His answer really isn’t an answer. Just another taunt to pluck at her curiosity. Tall, dark, handsome, mysterious; there is an intriguing quality about him she can’t quite put a finger on. The huntress in her finds it thrilling. There’s something to be discovered and taken for her own. Having a little fun along the way seemed like a bonus.

After a moment of consideration, she hums a short ”Hmm,” while manicured nails stroke across the kitten’s back, “Consider me intrigued, Bel,” she finally responds with a soft smile. The free hand reaches into the small golden clutch dotted with jewels beside her. A black matte business card presents itself. Upon closer inspection, he would note a gold, elegant writing that spells out her name and phone number beneath it.

Her dark eyes flash towards the timer that threatens to interrupt their brief conversation, “How about dinner next week? Contact me and I’ll give you a time and place,” she reaches over to offer him the card.

He seems hungry, she is too, but Toni is rather picky when it comes to men. There’s not much that gives away the subtle interest as she keeps a neutral, composed demeanor. She lets the red wine slide slowly over her tongue before swallowing. The free hand gently scratches the Shinx’s chin keeping her occupied.

“And what makes you worth my time, bel?” she questions with a hint of curiosity in the shaped brow that raises. Her dark eyes drift over to the timer on the table. If he wanted more time than this, he’d need to find a rather intriguing answer.

She watches him approach with a small, curious smile. His dark eyes are cunning, seductive . . . a bit arrogant. They trace over her with a certain hunger, and the look is returned through her own dark eyes. Perfectly manicured fingers reach to take his hand in greeting, the smile growing a bit wider with the gentle peck.

“Pleasure to meet you, Bel. I’m Antoinette,” she purrs softly, returning the hand to the soft fur of the Shinx curled up in her lap, “You can call me Toni,” The feline’s bright blue fur clashes against the emerald green of her silken dress. It’s a simple dress, meant to draw more attention to the elaborate golden jewelry she adorned, “This is Willow,” the shinx flicks her tail in greeting, maybe annoyance. It’s hard to tell.

“A snack?” she laughs lightly, reaching for the glass of fine red wine she already had delivered to the table, “I’m a main course, darling.”

Belial Stone

She catches a scent. A momentary pause to commit it to memory then a low growl indicates the hunt is on. With a powerful push of her hind legs, the Houndom launches forward, the amle at her flanks. Toni is quick to follow, nimbly racing after the canines.

Naturally, they pull ahead. Shoal Cave isn’t made for a bike or mod of transportation that will let Toni keep up. Regardless of where their trainer is, the pokemon know what to do, what she wants.

It’s not a beast they find, but it’s a pokemon nonetheless. The small Cubchoo is alone with no guardian to be found. It’s easy prey, not the battle the Houndoom would like but Toni would be pleased with a bear.

When the Huntress arrives, the Cubchoo has already fainted. A small, still body on the cavern floor. Charred white fur and a streak of ash across the stone is the only indication that there was any sort of battle. Alpha delivers the Cubchoo to Toni in the gentle grip of her maw, “Good girl,” Toni praises, letting a gloved hand glide over the Houndoom’s head, giving a bit of extra attention between the horns.

An empty pokeball is dropped from her free hand, aiming to capture the Cubchoo and claim it as hers.

Capture attempt

She seems startled, frantic. The poor thing. If Toni only knew she too was trapped in the same nightmare, her thoughts may have been a bit more kind. Still, the huntress remains unaware.

Her head tilts slightly to follow the pocketknife down into the tree’s roots which . . . move? No, that was her eyes playing tricks on her. Toni throws up a casual hand in response to her question, a thumb pointing behind her, “That way,” a simple answer for a rather silly question.

A nightmare? Her head tilts like a curious dog. Now that is a strange question. After a beat of silence, she laughs. It’s whimsical, light, and surprisingly elegant for the setting, “A nightmare? Of course not . . . are you high?” she asks curiously, raising a brow. That would explain the paranoia. Must be some good shit.

Remi Cassel

It’s not exactly what she had in mind for her day but seeing as the weather wasn’t nearly what she thought I would be she is left with limited options. Whether it’s mild curiosity or sheer boredom we’ll never know. Eventually, she agrees.

“Hm, guess it could be fun,” with a slender finger she pushes the sunglasses back up over her eyes, “Lead the way, King.”

KING WAYLAND

The Huntress looms at the opening to Shoal Cave. There’s a bitterness to the chill in the air that sends a single shiver down her spine. She should have worn a jacket. Oh well, it’s too late now. The hunt is on.

”Alpha,” a single word and snap of her fingers. The Houndoom grunts, launching forward. She’s followed closely by her pack member, a lower ranking male. The female takes a moment to get her bearings, sniffing the air with an ODOR SLEUTH before pressing it back to the cold ground, searching for the scent of a beast.

Ice/Ground Spawn

At the mention of clothes, she glances down at her outfit that hides the bikini underneath. It’s simple, a long-sleeved, somewhat loose fitting white dress. She was hopeful the sun would burn off the clouds and that it would warm up a bit but it didn’t seem promising.

With a heavy sigh, she glances back up at KING WAYLAND. A small frown tugs at the corner of her lips, “I could . . . what is it that you’re doing again?” Something about pieces of shit? She’s probably overdressed for that occasion too.

KING WAYLAND

Ugh, this guy. She tilts the sunglasses subtly down the arch of her nose to per past the frames and towards the familiar voice. There are mixed feelings, mostly regret, but a fondness in the way she grins, drinking him in, equally as shameless.

“Hm, King, what’re you doing here?”

She’s certainly not here to ‘shake down’ anyone. She has other people she can pay for that.

“I’m here to enjoy the beach,” although the winter gloom has made it nearly impossible. It’s overcast, cold, and a bit too windy, “Well, I was trying to, at least,” she admits with distaste.

KING WAYLAND

Unlike Remi, her hunt had just begun. In a similar fashion, she finds the frustration building, boiling over as the minutes tick by into hours and still they haven’t seen a single pokemon. The Houndoom sweep the forest in front of her, using odor sleuth to fish for a scent – any scent. It’s impossible they couldn’t pick up one trail, “Useless,” she hisses from behind the helmet, her tone laced with a subtle electronic tone.

A gloved hand raises to lift the visor. Dark eyes peer out into the night. A chilled wind brushes against the bare skin, but she doesn’t shiver.

A piercing howl marks the start of a hunt. Finally, they’ve caught a scent. It’s not pokemon, but it’s something.

Much to her disappointment, the Houndoom lead her to a small clearing. The silhouette of a woman stands near a tree.

She’s seen that before, she’s passed that tree. Did they just lead her in a circle? The pack keeps their distance and Toni raises the visor again, leaves crunch beneath each step. She’s not trying to hide, she’s curious. The woman seems to be in some sort of distress.

“Lost?”

Her gaze follows his movements as if she’s almost expecting him to do something else. With a small smile, she brings the glass to her lips, taking a small sip, letting the liquid roll across her tongue before she swallows it.

She lets the question linger for a moment as she considers it, “I’m content . . . for now,” just her eyes flash up to meet his. Honestly, she’d benefit from getting the fuck out of here before she gets herself in any more trouble. An anchor made of exhaustion and curiosity weighs her down and keeps her in place beside him.

The tease of innocence does make it more delightful although both can see through the other. It’s the game that makes it fun, a not-so-innocent version of cat and mouse. This isn’t what she was expecting today but how could she say no to a bit of entertainment? Especially when it came with a handsome smile.

Dark eyes watch his hand move up and she doesn’t shy away. His fingertips gently brush against her olive skin, glistening in the moist air and tinted a rosy hue by the rising heat, “I’m not sure, what should it feel like?” the salacious smile remains, and she answers his question by leaning closer. Beneath the surface, a hand wanders; She seeks skin. If she finds it, the gentle brush of her fingertips would slowly trace up his thigh.
