Lex glances over to Jayden with genuine curiosity. She was expecting him to see it through – all the way through. Even after the boost from the Moonlight, Fira could have probably gotten a few good licks in on the Clefable. Perhaps he was one of those kinds of trainers that didn’t like to push them too hard. Then how do you discover their limits?

Regardless, Lex takes the win with a shrug. The pokeball sucks the Clefable back in with a similar flash of light. It’s not long that a light laugh escapes her, “Honestly, I have no idea the Clefable was that savage. It wasn’t expecting it,” no tips, it surprised her as much as Jayden, no doubt. She wants to find Killian Decker before her next match so she’s eager to leave. Lex gives Jayden a nod, “Rematch sometime?” she smiles, leaving before he can answer. She assumes he would accept.

They’re being attacked on multiple fronts - that’s what you get when you put them together, I guess. It’s a new strategy she’s trying. Still too early to teel if it will pay off. Lex frowns, she can barely see anything through this damned SANDSTORM.

Keeping them together meant two sets of eyes. While the Gliscor attacked from behind, the Tyranitar attacks from below. A shimmering PROTECT flashes just before the Gliscor strikes with SKY UPPERCUT. Happiny giggles happily.

Menhit doesn’t have Protect to guard herself from the Dark Pulse. It’s an ominous shadows and pierces through the SANDSOTRM. Much like before, she angles herself to protect the baby pokemon and takes the Dark Pulse to the chest. It pushes them back yet again but the Safeguard and Friend Guard buffer some of the blow. Baby COPIES the Tyranitar’s DARK PULSE and sending it right back at the Gliscor.

Another AGILITY pushes them forward, making it even harder to catch up with the Aerodactyl.

The powered up HEAT WAVE scorches her pink fur. The leftover AROMATHERAPY helps dull the burn but it strikes, and strikes hard, nonetheless. She’s forced back, her lungs burning for air but all they find is a searing heat. Her resilience is surprising. Another hand stretches up towards the sky. This time the moon sparkles bright. A strange energy floats down, flowing through her and healing her wounds. A devilish grin crosses her features. How’s the Torkoal’s endurance? She can go all night.

The only one in the group she recognizes is Zac Ramsay, and that’s only because his face was plastered all over all kinds of things at this tournament. It’s to not recognize the avatar. The other two were strangers, which is fine. She preferred it that way – made it easier beat the hell out of them, “Nice to meet you all,” she purposefully “forgets” to give her name. She doesn’t remember what was written down on the entry form. Penny perhaps? Probably Penny.

Before they can question it she lets the flash of light distract them. It morphs into a large, ethereal dragon. The Dragapult floats expectantly in front of Lex, eyeing the opponents with an eagerness that manifests in the Dreepy playfully running across its flat head before settling into their designated launches, “Get ready,” she warns, a command for the Dragapult to psych itself up with an AGILITY.

This Torkoal is really starting to piss this particularly violent Clefable off. Eruption pours form it’s shell and an AROMATHERAPY pours from the fairy pokemon’s palms, combating the scorching heat that threatens to burn her little bugs alive. Perhaps some of them would survive with the help of the healing mist.

Concentrated on helping her little gremlins, she doesn’t have the speed to dodge the Headbutt. It takes her breath way, striking her right in the chest and pushing her back. AROMATHERAPY dissipates. A sharp breath returns the hot air to her lungs. She pushes herself to her feet and raises a hand. Fae energy gathers above before the MOONBLAST fire down at the Torkoal from above.

Strength can be built, bought, and found. It just takes patience and dedication. There’s no reason to think they couldn’t conquer it together. Each has experienced their strength, but it also gave them insights to their weaknesses in a way others wouldn’t be able to spot. That in itself gave them an edge.

She’s not wrong, and she takes offense that he says so with such confidence. The ticking numbers keep her from saying anything else. There’s just not enough time to get into it. Lex opts for simplicity, agreeing with him instead, “Then Deoxys you shall have,” she’d deliver him the sun if he asked. She slips her fingers out from between his as the numbers strike fifteen and the elevator doors open.

Lex knows the Gardevoir is watching, so she calls it back to her through a hand signal towards the camera before stepping out into the hallway. A guard down the hall turns towards them with a smile. He’s not suspicious considering they are dresses appropriately. Regardless, a hand extends out towards him. Smoke’s shadow rushes forward and the pink pulse of HYPNOSIS overwhelms him, “Alright, where is it?”

A sharp, high-pithed screech pierces the beach as the Infernape lunges forward with its own battle cry and the promise of an exciting battle. The Blazkien pushes off strong legs, kicking up his own cloud of sand as he too lunges forward. Each long steps close the distance. And each stride burns the flames across him brighter until they seem to consume him. The Mach Punch comes quick and strike across him, but it does little to impede the momentum of his FLAME CHARGE.

A large, red eye peers through the shadows. She waits, patiently, for the psychic type to drop off the small package in question. Stuff in a trashcan won’t be a hindrance. Dusknoir melts from the shadows, appearing beside the receptacle. A large hand FRISKS the container, easily finding what she is looking for.

It’s a quickly flight to the next pick-up point. There were specific instructions to wait for the final courier and them FRISK it from her. So she waits, in the dark, with the package.

Lex smiles, proud of the Gengar for doing what it takes to win the race. Smoke crosses the finish line with a proud smile, victorious, “Like I said, can’t keep up,” she grins, turning her gaze from King and back to Smoke as she walks forward to collect her pokemon and her victory.
