the silhouette was gone! "eevee, be alert! ground-type pokemon are like ekans' hiding in the grass." and right now this sandstorm served as the grass and excadrill the ekans'. the floor rumbled beneath them as excadrill emerged to deliver another crush claw.

eevee couldn't take another hit from that. "COPYCAT!" the pokemon would raise its paw, hand aglow, and would clash with the excadrill's very own crush claw. static crackled between the pair, but the difference in power was clear enough. the excadrill would push back the eevee. sending it tumbling. the eevee would shakily stand, buffeting simultaneously from the sandstorm's effect.

"eevee!" this was bad. he'd look to cian from across the field, "you're definitely no pushover." at least he could respect the fact that he wasn't going easy on them. "using the sandstorm as a cover to launch that surprise. we barely got out of that." eevee was still revving to go. "well, if eevee is still willing to put up the fight. we're not backing down just yet!" eevee would utter a battle cry. the normal-type would ready itself for excadrill's next assault.

eevee was piercingly struck in retaliation. no surprise there since it practically gave excadrill a chance to respond from such a risky movement. "reaction time," he murmured to himself. cerulean blue orbs carefully studied both pokemon and trainer.

excadrill, able to react so naturally without the need for guidance, made eric envious. this was something they would need to work on as time progressed. with a nod, he'd look to eevee, "this sandstorm is annoying!" he said aloud. once eevee regained their composure. eevee would come to realize that they could barely see out of it themselves. the excadrill was nothing more than barely a silhouette.

"yo, eevee!"

how were they gonna find excadrill in this mess? "we'll just have to freestyle it for now, launch a barrage of SWIFT'S out there!" eevee, nodding, began to release a flurry of stars out into the open field. "go, go!" eric cheered. eevee would continuously whip its tail to release several stars after the next forward. since they were unable to see the ground-type, they would just have to rely on luck! with a ADAPTABILITY active, all of eevee's normal-type moves would become increased in damage output.

a sandstorm!? this was the last thing he would've guessed. placing on his shades, eric would look for eevee within the sandy dust cloud. "eevee!" eric called, "let's give them the honor of starting it off!" eric assumed it was go time, "QUICK ATTACK!"

in a speedy flash eevee would rush within the cloud of sand. all in order to deliver a quick tackle to the excadrill's abdomen. how stoked they were to challenge an actual "league member".

"we're out, yahoo!"

the student began to prance in place. jumping on one heel over to the next. that would quickly come to a stop once bryan delarosa made mention of the future, as well as eric's occupation. "yeah, i go to a private university located in petalburg. it's a pretty rigorous school, rich snobs." though, considering his family, would he consider himself a rich snob?

"and, also, talk about crash! i'd love to have a battle with you!" with a peace sign risen and a widened grin, he would say, "you're looking at hoenn's next champion, hehe!" but first he needed to get through the little league. "this is something i wanna do way more right now. school will be there, the music, and the business. but for right now this is my goal. once i stomp out hoenn's little league. i heard they're each on the level, or close to, an actual gym leader!" eric excitedly spewed. the thought of challenging hoenn's future gym leaders made the future champion all the more excited. he was practically quivering.

"what a beast, talk about crash!"

eric cheered on bryan delarosa and the silvally. he was amazed by the trainer's display and unique pokemon. how was hoenn so full of adventure and new discovery!? he was missing out on so much! "i have to show mom this!" reaching into his pocket, he would pull out his cellular device to take a picture of the trainer and his pokemon. with a FLASH, eric would, accidentally, blind the final fairy-type that would remain standing. leaving it open for bryan delarosa's silvally to attack.

"so cool, i wanna battle this thing someday!" he'd let out another cheer, "you're a beast big bro bryan! keep up the good work!" were all the trainers in hoenn as strong as these two? it made his blood boil with excitement at the thought of meeting more like bryan delarosa.

"no, everything's not okay!" eric cried. he would look to the eevee, who would begin to gnaw at the trainer's leg, and began to pull at the pokemon's face. the duo bickered like children.

"dis durk ( this jerk )..." eevee began to pull at the trainer's face, "...iz tuch a wahnahbee ( is such a wannabe )..." he'd pull the eevee off of him. tossing it into the air, "...know-it-all!" the eevee would land on top of his head and began to tug on his hair. though, for a moment, they would pause. the stranger, pointing them in the right direction, captured their attention.

"really!?" starry-eyed, the both of them would stop their bickering. with rejoice they'd thank the man with a quick bow. "thanks, old man!" it was only then that, after their bickering, eric would come to notice the fire-type pokemon. "is that a magmortar!? so cool!" and it had an egg, "and it has an egg, talk about so crash!" eric was ecstatic to see something so rare. such a sight made him forget their purpose for coming to rustboro.

"hey, hey! what's inside of it!?" eric asked.

removing himself from the rocket. eric would continue to walk alongside bryan. listening to the rocket as he spoke. "how many?" there was eevee, growlithe, and...pidgeot. "yeah!"

he'd look reach into his b--oh. "uh..." eric would pause momentarily. with black, beaded eyes and a goofy grin worn. his mouth, agape with a widened small, stared dumbfoundingly into space as he thought long and hard about the whereabouts of his pokemon. there was only one conclusion he could come to:

"i forgot them back at the dorm."

the uniformed teen stated proudly. so he couldn't exactly help bryan delarosa out in the traditional, but that didn't mean he unable to. "oh!" beneath his footing there resided a large stick. "i found a stick," eric enthusiastically said. once more he would look down, "and a rock!" but before eric could say anything else. bryan delarosa would call forth a silvally, a pokemon never before seen!

"woah!" starry-eyed, the youth would flail his arms. with rock and stick in hand, he was ecstatic to watch something never before seen unfold before him. "you're so cool big bro!" tossing the rock into the air and readying to swing the stick; the moment the rock fell in front of him, eric would swing the stick. causing the rock to fly straight into cleffa's face. rendering it unconcious!

"score!" eric shouted with glee, "i'm helping!"

"mm, well, if this is gonna be my first battle. i'd like for it to be memorable with my one and only partner!" reaching into his bag to pull it the respective ball. eric would release none other than eevee!

"let's blow their mind, eevee!" an agreeing was uttered with excitement. ready to take on the challenge before them. it was explained, thereafter, that the environment would change. "that's so cool and high-tech! it's like the manmade beach mom owns back home!" starry-eyed and excited to see it in play. eevee, too, would mimic its trainer's excitement.

"gross, stay aw--" he was free. the severed vines were no longer attached to him. the guy actually saved him. he'd cling to the man's arm, crying aloud, "i owe you one, thanks a lot!" whether the man wanted to accept his physical contact or not was little of eric's concern. he was just happy to be free.

he would hang onto the man as tightly as possible. "name?" the guy didn't seem as if he was someone that would be interested in another. but it made joy befall the young trainer with glee upon being asked. that was the first start to friendship, right? "eric, eric moon!" he'd shake the ferociously with excitement, asking in return, "hey-hey, what's your name?"

pausing from fear and shock. eric was surprised to see another person here. joy overcame the youth, but quickly it was turned into disgust. "what!? i'm literally in a bdsm relationship with trees right now! this is far from okay, help me!" eric cried aloud. "this isn't exactly how i wanted to die bound--" another tree vine would emerge in front of the boy. squirming with temptation and duty to bind the boy's mouth. eric, staring wide-eyed, turned back toward bryan delarosa , "--and gagged, help!" he uttered in the middle of his bounded flailing.
