For their credit, his Dragonite and Braviary looked offended. If it was any of his others, it would have been pretty accurate, since he hadn't had the time to bond with them as much. But these two? They were his oldest and dearest friends. Although...even on a technicality, which was the best kind of correct, he supposed the Pokemon wasn't wrong. "Well...you're not wrong. I befriended them and nursed them back to health before they decided to stay with me on their own. They're my oldest friends. And I would do anything for them." Ollie's Dragonite and Braviary both barked and screeched back in confirmation that they would do the same for him, not that Oliver could understand what they were saying. But he did have a pretty good idea.

"I'm Oliver Shrakes, a ranger. I was sent here to investigate this barrier and see what it's affect is on the wild Pokemon populations. What about you?" Hopefully his friendly demeanor would help, as well as introductions. Beyond just getting out, maybe he could see what this Pokemon's name was, and what was its purpose.

Oliver watched as it continued its assault, to no avail. When it finally gives up, it also noticed him. Immediately, his Dragonite and Braviary went into combat mode, but waited for the order or if the Pokemon attacked first. It didn't attack. Instead, a voice that was like someone was yelling from a great distance spoke in his head. The red head was surprised at first, but motioned his two friends to relax a little. No need to give it an excuse to try to harm them. Besides, something told him if it wanted to do them harm, it would have attacked already. "That's what I'm out here trying to figure out as well. We tried flying out from the top only to run into the barrier. Attacks don't seem to do anything to it...and even trying to dig underneath it seems useless since we still run into it. Still, we're not going to give up trying to find if there's a weak spot or something..."

They were just resting after all. Although, an idea did come to mind. He had Inteleon with him for ranged attacks...could them, Dragonite, and this Pokemon brute force their way through? Sounded unlikely, but he also didn't know if that been tried before. "Why don't you rest a little bit. And see if two of my friends' attacks and yours combined can break through? I get the feeling it won't, but never hurts to try." Teamwork, afterall. But just how willing was this Pokemon to work with them?

As he continued to watch, Oliver was making notes. Including about the...did a part of that Pokemon's body transform? What the hell? He thought only Ditto can transform, and even then only the entire Pokemon it was copying. The red and black haired young man didn't know of any attack that allowed a Pokemon to do that. So far anyways. But as the Pokemon got closer...he got a better view of the morphed hand. It was certainly unlike anything he's seen...and he's seen a lot. Including some outright gruesome ends of people and Pokemon. But even this seemed off to him by a lot. Other this thing, there wasn't much else to report about the barrier itself, nor its origins. Not unless this Pokemon found something he didn't.

Ollie's Braviary and Dragonite were on guard now. The ranger pursed his lips. Was this a legendary Pokemon that got trapped here? The only thing he could do was take notes and hope that it maintained oblivious to him...

Oliver watched the Pokemon go full on ham on the barrier with what looked like Psychic blasts. Shaking his head, he decied to back off and find someplace to land and rest a little bit. Finding a tiny island, Dragonite and Braviary landed on it. It was a good distance away from the Pokemon, but likely not so much that it couldn't see them. Still, both of his flyers were wary of it. Sighing, he couldn't help but wonder where did this dome come from. No signs whatsoever on anything about it. Including how to get rid of it. If the League had an idea on how to take down the meteor, hopefully whatever the plan was, it could also take down the barrier, and still have enough time for that second disaster. In the meantime, he just watched the odd Pokemon do its attacks to no avail. And hoped that it wouldn't try to vent its frustration at him.

Oh boy, now they were getting somewhere. Between others that were involved filling in holes, it was time for war stories about Rocket. Though there were also reminders that legends weren't invincible. Annoyingly powerful, but not the end all be all they appeared to be. If experience needs to be known, he'd also mention it. "Back in Johto, I was on the frontlines when Rocket did their assault. I know their threat level without legendaries. I can hold my own if they show up to screw with our plans, and I'm confident enough to deal with a legend if one arrives. Besides, I got a bone to pick with them as well...though maybe not nearly as bad as Orion Lykos." The red head gave a sympathetic look. Poor guy. Not that his own loss of his parents were light either, but he at least was never tortured.

Oliver didn't react much to Sacha's outburst. He simply shrugged as if to say that it's alright. And just continued to listen in and sit back and watch the fireworks. Although when SACHA ROSIER whispered to him if this was normal, Ollie whispered back. "Beats me. I transferred from Johto eight-ish months ago, and this is the first major everyone come here meeting I've been to." And he admittedly hasn't had much interaction with most people here. So he just listened some more, with Tam Fawley calling for order, in which Laurence Anderson thanked. One part of good news was that the Head Ranger didn't put up with this crap.

Which was probably why Josh Devlin got away one of the lightest, because he apologized. Then he went into what he saw when he investigated something. After a really bold declaration that he needed to find and befriend Raikou, Josh sat back down and cried. In Ollie's mind, the man really should have remembered more, particularly the orchestrators of this thing. Nevertheless, he didn't say a word nor blame the man for his breakdown.

Oh boy. Oh boy. While he returned SACHA ROSIER 's smile, he watched, learned, and listened. The various points and devices to deal with the meteor, and then the chaos. There were some standouts, there were some that made him disappointed. To the point that it was no wonder the region was going to hell. However, Oliver did admire Laurence Anderson 's declaration and resolve...but he wasn't sure if the biggest hot heads would heed the man's words. He may have worked here in Hoenn for almost a year now, but he still felt like a stranger. So his own little quip probably won't mean anything, especially since he was a transfer from Johto. Specifically to help out these guys. "For what it's worth, I'll go wherever needs the most help. My Dragonite can be me to wherever in a jiffy." He didn't care where, and he could easily reinforce most places in a hurry.

Sounded like all the points were going to have their own issues, so it didn't matter to him. So long as who he's working with aren't idiots, even if they ended up being people he disagree with, this was bigger...they needed to do this to protect everyone. And really hoped when crunch time came this shitshow doesn't happen.

Josh seemed very impressed, which only served to make his Dragonite puff up. The man seemed very gobsmacked...and maybe reconsidering. Not that it would be a bad idea...but at the same time...evolving should be the Pokemon's decision, in Oliver's mind. At the suggestion, Oliver looked at Dragonite, who nodded. He could carry one of them, and then the other ride on his back. "Yeah, sure thing. May slow him down a tiny bit though." The red head would offer Josh the dragon's arms first, to be carried. Oliver didn't care much about how he rode, he was very used to it at this point.

Whatever the riding conditions would be, Dragonite would first do a short dash forward, the a quick upward jolt as he took to the skies. Then he would face Petalburg City, and fly-sprint towards it. He wasn't completely up in the clouds, but it wasn't like he was close to the treetops either. It actually took almost six minutes to get there in a straight shot. Dragonite slowed down and looked for the second round of the food drive. Spotting it, he would spiral down gently to let Josh go. Oliver also put his feet on solid ground. "So...did that get your heart pumpin, racing fan?" He gave the guy a teasing smile. Of course, in a an actual race, Dragonite would have to move slower so he could make the turns, but yeah...he was fast.

Josh Devlin

There was a location, and the ground seemed like the best way to go. Matt Vice tried to seem friendly, but was still very awkward. Eh, maybe some drinks later will solve that. Right now though, it was business. paxton concordas gave more sound advice. Nodding, Oliver then covered the chance of someone escaping. "I got Rockruff to track them down if they do happen to escape. And once we're sure everyone is there, Joltik can start setting up webs to catch people trying to retreat. I also have Weepinbell to use Sleep Powder as well. Hopefully that should get most of them. Bravary wouldn't be uncommon to the area...I'll keep the other two with me though." And Inteleon and Dragonite knew their roles here anyways.

And both knew how to make quick decisions upon exiting a Pokeball. If they knew when the transaction was to take place and all...well, it was best to get out there then, wouldn't it? "Well, if we're positive about the location and the time where this is to go down...shall we?" The mostly red head looked at both of his cohorts.

Before he knew it, and before he and SACHA ROSIER could continue, the meeting started. First up came the promotions, which Oliver applauded. He hadn't done anything really deserving, so he didn't expect one. He hoped to up his game though. The red head continued to eat though, paying attention to the meeting as best he can. The Head Ranger started however. He revealed five locations to set up a device that would send the incoming meteor elsewhere. Oliver wished he knew where the elsewhere was, but as long as it wasn't Johto or any other region, decided he didn't really care. What he didn't like was the reaction it was going to cause for the local population of Pokemon. They were going to go crazy. Of course there would be a catch. And one of the locations just happened to be where one of the rangers happened to be taking paternal leave to be with their family.

Oliver had mixed feelings on that one. On the one hand, if it was the most viable spot, okay then. But if not...surely another location could have been chosen. The Head Ranger himself didn't seem to like the decision either, but Ollie also understood that some things were just out of your control. The floor then became open for questions. So far, the only question he heard was what was being installed there. Ollie nodded at that one. Though in the end, he was just going to go wherever he was needed and defend the location.

Seemed like Josh hadn't been a ranger for long. Well, he certainly didn't act like it. The lad was a natural for it, and seemed to have the heart for it as well. "Sounds like you're a natural. And maybe even a little ambitious. But don't forget to have your fun days to just relax and let off some steam. Going full throttle will only wear you down." Ollie was ambitious himself, but his boss back in Johto also warned him about taking on too much too fast, and to pace oneself. Bless that man. Hopefully this barrier can be taken care of and he can talk to the old coot.

Oliver nodded at the man to go do whatever he needed. Upon returning, Josh asked him if his Dragonite knew Extreme Speed. "He doesn't, but if he can make it to and from Slateport in a half hour, the short flight to Petalburg would still only take five minutes tops." Dragonite was a fast flyer. He really didn't need Extreme Speed to get to anywhere fast. He could probably get to everywhere in Hoenn in mere hours. But that was only if he was the only thing Dragonite was carrying. Oliver also always kept his riding goggles. It looked like Dragonite had his fill of food. And was ready to go!

Josh Devlin

This was something that he was eager for. Ollie always looked for an excuse to beat up on some Rocket pieces of trash, and this gave it to him. Finally! Behind him was his main battler in Dragonite, backed up by Bravary and Inteleon. He also had Rockruff to pursue, as well as Weepinbell for mass sleep attacks. Joltik for crowd control with Discharge, he had a good team he felt. Oliver didn't just wear his normal ranger uniform though, he also kept a collapsable baton and taser on him. And handcuffs. The five foot seven red and black haired man nodded at paxton concordas. It was simple. For now. No plan survives contact with the enemy. But a plan is better than nothing. Plus hitting fast and hard should make things much easier...and hitting things fast and hard was sort of a specialty of his.

Matt Vice thought that they would most likely be using a ground route due to the local wildlife. Bugs usually weren't on the agenda for poaching. Besides, going by air, while having its advantages, also makes you lose some control, and can't exactly hide real well. Especially if you know you were being followed or was trying to keep an eye out for patrols. He agreed with Matt on that. So he stayed silent. Oliver literally didn't have anything else to add. He gave them his Pokemon's information. At least the team he planned to use and their roles. The bad boy looking man didn't hear any objections far as he was aware.

And so, he pointed the most likely location. Deep in the forest, but still having enough of a clearing to make such a deal possible. They just need to know where to best hide their Pokemon. Joltik would be easy, as would Weepinbell. Ollie's other four...not so much. Well, Rockruff can likely stay by him. Bravary wouldn't be spared a glance due to it's flying type. Dragonite and Inteleon would be the real problems. "How many of our Pokemon do you want out? Only one of my main battlers wouldn't be out of place. The other two would be..."
