it's odd, almost, to be walking into the office for the first time since moving to hoenn. his siblings have been here before, he's sure, but uri hasn't had it in him.[break][break]

uriah will always be his sister's biggest fan. no question or doubt about it. ALWAYS.

he's not even that focused on his own battle. partly because he knows rich the greedent can handle itself, but also because he's in awe watching his sister battle. he can see her growth and how far she's come.

like a proud brother, he nods in approval.

giving his machamp the moral support it needs, uriah simply sits back and watches as his machamp dashes forward to CROSS CHOP the alpha male (not uriah, but the confusion is understandable).

taking a step closer to his sister, uriah points at her litleo.

"pawz is getting quite big, huh!"

that's it? that's all they get out of her? it doesn't sit well with uriah, not one bit, but for obvious reasons he doesn't. he'd be stepping out of line otherwise.

kyle is the superior officer here, after all.

"thank you, dr. holo."

he rubs at his jaw, unsatisfied with that interrogation. but he leaves all the same, nodding as he turns to kyle.

"i hated that. she knows more, i know she does."

groaning, he finally nods.

"fuck it. yeah, denny's it is."

"three weeks ago, huh?"

an awfully long time for a parent to have last seen their child. but then again, should he really be surprised? GABRIEL BLACK has always been absent. he's not sure why he expected anything to be different here.

he sighs, turning his attention to the salamence that appears.

"holy!"

and then, from around the corner, comes an equally INTIMIDATING krookodile.

"double holy! yeah, we got this, sis."

he prepares for battle as well.

uri, while normally extremely perceptive (not really), misses her small change in expression. he's also looking off to the side at nothing in particular.

"oh, cool, cool."

only now does he look back over. the next question leaves a little hesitant, as though he's unsure whether or not he should be asking.

"so are you cool if i visit?"

at least one of them is happy. actually, he's pretty sure gabrielle black is happy, too. so is Sirius Black. so maybe it's just him that's the odd one out?

would not surprise him.

"uh, what do you exactly do again in verdanturf? i forgot."

in all honesty, he's been taking the time to try and process what happened, his emotions, and what he needs to do to move on. he should've told her.

his sister's attempt to brighten his mood works splendidly. he chuckles, nodding.

"that sounds nice. oh, yeah, how's verdanturf going? anything exciting?"

he repeats out with a sigh as he leans back in his chair. if it isn't clear by now, kyle's the superior officer here, so it makes sense that he leads.

meeting kyle's gaze, he nods.

"i would imagine so, officer lopez. after all, dr. holo did say we're on the world stage. it wouldn't be too far-fetched to say others have their eyes glued on us like we're a target, would it?"

he looks back to the doctor.
