A noise. An instinctive turn. While Reiner's fur bristles and stands on ends, Eris frowns.[break][break]

"That way?" A light pat on the shoulder gets Reiner moving, slowly and gingerly towards where the Combee came from. And it continues to wail, its wings whirring furiously as it hides behind them, almost as if afraid of whatever lies in that direction.[break][break]

Why would a Combee be out in the woods alone? An Ursaring or some other giant beast that has torn into the nest? Why else would a Combee break away from a Vespiquen? She readies herself, leaning close as Reiner leads their stealthing through the undergrowth.[break][break]

The first sign must be the voices, soft words carried upon the winds that whisper to Isaac alone. The groaning of metal, the buzz of flapping wings. Far, far beyond what Eris and Reiner are able to perceive. Danger lies ahead, shifting with numerous plodding steps through what seems like sludge and mulch.
