She was on a learning curve. She tried to make him feel better. Not that he really needed it. He was new to this teaching thing, afterall. Yuina did seem surprise at the number of types a Pokemon has. "There are eighteen known Pokemon types. Each with its own strengths and weaknesses." People start learning about Pokemon at varying ages. Even so, Kee half wondered how she hadn't at least learned that much? Yuina was such a wierd ranger. But yeah, how to test that...

"I have a Houndoom. Normally, his Dark-type attacks would do massive damage to a Hisuin Typhlosion. But if it's a Fairy-type, then a Dark Pulse would hardly do anything to him. Unless my Houndoom is significantly stronger than Kyoko here. Which is a worry, considering my Houndoom is my strongest Pokemon..." He tried to think maybe a safer way. After a moment, it came to him. "Oh! But Fairy-types are immune to Dragon-type moves! I have a Hydreigon! Not with me, I'd have to go switch someone out for her, but that's a possibility! Even if she's much stronger than Kyoko, a Dragon Pulse still won't do any direct damage...might blast her through something though, but that's all...we can test that outside the city..." Less chances of collateral damage that they would be responsible for.

"Ha ha, that's usually how things go!" Kee laughed a little. The best laid plans and all. How many times had Kee make plans, only for something to end up, or more like he got distracted. Shin seemed pretty receptive to the idea of him helping out. That would be a great next date, maybe. Any place to check out...there was a small museum, but they would have to hurry to make it and have a short tour. Then there was the shrine. Dewford...didn't have a lot of places. Just a lot of good nature. And beaches and docks. "There isn't a lot, unfortunately. There is a museum and a shrine, but that's it. There isn't a lot of actual touristy places. Dewford is still a small town. I can see if their theatre is showing anything..."

As he saddled up with the bill, he started to look up what the theatre had to offer. There was a live performance, some kind of theater kid stuff. Could be entertaining. There was an actual theatre that showed movies. Including one about an oversized Tyranitar tearing into Johto, and being challenged by an oversized Ambipom, some kind of horror comedy, and a mystery movie. He'd let Shin know about them.

Keenan stopped. Oops. "Sorry, I went too fast." He laughed a little and rubbed the back of his head. Then he sat back and listened. She was new? Wasn't she a ranger? Or was she a trainee? Not that there was anything wrong with that, it was just unexpected. She suggested taking a step back and go slow. She took out her Typhlosion, which wasn't a normal one to begin with. His eyes sparkled as he exclaimed "That's a Hisuian Typhlosion!" Cool pokemon! She moved on, and terrastalized the cool Pokemon. "Hisuian Typhlosion are usually ghost and fire type pokemon. I think your's is now just a fire type."

Right? Although...pink seemed...not right for a fire tera type? "Well, second thought...I...don't know what tera type it is. Fairy-type? I mean, we can test that if you want to..." He had Houndoom with him. So a Dark Pulse would normally be super effective against a ghost-type. Or a psychic-type? If it was now a fire type, it'd be resistant against other fire-type attacks. This is all assuming she was good with testing these theories...

She smiled at Shaymin, who returned the smile. "Yep, I guess they're super rare, and it's a bit of a process to even get to the grove these little guys are at..." And it involved a special flower that he managed to get by pure chance at a Palentine event. It was quite the interesting experience. Moving on, she gave him a couple of questions. "So basically, using the Tera Orb, Terastalizing changes the Pokemon's type entirely. Like if a Dragonite Terastalizes into a Steel-type, it's no longer weak to Ice, Fairy, or Dragon type attacks. It also boosts the power of those same type attacks, similar to how a move from the Pokemon's typical type is a little bit stronger than if a different Pokemon uses it. Kind of like the difference between a Gyarados using Flamethrower and my Houndoom using it. From my understanding, you can terastalize any Pokemon, it's not limited. But their tera types are usually the same as one of their other types, like if it's a fire and dark type, the Pokemon's tera type is usually one of those two. It's kinda rare for a Pokemon's tera type to be different than their types. Far as I know, that's the only way it affects them. It can really broaden the strategic options..."

And that's not counting the move Tera Blast. It was unfortunately a special move, so physical attackers couldn't make use of it that well, but the move did change type to whatever the Pokemon's tera type is when terastalized. But let's start slow. Keenan had a habit of sometimes going too fast. He had to show some restraint to just information dump all over her. Or anyone else really. Maybe a bad habit he got from his little brother...or dad.

She smiled politely at him, and thanked the teenager. "Oh, don't worry about. I just thought that this was a pretty cool phenomenon." He kept the journals and books in his bag for them to reference. He didn't mind being a test dummy. While he could see the value of changing type in the middle of combat, whether or not that he could use it properly would be a different story. "So, what is it that you want to learn about it?" Practical usage or just plain practice. He wouldn't mind the actual practice part, could be good preparation to seeing if there was a gym available. Shaymin started to sniff at her from atop his head, then made a cute noise and waved at her. "Oh, and this is Shaymin."

He seriously wanted to meet this aunt! Unfortunately, Kee wasn't much at home enough to be able to be lazy like that. Not that he would need to, his mom was the main cook of the house. And definitely made sure all of them were fed. Kee did find the rubbing bak of his neck thing adorable. Maybe no one pointed it out? Or it may also be becaue the blonde wasn't family and was pointing it out. "Talking about it is a first step. The trick is to keep going." That said, as with all things, one could take it too far, but Shin didn't seem like the type to do so. But also...would Shin even remember to do that?

The red head was fine showing him, just that they were in an attic. "A year ago? You really should dedicate a whole day or two to finish up. I'd even help!" Shin would likely feel the positive energy and the smile coming from the blonde as that was spoken. He may not always be selfless, but what was the harm in this? Plus...maybe he could get a new badge between then and now to bring his total up to three. With that proclamation, Kee continued to eat his meal, hoping to finish it before it got cold. Before long, the check delivered, and Kee snatched it. "My treat." He was too full for dessert, so he waited to see if Shin wanted any before letting their waitress have his credit card. Well, more like allowance card. But he had plenty on it. [yellow]"So, what do you want to do or go next?"[/color] And to get a hug from such a cutie.

Ever since the Tera shard phenomenon was discovered and shared and demonstrated, Kee found it really awesome. And had been reading all about it and trying to find any and all information about it. He was by Rustboro, just at the northern edge of the city. He had managed to enroll in a testing program to help rangers learn how to use the Tera Orb. He'd been refreshing himself on it, along with his Shaymin "hat" on the top of his head. Though he wondered if the cutie could actually read or if it was just pretending to be. Or asleep. Whatever the case, he waited patiently for the ranger to arrive.

Wearing a tank top with yellow, short-sleeved overshirt to match his bright blonde hair, and plain jeans, he had his phone in hand reading. It was getting close to the time to meet when he looked up and saw the ranger, a lady named Yuina. He started to wave at her. "Hey! Hi! Are you Yuina? I'm Keenan!" He enthusiastically shouted at her, hoping to get her attention. The blonde was very friendly and perhaps a bit too trusting. Then again, he's had very few bad encounters with people.

Shin also brought up a good point. After work, sometimes, you just didn't want to cook. Perhaps more so after cooking for a bunch of random strangers. He could easily see how exhausting that could be. "Yep, I can see that." He said as he nodded, almost forgetting that Shin was blind. The blonde continued to eat while Shin answered his question. The red head had considered it, but just wasn't sure he had the time to do so. What shocked him a bit was the six badges from Unova. Although the ugly head of being a workaholic did show up.

"Sounds like being a little bit of a workaholic is stopping you a little. There's usually a waiting list, but once you get on it and a date set, with you being the owner, you can give yourself that day off and schedule someone else to do it. I'd love to see any of your gym battles. Actually, Ace is always up for a fight, too, if you want some practice against a ghost and steel type specialist, and really want to challenge yourself. I don't really have a type specialty. Just whatever looks cool or cute. Though I've been told I'm not too bad. I'd...also wouldn't mind seeing those badges either~" He even managed to complete a challenge with mostly little trained if at all Pokemon. His firepower rating was a B, but his adaptability and tactics were both rated as an A plus and above. He'd have to dig that report up again at some point. A little bit of jealousy over the badges was there...but also a good deal of admiration as well. Not the bad kind of jealousy, but the kind that made Kee want to do better or at least as good as his date.

Kee made a giggly laugh at the comment about being emo. It was a fashion style to him. And let's be honest, the blonde could probably pull it off as well. Thankfully, Shin wouldn't be shy about being uncomfortable. Kee continued eating while Shin explained. The waitress was surprised, but said she'll say something to the owner. Stubborn as she was, the owner did evidently like to support businesses that hired or is ran by those with disabilities, no matter how bad or minor. After the waitress left, then Shin explained further. The guy just wasn't that much into competition, just did his thing and went on with life. And didn't mind supporting others in the same line of work. "I think you may find a surprising amount of people that think that way about the restaurant business. Yeah, you're technically in competition with each other, but who wants to eat at the same place every day?"

That said, Shin was competitive on Pokemon battles? "Do you plan on doing any gyms? I got two badges right now. Ace is up to three far as I know. Granted, Aaron is a lot more competitive than I am on that. I may have been good, but Ace is better. Before Houndour evolved, even with a type advantage, I could never beat his Trevenant. I think I managed once or twice, but that was it. We haven't had a rematch since we started on our adventures, but I wouldn't doubt that he just kept the gap large or widen it. He's quite the driven kid..." Perhaps a bit too driven. But you also can't argue that Aaron was strong too.

"Maybe if you were wearing darker clothes and a darker shade of hair. But I think you'd still look cute." Emo boys can look adorable too. And the way Shin was blushing as absolutely adorable. It was Keenan's turn to blush a little when Shin told him his hair was really soft. The red head was definitely open to the hug...away from prying eyes. Aw...who knew Shin was a little shy. Or maybe he wasn't out yet to his family. "Sounds like a plan. If you're ever uncomfortable, do let me know~" Kee smiled, even if Shin couldn't see it, maybe he could feel it? Whatever, he wasn't going to sweat it.

Luckily, food got there. His order was perfect, as was Shin's, right down to the separate dish for the baked beans. After checking to make sure everything looked fine, the waitress let Shin know where she had put everything, and the dish layout with a practiced eye. "Do you have experience with blind customers?" Kee was curious, since they were super accomodating. With a smile, the waitress said that they were all trained to be, since the owner was blind herself, having lost her eyesight due to cataracts. While treatable, the lady was apparantly stubborn and didn't get it treated until it was too late to do anything. Kee nodded and started to chow down...

Kee was listening to some music. "Spiderman's control and Batman with his fists, but I'm not looking for someone with superhuman gifts..." Something Just Like This by none other than Niky Racz. The blonde really wanted to listen to it with shinobu fujimori, preferably on another date. Maybe he'll surprise his boyfriend at Lilycove? And eat/offer his services if the lad was hiring? It was tempting...but he'd like to earn a gym badge maybe before then. Right now, he was watching the Palafin and Finizen swarm. They were adorable! And having another water type to go diving with would be super helpful. And so, he got out Vikavolt, and hopefully one would be ready to be a new friend of his!
