It’s rare to run into a business in Slateport that doesn’t bow to the Rocket forces. Some have slipped between the rugged cracks, hiding desperately in the shadows. They stay low, keep their business close to their chest, and only trust a rare few. There’s always a set of loose lips somewhere, especially when they feel ostracized and forgotten.

Information slips between drunken lips and Killian Decker’s web of spies snatch it up like gold, delivering it to their puppet master for evaluation. Back down the ladder it goes – but not too far. It stops at The Beast. There happens to be a sensitive piece of information that Rocket wants hidden away in the black market gang’s headquarters. The opportunity to teach a lesson doesn’t come around as often anymore. They want an example, and they want the information.

So, naturally, Lex recruited the best she could find to help her with the task: parker jones. She’s been briefed. Hold little back, get the money, keep a few obedient ones untouched, steal the information.

“I hear this is your sort of thing,” she comments casually, “Do you have a preferred method?”

“I’ll always be here,” she promised, reaching up to give him a light peck on his cheek. Together, they watched the show from above, each second ticking closer to their grand entrance.

She couldn’t believe she actually fucking agreed to this.

If the alien wanted to kill her and take Killian all for itself, now would be an excellent time. She didn’t trust the thing, but she trusted Killian.

With a deep breath, she bit her bottom lip, the sharp sting of pain already spiking the adrenaline that came with her pounding heart. Then, they jumped.

It did feel surreal, free falling in his arms. Lex couldn’t bare to look, so she didn’t Her eyes squeezed shut and her face pressed snuggly against his chest so a scream couldn’t be heard. It almost took too long for the alien to awaken, but suddenly she found her feet on solid ground and she was still holding Killian tight.

When her eyes peeled open, she saw a cheering crowd and it occurred to her she needed to give him some room, back away. So, she smiled and gave a gentle wave while Killian greeted his new patrons. Her fingers plucked away at her hair, hoping she used enough hairspray to keep it decent looking after a fall like that. She’d have to bee line it for the bathroom to make sure, but not before grabbing her own set of chips.

Fiancés didn’t get extra, unfortunately.

This isn’t her usual appointment, but Rocket’s been stretched thin lately and the Beasts have been called to handle a more diverse array of odd jobs across the organization. It’s not that Rocket itself was struggling, far from it. Rocket was thriving. With that came opportunity.

That’s how Lex found herself back in Slateport, out on the Outskirts of the city. She’s not too far from virgil roach’s bar, and she certainly plans on paying her business associate a visit once she’s wrapped up here. Tonight, Lex found herself overseeing an illegal shipment of goods into the region. It was smuggled aboard one of the many crafts that use Slateport Harbor as a stop along their long routes between regions. This particular shipment is quite valuable: A collection of Megastones meant for Rocket use only.

It was hidden amongst a legal shipment of pokemon – which is conveniently coming with her as well. You snooze you lose.

Many things about this made Lex uncomfortable. First, she didn’t plan this. She was simply given directions she couldn’t say no to. Secondly, she’d never met the Captain of the ship. He seemed sleezy, and didn’t give her good vibes. He smelled like a rat.

Melinoe, the Shadow Gardevoir, seemed to agree. Lex could feel the ghost’s cold vibrations all around her. The irritation sprouting from the normally apathetic pokemon made the Thief irritable as well.

It would have all been much easier if she could just TELEPORT the goods back to Rocket’s HQ. Instead, she was directly ordered not to, in fear of the energy damaging the Megastones in transport.

With the briefcase clipped securely to her wrist, concealing by the long arms of the leather jacket, she walked along the shadowed path between the Abandoned Warehouses, back towards where she's meant to meet her Braviary for departure.

Make It Double Mission(?)

If only his jesting wasn’t actually seeded in fact. As June scurried off into a shadowed area under the trees, Lex glanced back at Kepler with an amused grin, “I have been known to make some . . . potent brownies,” it’s likely rumors of the Admins gorging on some of her weed brownies had made it his way . . . or perhaps not. He seemed like the homebody type that didn’t get out much.

June quickly emerged, dragging a filled pokeball with the Mismagius in her little web. She stopped at Lex’s feet, carefully picking the sticky substance off the pokeball so her trainer should retrieve it, “Thanks,” she Beast muttered to the arachnid, patting her small head before she stood up to tuck the pokeball away.

A poor Tympole seemed to have been caught in the Joltik’s web. Bycatch. Lex had no interest in the water-type. Their evolutions were much too bulky and slow for her.

Quantum physicist? As if just being a physicist wasn’t impressive enough. Lex know absolutely nothing on the subject, even what made a Quantum Physicist different form just a regular Physicist. This is Lulu Flint and Killian Decker territory. To avoid embarrassment, she changes the subject entirely. Well . . . she would if she wasn’t hungry for information.

“And what does Rocket need with a Quantum Physicist?” the assumption he is part of the organization doesn’t require a big leap considering he knows of her rank within the organization.

Very good question, indeed. Lex glanced over towards Nina and shrugged her should as a response to the question. Lex doesn’t have any more answers than Nina does – perhaps a few good guesses, but nothing concrete. Lex isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Unfortunately, she didn’t place as much emphasis on reading and learning like Killian Decker. He had the brains of the family.

Lex relied more on instinct. Sometimes, it didn’t work out well. Other times, she thrived. She doesn’t always listen to instinct. Like right now, she tells herself to pull the Shadow Gardevoir out of the Phantom Plane to take care of this pest, but Morganan needed the practice. Even if that meant defeat for them.

Fortunately, Nina’s Vulpix was proving to be a formidable opponent. A the CONFUSE RAY danced around the Mega Banette, the ice type rushed forward with an ICY WIND. Freezing gusts spun around the ghost, dissipating the ray, but not before the opponent was thoroughly CONFUSED.

The pokemon hissed, swatting at the air before it. It’s seeing double, no, quadruple of the Vulpix and Misdreavous. It choose a target, stretches out its shadow, and strikes with SHADOW SNEAK at one of the many Vulpix in its path.

It’s been a long time in the making, almost a year now, since this idea sprouted from his brilliant mind. As with everything Killian did, the dream never died. She will admit, she was hesitant. Not because she doubted his persistence, but simply because of what Casinos meant to her and her past. Now, they had a whole new meaning.

The cool night air nipped at her bare skin, goosebumps rising across her arms. She stepped closer to him for warmth and slid an arm between his. Her hand curled up to rest gently on his shoulder. Her engagement ring caught a flash of a passing spotlight, glistening brilliantly against the dark fabric of his suit.

“And it will be,” she ensured him with a soft smile.

She doesn’t want a ride? Alright, she’ll cover her instead. With a press of her heels, the stallion spins around, to glance back at the pack of Zoroark assaulting Summer’s Emboar.

“Phantom Force,” War snorts, leaping into the phantom plane in a mist of smoke with Lex on his back. Together, they break through on the other side beside the Emboar. Ethereal energy strikes out at the Zoroark in the form of his phantom hooves, crushing bone and slicing through ivory fur.

The sharp howls of wolves fill the night. Some in pain, some in anger. Teeth sink into the equine’s rump, causing War to rear up in pain, nearly throwing Lex off. Her finger entwine in the ghostly mane, keeping her steady as she turns the strike the pokemon right in the face with the heel of her boot, “GO!” she snaps at the Emboar, encouraging it to follow its trainer while the Zoroark recover from War’s assault.

Summer Atreides

Not every pokemon a Beast trained had been perfected. This was supposed to be a simple mission, fit for a pokemon that needed the training. Tough love, right?

After hitting the floor to let the Will-O-Wisp sail over her head, the Beast slowly crawls back up to face the Misdrevous with an icy glare. The ghost cowers beneath the threatening gaze, tapping her little hands together in contemplation. The air beside her ripples with the dark presence of the Shadow Pokemon that constantly haunted her shadow.

It’s enough to kick the young ghost’s butt in gear.

Morgana dashes past Lex, joining the Vulpix to face the Mega Banette.

“It’s a Mega Banette,” Lex scowls, fists clenching at her side, “I’ve ran into one before,” She has a Banette, and currently seeks a mega stone for it. Curious that this one is able to Mega Evolve without a trainer. Perhaps it’s the high concentration of Infinity Energy in the area thanks to the Tree of Life.

A piercing HOWL stops the Mega Banette in its tracks, giving Morgana the opportunity to strike with a CONFUSE RAY. The mystical colors dance around the Bannete. It hisses in frustration, swatting at the multicolored aurora as it staggers back.

Slowly, the anticipation built. Every touch of his fingertips burned like fire that spread readily across her body. It pooled in her chest, amplified by the warning sirens blaring in the back of her mind. Danger. He’s dangerous, it’s dangerous. This isn’t right.

But it felt so right.

“Wha?!” she gasped, sitting up slightly when he literally tore the clothes right off of her. There was no pressure, no struggle, the fabric gave away like paper.

The cool breeze from the air conditioning ran over her bare legs, lifting goosebumps to the surface as she stared in both awe and concern. The fire quickly returned, reaching forward to pull him closer. The sense of danger sent her heart racing more than usual. Tonight they played with fire, but she’d have her king until she couldn’t, completely lost in him and their longing.

He promised, and she trusted him, “Alright,” she conceded.

Killian moved to the floor, kneeling before her. She smiled, looking down at him with admiration. It had been too long since they had spent any amount of time together. Lex had been constantly plagued by worry and now everything felt so . . . normal. She prayed it lasted.

“Like this?” she laid back on the cough, gaze fixated on the tall ceiling of the living room. A grin creased her lips as she too relished in the feel of his touch on her thighs. Her hips shifted slightly in anticipation as the sensation moved up. It’s involuntary, more like a reflex, “You’re not gonna do something kinky, are you?” Cause she might be into it.
