Lex couldn’t help but laugh lightly, his flattery making a blush rise into her cheeks yet again. But it was true, as long as she had Killian, that was all that mattered to her.

She followed Killian’s gaze to the Eevee that surrounded them. They had finally fell asleep. Did Lex want to risk waking them up? For a moment, she seriously considered rescinding her offer. But . . .

“Hmm,” she contemplated. Very, very carefully she started to move the Eevee off of her lap and into their own cuddle-pile on the living room carpet. When she was satisfied they were comfortable and asleep she looked towards Killian, “Sounds like a fun challenge,” her voice was quiet and careful, not wanting to disturb the sleeping kittens. She crawled towards Killian, with the same salacious grin, to plant a gentle kiss onto his lips.

Killian Decker

He pulled her close, the warmth of his palm was replaced by the fabric of his shirt as she leaned against his chest. A tight, protective embrace reminded her she wasn’t alone, and she wouldn’t have to be. A bold promise, but Killian had already made it clear by staying in Hoenn that he had accepted her burdens as his own. It was a dark time without him. Even with a storm on the horizon she finally felt that she could see past it as long as she had him. Her king, her everything.

“You don’t need to apologize, Killian,” her head pulled back from his chest to look into his blue eyes. She knew he’d be upset with himself, that’s just the kind of man Killian was. He promised not to dig, and he didn’t. There was nothing wrong with respecting her boundaries, “Kaito’s sick game with my family started long before you came around and it likely wasn’t going to stop just because you fell in love with me,” that wasn’t the kind of man Kaito was. He didn’t just relinquish his power over something because someone asked nicely.

“I’m not as fragile as I use to be,” There was no doubting that her year spent evading his attempts and her ultimate journey to Hoenn had made her grow. There wasn’t really a choice in the matter, “So I’m not running this time, I promise. We’ll take that bastard out – together,” there was a defiance in her eyes that emphasized her resolve to fight, not flee. Her anger with Killian for hiding Kaito’s calls had dissipated, for now.

Killian’s mind seemed made up. Well, at least more than hers anyway, “Hmph,” she grunted as she studied him carefully after his response. It was clear she was still thinking, perhaps reconsidering her indecisive answer. The thought of a little them running around did bring a small smile. It seemed like the ultimate adventure, and there was no one else she would want to go on that adventure with than Killian.

A small, innocent squeak of a yawn drew her attention back to her lap as the smallest of the kittens spun upside down, nuzzling itself against her stomach. The other two had already started drifting off to sleep, one cuddle against the other. Damn it, the were adorable.

“Well, if our life ever got . . . normal-ish,” Their life would never be ‘normal’, especially now that they were both pretty involved with Rocket. But who wanted normal? Normal was boring, “I would consider it,” a slow smile crept across her lips before it turned salacious when she looked back over at Killian, “Until then . . . I do enjoy practicing,” Leave it to Lex to turn a serious conversation back to her favorite topic.

Killian Decker

A reluctant Loveless lowered the kitten to the ground but the release of their siblings didn’t do much to calm them down. Lex ha gathered three kittens into her lap, “It’s ok” she cooed, “Shh, sh, shhh,” she even tried enticing them with her hair again, tickling their little faces. The uninterested babies swatted the strand away in annoyance, “Fine,” she huffed, tossing her long hair behind her shoulders.

Valentine was a welcome sight. The incessant crying was already starting to try her patience. The Sylveon’s ribbons seemed to bring a sense of familiar comfort. The kittens in her lap stopped squirming and their cries faded back into soft mews at their siblings. Lex smiled and laughed lightly at the two that started wrestling.

Killian’s question came as a surprise, “Like . . . kid, kids?” she repeated, the surprise in her eyes faded as she contemplated the question. Obviously, she knew what he meant, “Well, I – Hmph,“ her brows pinched, “I have never really thought about it, honestly,” she admitted with a small shrug of her shoulders. Lex didn’t really see herself as a mom-type, probably because she was still young and stupid, “I guess . . . no? I don’t think our lifestyle is suited for a kid,” Especially with Kaito still breathing down their necks. So, that’s a hard hell no, “If we got out . . . maybe . . . Nova was pretty cute at the festival,” she grinned, another tease to make him squirm, “Do . . . you?”

Killian Decker

Gavin’s scowl is met with a tight-lipped frown. He has a point, but the whole situation has left Lex frustrated and a tad hot-headed, “Easier said than done,” a quiet growl that she knew wasn’t necessary but her filter was thin at the moment.

“Do you think she’s even capable of respect?” she asks while taking Gaivn’s advice, moving forward through the submarines corridors with a quick pace after the ghosts she sent to find the Gardevoir. She forgot to tell them to refrain from engaging the Gardevoir. The last thing this submarine needed was another beating from battling pokemon.

The Dusknoir suddenly rose from the floor below and into Lex’s path. A deep groan and a slow movement of her long arms beckons them to follow. Smoke must be on the Gardevoir’s trail.

“The wild?” Lex couldn’t help but look a bit surprised. She wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but she definitely didn’t know there was a wild “version” of Shadow Pokemon, “Your shadow pokemon with the dark crystals, are those wild types?” she recalled the Sandslash, Roserade, and Aerodactyl from when Gavin taught her about the Gardevoir. The fact that hers didn’t have black crystals is what made her assume it must be different.

“Besides appearance, is there a . . . strength or ability difference between the wild ones and artificial?” Look at Lex being intrigued and asking questions.

Lex was also surprised to hear that Rocket didn’t actually know how they made their own Shadow Pokemon, “Huh,” she grunted, brows pinched in thought. With Rocket’s scientific resources and the caliber of the scientists themselves, she assumed they’d have some sort of idea.

Killian Decker & Cillian Quinn

The Oricorio took its place among the others in the side pocket of her back pack. The Jolteon reached up towards Lex’s hand, seeking affirmation for its effort today. The red head smiled down upon the Jolteon, reciprocating with a scratch behind the ears, “Yes, good job. We have one more than we can go home," Lex promised, giving Jolteon a firm pat on the head before she trotted back out to lead the way down the path.

A small cry from a nearby bush caught both of their attention. The Jolteon stalked closer, the fur on her back rising and sparking threateningly as it prepared to attack, “Wait,” Lex murmured, holding up a hand. Gently, she parted the branches. The cry was one of sorrow and fear, not from, a threatening pokemon, ”Awww,” Lex cooed, extracting a Happiny gently from the bushes. The baby was crying, and patting it’s empty pouch frantically. Lex knew enough about Chansey to assume the baby was missing something.

The pokemon’s missing stone was nowhere to be found, “Hm,” Lex held the baby pokemon against her hip, lips pursed in thought, “Maybe this will do?” she handed the Happiny the empty Safari Ball she had left. After a moment of consideration, the Happiny reluctantly took the Safari Ball and tucked it into the empty pouch. The pokemon wiggled in her arms getting use to the feeling of the new item. The normal type cooed happily, accepting the offer and Lex’s friendship.
