"ooh. a man of god, you say?" her lips turn upwards into a smirk as he unwinds his tale. quite the tragic backstory — though it's to be expected for these sorts of things. her eyes glance towards the fabric, wondering which class she'll pick.

"skoll, double team. deliver." the command, though soft, is stern — the lycanroc raises his ears in alert, as his body separates into several copies and he darts forward on silent paws into the brush. callie follows a little bit slower, hand on her belt, just in case they come into contact with the enemy a little bit too soon.

it still felt surreal hanging out with paxton concordas. he told her that there was no need for formalities, considering that they were out of the military, but old habits die hard. she still had to bite the inside of her cheek whenever she thought about calling him captain — even then, she still said it the majority of the time.

[break][break] today, they're calling in on a report that something has infiltrated the local lighthouse. part of her wonders why rangers couldn't be called in for the effort, but it's because the locals were unable to confirm whether it was a pokemon infiltration or something worse.

meteor falls had a lot of history, which was why some people visited the place. there were rumors fallen meteors or forgotten shards that were perhaps hidden amongst the grove, even though millenia had passed since such an incident. it was certainly the kind of thing that would interest people like paxton concordas or likewise minded people.

[break][break] just from outside the cave, there is a wonderful spot where the falls rush down from a cliff that is just high enough to be exhilarating but not high enough to die. callie makes a running start and leaps, a perfect dive into the water beneath before swimming to the surface with a bright grin. her lycanroc paddles over to her with an excited bark, tail wagging.

she had been joking, but the honest and wholehearted way that he responded was... kind of cute. not that she was going to tell him that.

[break][break] this time, her tone is less skeptical and more curious. she can't relate exactly, but she understands being so involved in a world that she wants to just keep digging. it reminds he of that mmo that she's been getting into as of late. vaguely, she wonders if DANNY HALL plays video games.

[break][break] "you're sneaky," she says with a huff, releasing his hand so that she can fold her arms across her chest. still, she doesn't mind too much. it's not like @sole or paxton concordas are here to see it, anyway, so there's no need to be embarrassed. callie peers curiously as the colorful fabrics before turning to him.
