Georgette offers a warm smile to their server when their food makes an appearance, her napkin unfolded and placed in her lap before she takes up a spoon to dip into her onion soup. Humming a contented noise, her gaze flits over to Aurelie before she laughs softly, her nose wrinkling as she assures her friend, "I like hearing about your knives!"

Flushing beneath the praise, Gigi glances away almost shyly, her head giving a little shake as she murmurs without too much conviction, "I am nothing that special." Her eyes then brightening, she leans a touch nearer Aurelie to confide instead, "You must let me help you train sometime, no? I have not worked with many fire-types for contests, but I think I could manage it." With a wink, she suggests, "Lots of treats and bribes go a long way to getting them in a vest and sleeves." She again laughs at that, her hand moving to cover her mouth. "I can tell you all about Johto legendaries. Or at least show you pictures of what my little Swablu looked like!"

"Oh, and we could dress someone up as Ho-Oh!"

Listening contently, she then assures Aurelie, "My father is the same. Then again, my mother does not let many in her kitchen. She is strict." Grinning all of a sudden, she whispers, "One time he tried to make croissants as a surprise. It was a disaster. Flour everywhere. The croissants were lumpy. Butter was oozing out of half of them. He sometimes cooks outside for the farmhands, but almost never in the kitchen any more." Her head shaking, she takes another sip of her soup before her eyes alight curiously upon the offered salad.

"Yes," asserts brightly, her fork quickly taken up to stab at a few morsels in the offered bowl - as she does so, her free hand pushes the soup towards Aurelie to offer in turn, "It is very good, try it!"

"Are you seeing anyone?" The question a touch impish, Gigi asks without preamble, for the moment transported back to the young woman who wrote letter after letter detailing every aspect of her life on the farm while demanding all of Aurelie's class gossip from so far away.

summarize 2 plots that are in-progress and being threaded:

THE DAWN OF THE DARKEST DAY is Gigi's first raid-style event (death enabled no less 😬) and it has been a doozie! During this she has filled the role of healer and fighter all in one, and has allowed me to emphasize that beneath the soft exterior that most people see is a will of steel that refuses to break during adversity. It has been a fun examination of her character and I'm excited to see how she develops coming off this high pressure event.

Once DOTDD wraps up I'm looking forward to pushing Search and Rescue with Gigi as she slowly phases out seeing herself as only a pokemon breeder and little more, as well as some more personal-themed threads on her farm to help the citizens of Mossdeep - I especially want to start seeing pokemon-based therapy work being done with her farm-themed pokemon.
Georgette has met with NEW AND OLD FRIENDS ALIKE. In her personal life she has reconnected with her old childhood pen pal Aurelie Lefevre after it was discovered they were in Hoenn. Gigi once again doesn't know one of her friends is in Rocket, so this will be an interesting line to toe as their characters develop with one another. She has also gotten to know Tam Fawley, a ranger who came out to help clear off some Archen from a powerline that feeds her incubation room - after that, Gigi had a chance meeting with Tam and helped him round up some escaped Mareep.

I'd also like to give a shout-out to Beau Fontaine for being my DOTDD buddy - we both screamed softly as we tried to figure out the best approach to the prompts - and Elisabeth Fiorelli who is a constant in Gigi's story as her best friend.
Any notes/comments: How is it August already?? I've had a great 8 months in Hoenn so far, and am really looking forward to pushing more threads to get to know other League characters better. Unfortunately in July I had the world's worst move followed by a case of COVID, so I wasn't nearly as active as I wanted to be. I have lots planned for the future, though, and I'm looking forward to continuing Gigi's story in Hoenn. Thanks for having me everyone!!!

The Froslass reels from the Revenge attack, a loud crack filling the air where the Weavile's claws connect with the shell of her jaw. A crackling hiss fills the air, malevolence radiating from Alouette's eyes as the air shimmers violet - without warning flames burst into existence and the Froslass uses Will-o-Wisp in retaliation against Weavile.

Meanwhile, the faint cracking of ice and the sound of moving snow fills the air, signalling the return of Georgette's Glaceon. A faint crack in the surface of the snow proceeds Saint's eruption from the underground. Narrowly, she misses Alako and slams into the Substitute, the Glaceon's claws rending into the doll and leaving behind imprints of ice.

Her lungs heaving with annoyance, the Glaceon skids to a halt near Froslass where she bares her teeth at the nearby Weavile.

Her face paling abruptly, she watches in shock as the Dynamaxed Buzzswol turns against the gathered trainers. "Whimsicott!" She calls, to which the little cotton ball dodges a nearby shadow pokemon, managing to return to his trainer's side. Georgette winces all of a sudden, her fingertips lifting to press against her lower lip to stare at them, now bloodied from her inattentive actions.

Flicking her fingers, she shakes her head and retrieves a second pokeball, releasing a Gliscor. "Guillotine that pokemon," she isntructs, pointing the Buzzswol out. "Whimsicott, give a Helping Hand!"

Seated on an outcropping of ice, her tiny form bundled against the cold, Georgette observes her little Bergmite with fondness as the world's tiniest iceberg waddles about the ice-slicked floor of Shoal Cave.

Argentière pauses here and there, seeming to assess the quality of the nearby ice; occasionally, something seems to please the pokemon and he hunkers down against the ground. The air temperature dropping further every time he does so, each pause results in a small, fresh sheen of ice filling in the minute cracks apparent in his body.

"You are very picky," Georgette teases, her eyes bright when the Bergmite glances over to her and emits a haughty snuff in response. Laughing softly, delight evident on her features, her attention soon diverts towards the cavern's opening at the sound of footsteps.

Standing in the kitchen and dressed in a loose sleeping shift, Georgette busies herself with preparing their morning meal; the scent of freshly baked croissants fills the air while the tiny woman works with a small glass juicer to produce fresh orange juice for their impending meal. She stills at an all too familiar touch, a warm smile spreading across her lips as she tips her head towards Elisabeth to receive a kiss on the forehead.

"Good morning," Gigi drawls, her voice thick as honey as she pleasantly greets her wife. "I made almond croissants to go with breakfast. Brunch," she supplies in answer, her head tipping towards the counter before her as she asks, "Do you want juice or coffee?" As she speaks she nuzzles her cheek against Elisabeth's, her hand then lifting in delight as she finds a daisy tucked behind her ear.

"I see you've been busy already." Her nose wrinkling playfully, she waits until the daisies have been placed into a vase and then playfully swats her wife's hip, directing her with, "Now wash your hands, no?"

Moving back to continue her juicing, Gigi's head tips with interest in Elisabeth's direction as the blonde speaks, her expression pensive when she looks towards the pantry and then the refrigerator. "Yes," she decides after taking a mental inventory of their groceries.

Brightening all of a sudden, she supplies, "We have quiche? Or I could make crepes to take? Which would you prefer?" Before Elisabeth can answer, she tacks on while pointing towards one of the upper cabinets, "Pass me a thermos?"

Georgette gives a sharp nod, her gaze casting askance to her Vulpix who quickly evacuates the field in a puff of ice and snow; the little fox was much more suited to contests than anything resembling labour.

A Glaceon follows the Froslass onto the field, the pair glancing to one another before readying themselves for battle. The Swift attack passes through Froslass, a hellish cackle sounding from the frozen maiden "Draining Kiss," Georgette directs her Froslass; Alouette darts forwards to clamp down onto Weavile's shoulder, sapping the pokemon's strength to add to her own.

Meanwhile Saint the Glaceon stamps one foot upon the ground before disappearing into the snow with Dig.

Her smile bright, Georgette extends her hand in greeting to Melody once she is nearer, her gaze casting askance to the Primarina and Obstagoon and asks warmly, "These are you two challenging pokemon, no?"

Yes, this could possibly be the best day of Georgette's life. As Clover gives her hand a little lick and moves forward, she scarcely dares to breath, and it's not long before her arms are wrapped around the loaf and bundled up against her chest. "So cute," she gushes in a whisper, her fingers scritching into the corgi's dense fur.

It's then she finally notices Tam has actually been busy while she lollygags with the Yamper. Straightening up, her eyebrow arches subtly. She should likely help. She knows she should help. But Clover is so cute. To be fair, it seems the ranger has managed to get up to the Archeopss nest, though what exactly he plans to do about it is unknown.
