An urge to lie slivered down Killian's tongue at a compelling pace, begging him to shield Lis from the truth of how deep he'd fallen. "What good would it do?" he asked himself. She'd find out the truth eventually, and lying about it now would only do damage later.

Blue-hues stared into her dark blue orbs. Apathy still sees his expression covered in ice but deep below, burning faint in his voice is pain.

The truth is a blunt hammer that's swung hard.

Alexandra Briarwood meant more than anyone would ever know. He'd do more than die for her. Killian would kill for her too. The world could burn if it meant keeping Lex safe.

"You'd be surprised what you don't know about me, Mars." the list was long, longer than it had any right to be. He kept it tight behind a bulwark of steel patrolled by guards. Like so much in Killian's life, it's a necessary defense.

"To be free.."

He's happy to have the conversation off of him and onto Mars. The questions were growing uncomfortable to answer. Killian hadn't expected something so truthful, however. It caught him off guard, but he hid the surprise behind a drink.

"Those that control you? I take it you mean your family."

Killian didn't know how an oppressive family felt. His mother was loving before the drugs claimed her mind. She'd cared for him as any mother should - more so, he'd argue - recalling her smile. When she finally died and left him on his own, Killian was alone. No one but himself to rely on until Alexandra Briarwood.

He knew nothing of Deoxys's power, but that wasn't true for this new Pokemon. It eagerly showcased its might for the world to see. And what an impression it made.

No. Killian's already too far down this path to deviate from it now. The only option was to move forward.

"When I stole the meteorite, the scientist at Mosedeep were running some tests on it. So I'm sure they are involved. If not them, then definitely Doctor Holo. It's strange for her to arrive right in the middle of all this."

Everyone was collecting these things lately. Killian might not have had the reporting device, but that didn't mean he couldn't help out. He always enjoyed a cipher or riddle. Rearranging the letters of an anagram to figure out the codeword keeping you from hidden secrets gave such a rush of serotonin. Killian set his sights on Unown A and prepared to start hurdling Poke Balls.

She certainly knew how to make an impression. Killian would give her that much. He had yet to meet someone quite asinformed about his network, or at the very least, anyone willing to openly admit they were.

"Yeah, look at you." all full of assumptions and gumption, asking him for something but playing coy in the same breath. Killian exhaled sharply, air puffing out from his nostrils as a sound somewhere between a scoff and a chuckle left him.

"Let's assume your right, and I happen to be on the hunt for spiders. There are so many of them out there. What makes the one I'm staring at now any different than the rest."

Feet halted as the Spinarak descended from the trees. With all the talk about spiders, how fitting. The sight of it ran a warm shudder down Bloodborne's body. Red light pooled faintly behind the blue glass of its eyes. How delicious an appetizer Spinarak would be before Naganadel sank its needle into larger prey.

Subtle in its movements, Bloodborne drifted closer an inch at a time.
