat larger groups are encouraged!)
