The bell chimes as the door swings open, revealing one of the most refined visitors she's had to date. And oh, is her presence overbearing, the once listless Dragapult now dropping straight out of his hiding spot in the ceiling with mouth agape. Compared to him, Lumia seems much more composed on the surface, but her hands sure shake as she tries to close his mouth very gently.

"I- uhm- W- welcome?" She's like a Deerling caught in the headlights - She can barely manage look Elinor Anderson in the eyes, her smile shaking ever so slightly as her fingers begin to fidget. "How may I help you today, Mrs Anderson?"

Another awkward pause sees the Dragapult hurriedly skittering around her shoulders, his claws gripping to the fabric of her sleeve as his tail curls around her neck.

"I- I didn't mistake you for the wrong person, right?"

Yet another day that goes by without a letter or even a text, she's pretty much given up at checking her phone for any notifications, save for the occasional emails from returning customers and potential future clients. The floristry is quiet as always, only getting the one or two visitors throughout the day either looking for specific flowers to convey a message or tips on how not to butcher their gardens anymore than they've already had. Even Ren seems restless by the lack of action, his ghostly tail dripping from the ceiling every now and then as he embeds himself right into the infrastructure, leaving only his beady little eyes and sharp claws on the surface.

"You could have joined Astra and Fang with the shopping trip if you wanted. I don't think staying wallstuck is good for you in the long run... maybe? You are a ghost though..." Resting her chin against her palm, Lumia starts to trace circles into her counter, humming an impromptu melody that seems to lead nowhere. "We can't exactly just close up shop for the day either, it'd be rude since we didn't put up any signs beforehand."

The Dragapult merely sighs and sinks deeper into the building's inner walls, his claws leaving an erratic tapping that echoes quietly through the shop.

Yellow - The colour of sweetness, optimism and liveliness. And yet, when she bears it along this path and hands it over to her client, she has no smiles to offer. 'I'm sorry for your loss' has become such a routine thing to say, the meaning of flowers withering with every bouquet she sends off.

'The next job will be lighter.'

The look that her Dragapult gives her is quite easy to read despite his stoic nature. Or perhaps, she's simply gotten good at reading his expressions for however slight they may be. Taking in a deep breath to recollect her thoughts, she has to stop to let it all out, even when her lungs feel so empty and threatens to collapse.

"I really hope it will..." She whispers, pulling a phone out of her pocket as she checks her schedule. "No messages from the dumbie either, so I'm guessing he won't be coming over for dinner."

As per usual, Laurence Anderson has been quite the busy man these past few weeks, handling the internal affairs of ranger politics and most likely having to act the perfect model as a public figure. She can't fault him for not checking in if he's swamped in by other things occurring in his life. After all, she's always lived a relatively stable and safe life, enjoying the secrecy of her family ties and living in an Eden of her own making.

"Cmon, Ren. We still need to prepare the arrangements for the next few days."

Purple and black: The darkest hues of pain and despair. She watches everything swirling into an unconceivable mess, and knows that she's starting to see things that should have been left as they were in the past.

When he cries, she moves before she thinks and reaches out for him. "It's a bad dream." Even if Ren gives her the look that says this is obviously a bad idea, she doesn't pull away, merely squeezing his hand in her own to remind him that she's there. "It's just another bad dream."

He would tell her without hesitation. How she wishes the same could be said for every other question he's been ducking around for the past few minutes.

"You're still not telling me everything."

It's just plain gut instincts, raised from the sheer amount of time spent around this man. When he wishes to hide something, he acts like everything is okay and tends to divert attention away from the real issues. He takes many times head-on, but she knows that he's well-capable of running away from things he'd rather not address.

"You don't know them and you don't know their thoughts. It's almost like how I feel about you right now. You're Lars, but you're not him at the same time. I can't read your mind, and I'm not as connected to whatever's happening in the League." How is she supposed to approach this situation? She's been fretting over it this entire time and has yet to come up with a proper answer. "Back at the tournament... the things they were saying about you and Articuno... I don't get it. What's happening to you?"

Though Lumia isn't quite perceptive enough of her surroundings to notice their new companion, Ren surely recognises and offers Alpha a quiet nod, gesturing for him to keep close. Knowing his trainer, the Dragapult is prepared for her to get lost within this swirling sea of pink. Perhaps, even a little too prepared for her to get jumped by danger. Regardless, he guides her with gentle nudges and points in the direction of the cousin she pursues.

Evan, Léanne - She recognises the names of her cousins, their voices and their appearances but she fails to understand the emotions they display. Anger? Frustration? Whilst she'd been cradled by a loving family in sleepy Oldale, she'd never been able to ask about the Andersons, about what happened to them. Her parents had refused to stomach such a discussion, even on the most grim of days.

She holds her breath. So this is how she finds out, piecing together the pieces she's been offered as Lars stumbles and trips within this web of lies.

For as social a creature man is made out to be, she often finds that they lack faith in one another. Tolerance need not mean cohesion, it's merely establishing boundaries and a status quo that will prove hard to shatter as time goes by.

Taking a long sip of her tea, Lumia finds solace in stringing her thoughts together. Why had the rangers been involved? Because they were the closest to the scene, because they were considered a capable force and because there was no one else to turn to.

"It's natural to help those in need."

It feels strange having to say such a thing to the man, even stranger when she knows that she can say it because she hasn't been through the full extent of turmoil within this region. Regardless, that doesn't make it any less true.

"What do you think goes on in their mind? The people that join Rocket? Why do they feel the need to be in such an organisation..."

She knows nothing of danger but it seems that she's always drawn to it without ever knowing.

When pink mist swirls at her feet, she's quick to flinch, instinctively reaching for the Dragapult wrapped around her neck as she takes a step back. While she's struggling to comprehend the meaning of Interdream Zone, Ren is more or less ready to wrangle any soul that comes stumbling out of the mist, his claws flexing and stretching as his eyes dart around.

It is here that she listens, witnesses what seems to be a rather strange sight: Lars being caught in the mist, standing frozen to the ground as he looks off into the distance. As if a ghost has possessed him, he calls out to spectres that don't seem to exist. And it piques her interest, just as much as it does raise alarms for Ren.

Where is her cousin going? What does he see in this endless swirl of pink? She'll follow close and bear witness to whatever may come, but she doesn't quite dare to tear her cousin out of his trance just yet.

Perhaps, she'll finally see what demons and ghosts he's been keeping locked up all this time.

A cup of hot tea is placed before her, the ceramic surface lightly warming her fingers when she clutches it between her hands.

"Or is it that they're unwilling to risk the lives of those trapped in that city?"

She's never had to grasp such grave matters before, but now that she's faced with such an issue, she has to try. What can she do in such a mess? What aid can she provide with as limited resources as she has? There are many questions she wishes to ask, but she senses that Lars may not give her truthful answers as long as they put her in harm's way.

That's not how a battle works, nor does her demands make any sense. Confusion is visibly scrawled all over her features, but she's learnt how to go with the flow when it comes to meeting the expectations of whimsical guests.

Ren recognises a difference between being unable to avoid an attack and taking it head-on, his body moving to dodge the attack as his tail tugs Lumia out of harm's way. And in turn, he unleashes a Dragon's Breath, scorching the motley gang without any care for which of them gets hit.

"You're not taking him." Strong words, but perhaps her actions don't quite reflect her fighting spirit. The reality of a threat is sinking in and she's realising that being alone isn't the brightest of ideas she can have. So a quick hop to her feet and two steps back allow her to break into a sprint, the soles of her boots scraping against the ground with no intention of stopping.

Anything that allows her to escape this odd confrontation.

When a person is crumbling, it doesn't help to be a broken mess as well.

She has to calm down, she has to reign in her emotions and swallow them for the sake of embracing Lars' own. Like a still ocean, everything leads to a vast nothingness, select words only creating ripples that fade into nothingness.

The mention of legendary pokemon is enough to make her spine prickle, but the added fact that they can mess with reality itself chills her to the core. Crimson orbs watch as the man fixes himself another piece, a deep breath filling her lungs then losing itself to the atmosphere.

"Then it served as a wake-up call, didn't it? It's telling people to pay attention to what they don't usually see, me included."

She hates this, having to put such frigid truths before another.

"Does anyone know where they plan to do next?"

Even now, she knows she's helpless, more likely to be kicked than be the one kicking. So she holds onto the question and keeps it steady upon her tongue.

"Do you know what you plan to do next?"

One slip up after another, it's clear that she's losing her cool though she's given herself this pep talk so many times before. Ren quietly places a palm against her cheek, turning her head towards his before promptly slamming his forehead against hers. In doing so, mini Dreepies are shaken from the cannons, each cooing as they spiral and dance around the flock of Delibird.

If Lumia hadn't been close enough to tears back then, she most certainly was now. Rubbing her forehead only does so much in easing the pain, her bottom lip bitten as she gives Ren a look. And he returns nothing but a soft sigh, gesturing to the two strangers with a flick of his tail.

Talk to them.

She has to take a breath to regather her thoughts, quelling the waves of emotions before she lets it all out.

"I- Uhm... I- if you want me to call you Locke, then uhm! Just call me Lumia! Or Lumie, like Lars does..." Of course, her eyes flicker to Razz Kingsman for a brief moment, uncertain if she should be directly telling him to do the same. Maybe he won't be comfortable with doing so... she really shouldn't force him to do anything!

There's so much that goes on in her mind but in that instant where she seeks an out, she finds one standing right before her eyes.

"Those are cute Meowstic..." She whispers, shyly waving to the felines. "Does they have a name?"

Unlike people, animals are much quicker to express their emotions through actions and sounds. Pure instincts guide the Poochyena into snapping at the Vibrava, a sight which Lumia catches just as she pats the Furfrou. When she gives Ren a small tilt of her head, the Dragapult sighs, taking a snack from his pouch and floating over to the unnamed duo.

Gently slinking himself around the man's shoulders, the dragon shakes the treat before his very eyes, prompting him to take hold of it. As soon as he does, Ren is gone once more, sticking his head through nearby walls to try and catch a glimpse of the last dog. Perhaps, the Poochyena knows where the last missing dog might be? After all, there had never been a time where he'd seen the older dog without the pup in tow...

Not wishing to scare the Poochyena with her approach, Lumia waits patiently, allowing the Furfrou to familiarise itself with her scent.

"So uhm... you never told me your name, and I roped you into this... I'm Lumia! And that Dragapult over there is Ren. W- What's your name?"

Jamison... and Razz... Wait, were those even their names to begin with? She thinks rather hard on the answer and draws only one conclusion: It's best not to assume lest she ends up wishing to kick herself!

The longer she trails on, the softer she gets, her gaze flicking from Lars to the strangers then back again, as if doing so would provide some form of divine guidance. But there's none, only her worries, her thoughts and her complete lack of social skills. She takes a deep breath, pushing down the discomfort in her chest -

Then does the sharpest bow that she can manage, almost slamming her head against the table and throwing the Dragapult right off her shoulders.
