A small nod at Orion Lykos's idea. The pumpkaboo would also be cute. Like, super cute. She was glad Orion had good taste.

While usually Callie would be content to sit in silence, she did like Orion. She was not the best with many social interactions. When she was younger, before the war, anxiety had tore her up. Then after, she was too battered and tired to bother.

Orion is nice. She'll bother for him.

"If we save the seeds, I know how to cook them for a snack."

On paper and in practice, Callie is suspended. Expected to stay at home without pay.

Tam Fawley hadn't said anything when she had shown up right on time as usual, though.

So, technically, Callie was not getting paid for this. The idea of sitting at home on her ass was absolutely miserable. It would be torture. She couldn't do it.

So here she was with Orion Lykos.

She only spared a quick glance at her partner's pumpkin at the question before spinning her own around.

It was crude, yes, but she had made a doodle of Clover on the front.

"I like cute ones the best." While her expression was flat, there was the smallest of upturn to her lips.

Things devolve very quickly.

Jax Cox calls her... something. She doesn't know, but from the fire burning in the man's eyes it must be bad. She earns a pie dropped on her head.

She is still for a moment. Only the gloop of cream and berries sliding down her face and hair.

Silence.

Then Callie attempts to wrap one arm around Jax's neck, holding him still, so she can try and smush a pie right in his face.

Her face breaks into a smile.

This was all really stupid.

Like, super stupid.

But holy shit it would be funny.

"Last one covered in pie wins!"

The gravitas of the situation breaks for her. They all needed some silly fun. They had just been at each other's throats for basically nothing. The stress was eating at them all.

So maybe this would help.

Letting Jax go, Callie grabs for more pies.

She hurls one at Orion Lykos. One aimed at Tam Fawley files too wide and beans poor jacob kim. More are hurled wildly at the crowd of Rangers.

Even the guys in charge are not free. One sails through the air at Elinor Anderson. Another aims to smack Laurence Anderson.

Callie takes no prisoners in her goal to cover everyone in the room with pie.

This whole ordeal had quickly turned into a shitshow. Even as people made rude comments about what she said, Callie failed to care. She would just give them sardonic smiles and continue to eat. She didn't care.

But now, there was one thing that gave her pause.

Callie didn't know Raziel Beckett very well. But she understood him on a level few other people here would. While she was not ashamed of her scars, they had a small bonding moment in the sauna some time ago. So, a spike of white hot anger shot in her gut.

Dropping her pizza, Callie stood. She made as if to follow @arashi.

Instead, she stopped by Jax Cox's cart of pies and picked one up.

(She could see every bit of love and care put into each one. She would need to apologize to Jax Cox later.)

With every bit of strength she had, Callie flung the pie at Matt Vice. The fattest part of his black ass, to be precise.

This place was a circus and she was ready to act like a clown.

Sorry, Tam Fawley.

Callie was having a great time with her pizza, sweet tea, and other assorted bits of food. She was mostly running everything out.

Then the arguing started.

Finishing her bite of food, Callie politely wiped her mouth before saying her own piece. She used to help lead battles in war. She knew how to carry it.

"I agree with Concordas." She leveled everyone, either way they argued, a withering look. Josh Dragomir was free from her glower. She agreed with what he said as well.

"Shut up and do your job or leave. Get your dicks out of your hands and stop pissing over what town has to do what. Just be glad you still have a town to protect."

Shameful.

Picking up another slice of pizza from her plate, Callie squinted at it before chomping into it. Trying to ignore her surroundings once again and enjoy her meal.

Callie just hums at Orion Lykos's admission.

The coffee is dropped off. It's a length of time just long enough for Orion to no doubt think he made some social faux pass.

Callie picks up her coffee and sips. It's creamy and brown and smells like caramel. Her single eye seems to stare into soul before she finally answers.

"You're not my type. I'm a lesbian."

Her fork is picked up next. It sinks into the fluffy crust of a blueberry piece of pie.

"Carla doesn't realize I've been flirting with her for two months."

It was very sad for her.

This was stupid.

A charity auction? When there was so much shit happening?

Wouldn't be anything left to donate too if the whole region blew up.

Ah, but Callie knew rich folks. They probably thought they were immune.

"There's free food."

Flat, plain, she answers Caleb Harcourt. It was, actually, not free food. But the only person who tried to ward her away from the buffet offered had shrunk back under her glower. So, free food. For her.

Sitting at a table, Callie had made herself comfortable. She doesn't respect these people and won't even try and pretend. Politics were also stupid.

Some fruity little tart vanishes into her mouth. They're attracted attention; not that she seems to care.

"Sit down and relax. This is piss work."

Since Callie had spoken the magic words, there would surely be something happen.

Callie gives Orion Lykos a Look that shows she clearly heard his first question. She just very pointedly does not answer it.

Instead, he steps into a trap.

"Oh, yes. They're divine. I quite like the cherry ones. You see, they-" And she leads off on a whole tangent the whole time they walk. Talking about the texture and consistency and how the different flavors were unique on more than taste alone. Orion has unlocked Calliope's autism.

When they arrive at the shop, Orion will surely have learned a lot about pastries.

The lady behind the counter smiles and waves when Callie enters. She raises a brow and glances at Orion, but Callie just shakes her head and goes to take her seat.

"They know what I like. You'll have to order for yourself."

"No."

Callie is about to turn and leave. But she stops and faces Tam Fawley again.

"Yes."

This is followed with:

"Will I get to take down Rockets?"

That was, after all, the most important part of this whole deal.

"It is." There is a measured pause. "I don't do autographs anymore." It wouldn't be the first time someone had the audacity to ask for one if they recognized her.

"Orion?" There weren't very many people with metal arms in class. Orion Lykos was easy to recognize.

She was already making her way for the door, expecting him to follow.

"This place nearby has good coffee. The little pies they make are much better." Oh, she was already wanting to drool over them. If Orion wasn't careful, she would start rambling about food and not stop.
