Consider her interest piqued.

Remi tilts her cheek, brow raised and sly smirk stretching across perfect lips.

"Is it? For me or for you?"

Their glasses clink together and she watches him sip the drink first before bringing it to her own lips. It hits hard, potent and burning on the way down. It was perfect, spicy, enough to make anyone choke.

She doesn't.

He introduces himself and she slowly sets her glass back down against the bar. It clinks, she spins it, continues to offer him her undivided attention. Her finger taps against the edge of the glass and stops for a heartbeat before starting back up at the mention of Virgil.

"He really does seem to like strays, doesn't he?"

With a quiet hum, she considers his question and whether or not she wants to be honest with him. But given where they are, and the fact he was sharing a drink with her...

"Hoenn's richest and most powerful are generous with their praise, what can I say?"

"So you stole it."

And chances are, this wouldn't be just a simple, easily overlooked clerical error. The contents of the paperwork in her hands stated nothing out of the ordinary, really, outside of one single line. The word 'Reshiram' jumps up off of the page, and although there is no further information, it was enough for her.

Her brother had been murdered, found with a pierced torso and had died from bleeding out and suffering a punctured lung. Various other details were written down, including the fact that his body had been found nearby a Reshiram.

But within the file, there was no mention of 'avatars'. It's what prompts Remi's confusion and her tilted chin as she looks back up at him.

"How do you know for certain he was an avatar?"

Rough fingers find hers. It surprises her, and she stares blankly at them for a moment before slowly squeezing in return.

The motion quickly turns into her stepping forward and into his arms. She is not shy, for she never has been. Her grip is tight, familiar, holding him close as if worried she might never be able to reach him again.

"I'm here now."

But for how long? How long until the guilt creeps to the surface again, until her unchecked anger and emotion get the better of her and she chooses to cut ties and run away? How long until she hurts him again, and hurts herself in the process?

A creature of habit, Remi has become, and none of them good.

"I miss you."

It's a shitty answer, one borne out of fear and reluctance to be honest. Maybe he believes in what he's saying, but she doesn't.

She doesn't know what to believe anymore.

"I'm sorry I left you."

She winces at the apology, unsure if she even believes it. Her gaze lowers to the floor, her fingers ball around the fabric of her eyepatch.

"Maybe things would have been different if I hadn't. Maybe Roman--"

The assault didn't stop. Alexei's flying apple had a lot more confidence and aggression than the Dratini did, and although the little wyrm's speed had risen as a result of her dragon's dance, she was not even slightly prepared for what would come next.

Small but mighty.

Flapple ROLLOUTS right into the side of her, knocking her to the ground. Again and again the opponent comes back, running her over, flattening her tail, battering her azure scales. She squeals in pain each time, unable to find the strength to move out of the way.

Remi grimaces, unsure what to make of her Pokemon's lack of drive.

"Qi'ra, snap out of it! Don't just let that pipsqueak wail on you like that. Fight back!"

This Dratini was nothing like her bears. She was weak and timid and unwilling. Her bears were bold and brash, almost to a fault. She was used to telling them to back off from a fight, not encourage them.

"You can do this, Qi'ra. Just breathe."

The Dratini mewls, visibly weak now after being rolled upon several times. But she does attempt something, even if it doesn't do anything to injure the Flapple. Above her head, clouds roll in and RAIN BEGINS TO POUR. Perhaps it would make it more difficult to see with such a torrent of rain.

"Tuck and roll!"

While the Flapple itself was difficult to see, the GRAV APPLE was not. Remi winces as she watches her Dratini coil tightly into a ball and bounce to the side to narrowly avoid the dropped fruit. The impact, however, of the grav apple does send her sprawling out in a surprised string of blue scales.

She slaps against the ground, stunned and breathless. It leaves her defenseless for a moment.

"Dragon dance!"

Remi claps her hands together to try and encourage the little wyrm to get up off the ground. Miraculously, she does. The Dratini begins to perform a hasty dance, wiggling from side to side to boost her speed and strength.

Signing up for search and rescue as a kind and generous, law-abiding citizen was all too easy when the League was desperate for extra hands. She didn't mind the opportunity either, as it opened up alleys for smuggling and for extra money in her pocket courtesy of the League's generosity.

The only downside? It was cold as tits outside, and that was the whole reason they needed help. Many Pokemon were being displaced and freezing to death trying to seek shelter. And, while it was convenient for her to smuggle a couple under her skirts and pretend they'd gone missing or perished, the fact of the matter was, she still had to keep the ones she wanted alive.

Remi glances over her shoulder and does a double-take, one because she notices he's staring at her, and again because she notes the earrings he's wearing. She frowns, stares at him quizzically.

"Nah, not really. I'm two-timing these suckers."

She gestures with her chin, then flicks at her own earlobes.

"You should take those suckers out if they're metal. They'll give ya frostbite if it gets cold enough."

For good measure, she pulls her hood over her head to keep her own ears warm. Just looking at him like that made her even colder.

Remi blinks, and the Flapple disappears. It was so.. tiny, and with the green of the trees and grass, the small cracked-open apple was difficult to pick out of a crowd.

Fortunately for her, Dratini is far more capable of seeing than she was. She braces for impact as the WING ATTACK strikes at her skinny body. She squirms and writhes, crying out in pain at the buffeting.

"Slap it away from you with a dragon tail."

She tries to keep her voice steady and calm. The little Dratini hated raised voices and shouting, and was quite the nervous little creature. Any undue stress made her tense up and give up. They couldn't afford to lose this -- well, they could, but it would be humiliating. She could almost hear her brother's nagging laughter over her shoulder.

"Go on, Qi'ra."

The Dratini shakes herself, before her tail become imbued with blue energy and she lashes out with the intent to smack the Flapple with her DRAGON TAIL.

Quick exhales and clumsy fingers, numb with urgency and dulled senses pluck at her pant button. She takes over, hand covering his own, though hers are far clumsier, to unfasten and unzip.

Flattering lace decorates her hip, nothing fancy, but nothing to sniff at. She hadn't planned for anything, necessarily, but hadn't left herself underdressed. Both a little and a lot of thought went into her outfit, clearly.

Remi places his hand at her hip, and her own lips find the roughness of his jaw.

Her skin flushes where his lips make contact. She sighs, alcohol and hunger encouraging her to cut loose and melt beneath his touch. He manages to unlock one of her sensitive spots almost immediately, with a brush of her hair over one shoulder and careful attention to the curve of her neck turning her soft.

Gods, and the way he says her name. Her sighs turn to soft groans and she responds positively to the path his hand follows down her frame. With one caught up in her hair, the other travels down, only to be met as a pair in order to squeeze and lift her onto the table. She is set down with a thud, and she glances back to find the once cluttered table is now cleared.

She smirks.

"Smooth." She hums, amused. "C'mere."

Slowly, the woman begins to wrap both legs around him to pull him closer.

When she recovers, she leans back and wipes her mouth. Before her very eyes, her vomit is absorbed into the earth as what she can only guess is another sacrifice. She feels queasy about the whole thing, as well as the fact that her hands have turned into blades and there is now spittle on her saw-hand.

She was hideous.

Someone above shouts, and she recognizes it as priam conrad. Something about paths or something. Whatever, chances are she'd be one of the last to move given her out-of-body experience, and she'd follow THEO BECKETT and KING WAYLAND, and ultimately Lulu Flint on whatever path they chose.

As it happens, the boys move to the right. So she does too, doing her best to keep up in spite of the rocky marsh. The water splashes up her legs and she feels immense discomfort as a result. Her Teddiursa has now climbed above her shoulders if she hadn't already by last turn, gripping her hair tight enough to make a grown woman cry.

But at least she was safe.

Remi's Unown hovers around nearby as well, keeping close with its wide-open, creepy eyeball. It seems transfixed by the rocky formations but doesn't stray too far from its trainer. The Teddiursa waves at it from time to time as it makes its rounds.

THEO BECKETT's WILL-O-WISPS light the way, and she takes advantage of the dancing lights to keep up with them all. In the meantime, all of the excitement from earlier and the rhythmic steps of Remi lulls the Teddiursa to REST.

Should any rocky formations block her path or attempt to slow her down, Remi would happily DUAL CHOP her way through them. And now.. wait.. is that a vine? Something brushes up against her to connect everyone taking the BLUE PATH on the right. She does her best to tuck it under her armpit, admittedly thankful for the connection to the rest of her peers.

"You doin' alright there, four-eyes?"

Damn, that sucked. Many-eyes was definitely better.

"Just think, girlfriend, at least you aren't getting wet!"
